This is the main reason why i just love kpop. It's artistery. There would be the most shitty music playing but i will still enjoy those moments of art. The editors, makers, camera people deserve all the credit.
Same for the stage set designers (music shows too). I'm amazed every time at what they can create according to the concept of the song, without repeating too much. I feel like I'm dreaming every time there is a comeback stage and the stage set appears, it's witnessing dreams coming to reality for me. I think that we should talk about the people who make the sets more, especially in behind videos and all. I get that it's always about the idols etc, but it would be so much more interesting for me if the artistic team could talk and explain their ideas and the creation process more.
@@Raphael-2 yes!! I remember seeing in one enhypen performance there was a massive led scoreboard in the back for tamed dashed with working lights that switched between teams called scylla and charybdis which i thought was so cool as its a reference to their album. like its a small detail that most might not notice but the attention to detail made me so happy
yes, kpop stresses visual art a LOT. that's why you have the most amazing choreographies, sets, outfits, music videos, and the most attractive people in kpop. i will admit that a lot of the time the music is pretty lackluster but everything looks so perfect.
i feel like the music video production should be more appreciated in the kpop community (maybe it is and i just haven't noticed it lol).. the beauty of a music video really captivates me and i love it
Maybe those talks about like how the MV looks good or the visuals, it's kinda indirectly complimenting the Production group that made the MV possible, but to directly talk about the production is smaller compared to complimenting the MV.
This felt like a time capsule. The bgm paired amazingly, and the transitions felt satisfyingly seamless despite these shots being from completely different videos. And sure, maybe that's because it is truly pure cinema back to back, but it is undeniable that your editing made it feel like one big entity of its own. Truly a work of art!
sm has got one of the most creative and artistic film crew in kpop ever. their music videos are just a pop of weirdness, fun, and aesthetic. it's a story. it's a whole vibe.
Ever since people on Twitter did snoop on who makes IZ*ONE and LOONA's music videos, I have been enamored just how crazy digipedi and RIGEND FILM are as video production houses. Hands down, anything these two studios make are beautiful.
I'm one of those people who genuinely LOVE to watch music videos. I can rewatch all my favorite ones every day and never get bored. The artistry is just something so beautiful and makes me emotional in a way. And that's why I like k-pop so much, because they put so much effort into making everything so aesthetically pleasing.
This video legit made me realize how much i love digipedis mv style. Like theyre all very recognizable and distinct. I love the "still life" feeling that some if their shots have. Its just so pretty to analyze and look at
THIS the way kpop artists captivate their fans by adding beautiful cinematography is my favorite thing ever, i always end up liking a song a lot more when the mv looks really nice im pretty sure i shed a tear while watching invu..
That shot of Exo sitting like a mafia meeting is about to begin in monster is so dope, I also remembered that shot of Seulgi pointing the gun in Irene-Seulgi Monster. That shot was dope too.
What you'll notice is that you'll see Rigend Film being mentioned a lot, and to be honest, it's deserved because they have made some of the most beautiful MVs ever. Their editing style changes to perfectly fit the concept each group is going for that you can never really tell it's them. But one thing that does makes it obvious is their unique transitions and their never-seen-before visual effects. They were also the ones to direct and edit XG's 'Shooting Star'. A mv that is reminiscent of the Y2k/2000's Japanese Harajuku aesthetic and Wow can I say, the editing was phenomenal. Visual Effects everywhere. Rigend Film is truly one of a kind
My favourite k-pop music video of all time is Spring Day by BTS. When I first saw that, I didn't know the meaning of the song or the message it carried. The music video visually communicated the meaning of the song so beautifully. The colours, the saturation, the pacing - I have watched it hundreds of times over the years and it takes my breath away every single time. My only exposure to BTS before Spring Day was BST and it really changed my view of them, and that's the song & video that made me a fan.
I do be streaming kpop mvs for my own enjoyment very regularly. As a graphic designer and photographer I always get inspired by the artistry of kpop directors. that shot of jk floating in bs&t has stuck with me for years since watching it and still continues to inspire me.
Most beautiful MVs I've seen: HWAA (GIDLE), ADVICE (TAEMIN); FAKE LOVE (BTS); DEJA VU (DREAMCATCHER); OH MY GOD (GIDLE); all of aespa and loona; Simon Says/Cherry Bomb/Fire Truck/7th sense/Glitch Mode/Make a Wish/Turn Back Time (NCT); THUNDEROUS/Back Door/CASE 143 (Stray Kids); HOW YOU LIKE THAT (Blackpink); ICE CREAM/BAD BOY/PSYCHO (Red Velvet) however.... nothing ever reaches "Girls" by Nature. This MV is just sick. SICK.
I absolutely love "The Realest" by ONF... it takes me to space every time💫 Also, when its comes to beautiful MV's I got to mention "Shangri-La" by Vixx🌺
just wanna say-a good music video doesn’t need lore/storyline or expensive setting/props. Although a storyline makes it more meaningful, a normal music video without a story can still be artistic and attractive. Editing, camerawork, settings and more all come to play. And a really good visit doesn’t need 10 luxury cars or a big and grand locations! MV’s with vintage cameras with the simplest backgrounds ever are so unique and aesthetically pleasing, like cornerstone by arctic monkeys or ditto by newjeans! Simply saying: *no*, an iconic, artistic and creative music video doesn’t need luxurious backdrops or deep meaning, all you need is a good idea of *what is artistic*-and simply make it.
i’m an advanced cinematography student, and getting into kpop has opened lot of possibilities for me in terms of inspiration and reference. i don’t know, it’s so reassuring to me to have such artistry and diversity “encapsulated” in one industry. i always go to some mvs for my projects
Actually surprise there are no “Wind flower” Mamamoo, it’s still one of their prettiest mv and I think general in my top 5 I saw (and also Hwasa Maria , I’m the b or Wheein Water colour,Make me happy )
I never knew Lumpens was the MV director for so many of the hybe artists.... I really love their team. The concepts and cinematography? SLAY EVERYTIME.
you definitely have the potential to become a film director. your videos are so creative and cinematic and artistic and emotional. thats why ur my favorite ktuber and would 100% be my favorite film director too
All kpop fans need to know that behind their idols success there are many teams of hardworkers: the bands, the songwriters, the clip makers (directors, cameramen, art dir., so on), the choreographers, makeup artists, fashion stylists. I'm happy to see this video
No one can say kpop isn't educational. I can recognize VM Project's, Digipedi's and Rigend's works and I hope I will get behind the personal styles of other studios and directors in the future.
The first song I heard seemed familiar to me and yes, it was by ONF. ONF has very good songs, but many don't know it yet. And Red Velvet's second Kingdom Come. I love it!
the editing for this is amazing, you paired the videos back-to-back really well (and i just got to the part you transitioned the realest into kingdom come!?!? hellooo, u are the best k-tube editor omg)
I love that you chose The Realist as bgm, it's one of my favorite songs and so it's painfully underrated, so to see such beautiful shots put along to this heartwrenching song genuinely moved me to tears (also thank you for including OnlyOneOf, basically just thank you for including my underrated faves)
i actually think kpop wouldnt be sp popular without the expertise that goes into MVs. on their own, the idols are pretty people who perform their music. after the producers and makeup artists and cameramen and editors and set designers and stylists and sfx artists have worked with them though, they feel ethereal and that's what makes fans get so obbsessed.
my two favourite mvs that weren't in this videos are 'soso' by winner and 'jungle' by cix. honestly, both songs and mvs are super underrated and my favourites by both artists. the one scene in soso where hoony is naked and curled up in a ball leaves me speechless every time. the entire mv is genuinely one of the best in kpop and i don't even stan them, please check it out !!!!!
No but the way you edited them together though You really made a masterpiece omg I really hope you achieve your dream of becoming a filmmaker!! I got goosebumps in every moment and god it was like a path down nostalgia
this video is edited masterfully, oh my god this was so satisfying to watch as someone whos appreciative of the cinematography even if i havent studied much about Film.
I love every mv produced by shin hee won. They all have an interesting story line. My favorites from her would be one of these nights, automatic from red velvet and shinee’s view
I love how kpop treats the music video as a tool to enhance the song it is for. The directors/editors/etc. put so much passion into these projects. I've rarely been able to find a modern western music video (I say modern because older music cared more about the video because of MTV and such) that takes the kpop approach. A lot of people I've met say that the music video doesn't matter... and I just can't agree with that at all. These people approach the MV as an art form that should be respected. And this video just highlights the absolutely STUNNING shots you get from these videos. Such a gorgeous video
I love your editing. You made this video flow so nicely, and it really made me appreciate the K-pop MVs. And the songs you put in fit so well, I actually got a little emotional towards the end because it was so pretty.
so much loona i love it, another group to look out for in mv terms is P1harmony, they have the same production team as loona if i'm not mistaken (DIGIPEDI)
this is my top list of the best cinematographically and aesthetically MVS peek a boo - redvelvet (this is the masterpiece 🤤) automatic - rv (I really like that nostalgic creepy atmosphere) RBB - rv psycho - rv feel my rhythm - rv monster - seulgi/irene I can't stop me - twice apple - gfriend home run - svt simon says - nct attention - newjeans cookie - newjeans ditto - newjeans (a and b sides was really good. in my opinion newjeans is the most aesthetic k-pop group) OMG - newjeans blood sweat tears - BTS run - BTS blessed cursed - enha (it was really like I watch MTV in 2000s) lion - idle tomboy - idle oh my god - idle love scenario - ikon girls - nature i also wanna add to 28 reasons by seulgi but not MV. just MV teasers.
Kpop videos are amazingly well edited and some of them can be extremely iconic in their imagery. They're pretty much my biggest inspiration when it comes to studying video editing and I also look towards them a lot when it comes to art direction. Your rendering of said power of kpop MVs is really good, so here's a new subscriber hehe :) As a bonus, some personal picks I thought about from my favorite artists/groups that weren't included in this particular video (if they were and I missed sorry 😭): -NCT 127: the masks shots in Simon Says; the hose's scenes and Winwin's dance moves in Fire Truck; Taeyong's spike hair in the red bg in Ay-yo; the cowboy face off in Sticker; the interior dome/fight scenes and final chorus of Kick it. - NCT 127's Regular: Taeyong vs glass window; him standing in front of the city; Haechan on top of the car; Winwin falling; the rap scene with the lights. - NCT U: Taeyong in the chandelier from Make a Wish; the black and white circular shot in the final part of Baby don't stop; the painting, final break dance and the frame at the end where they are all sitting together from Boss. - Literally any shot of Jonghyun's She is - Literally any shot of Ten's Dream in a Dream - Literally any shot of Taemin's Idea - SHINee's 1of 1: the intro, the girl lines zoom in during the bridge or the boys in the stairs; - SHINee's Married to the Music: key's head getting shopped and going around, people spitting confetti, the ending shot with the girl in the bed. - Taeyong's Long Flight: the first shot where he sits down, the scenes where he's in the background with the clouds and the northern lights - Baekhyun's Bambi: him dancing with his hat in the train, singing his heart out (lol) outside of the train and the moment the sparks fire. - Taemin's Press your number: opening shot of the car and picking the phone, him dancing in the fancy hall, the broken car, the gun falling in the table, taemin inside the back of the car with the roses vs the girl in the floor, his back with the blue sky, him in the car with himself. - Literally any shot of Red Velvet's Bad boy - Hyuna's Lip & Hip: taking her braces off, multiples shots from the ending sequence (butt Donalds, the tomatoes, putting her pants). I won't go on because that's already a lot of stuff but oh boy do I love to pay attention to this type of stuff 😭
idek where to begin. this is why i love kpop. the visuals, the artistry, the effect it has. it’s all so beautiful. as soon as the video started, i got chills. towards the end, i felt like crying bc it’s so emotional especially with the song choices. i also like how goodbye was the last clip, bidding us farewell. amazing job!
That’s good to see that we all appreciate this kind of art. It brings such a special sensation to see these peculiar shots. The different styles between directors is just so nice to see.
YESSSS this was stunning!!! loved looking through all the replies on ur community post also!! i'm not really in on the technicalities of video making but i always lovvvve seeing kpop mv appreciation because it's such a big part of the visual aspect that is one of the biggest drawing factors of the genre imo and often doesn't get mentioned as much as other things (also sidenote omg the lil transition u made from miroh to drunk-dazed i see u that was so cool)
Some MVs I personally have been intrigued by lately are Sugar Rush Ride by TXT, Ban Heeseo version of Ditto by New Jeans, Step by Kara, The Boys by SNSD, Papparazi by SNSD, The Astronaut by Jin, Film Out by BTS, and Likey by Twice.
The way you appreciate both new and old kpop, and both ggs and both bgs makes me see how true your thought abt how kpop is art is. I really think music shouldn't be divided by how much you love the connection you have with your artist and force yourself into that parasocial relationship, but just enjoy the art. K-pop is based of how connected you feel to your idol but to me it's also abt how connected I feel to the music they put out in most cases
can I just say I have so much respect for you being able to choose just a few scenes from your favorite mvs cause I know that was probably really hard. I am so glad big ktubers like you are talking about this part of the industry, like mvs are such a big part of kpop and rarely anyone talks about it. I’ve been trying to make videos like this on my own channel but obv they haven’t taken off 😅 I had no idea you wanted to be a filmmaker but I must say it’s obvious now through your editing. I have the same dream, and I take a lot of inspiration for my own projects/channel from your videos, so I believe you certainly have the talent to get there one day!
the fact you used kingdom come by red velvet (that song is CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED) as one of the songs to show these beautiful ass visuals put a fucking smile on my face.
I'm excited because i heard ONF song, but there is none ONF MV in this. I thought there will be ONF - We Must Love or Why MV , because the setting also best. But anyway this is your preference and i agree about them all too. Maybe you could made part 2, because there so many beautiful scene in KPOP MV . Thank you for made this video 😊
well done video, this is beautiful and i love that you took the time to mention the producers. The cuts were well timed and just felt so magical with the music (now i gotta go add those two to my playlist)

I won't go on because that's already a lot of stuff but oh boy do I love to pay attention to this type of stuff 😭
the amount of loona's mvs in this says a lot.. great video :D
idek where to begin. this is why i love kpop. the visuals, the artistry, the effect it has. it’s all so beautiful. as soon as the video started, i got chills. towards the end, i felt like crying bc it’s so emotional especially with the song choices. i also like how goodbye was the last clip, bidding us farewell. amazing job!
Loona/oec loonatic will always be aesthetic and iconic queen for me
That’s good to see that we all appreciate this kind of art. It brings such a special sensation to see these peculiar shots. The different styles between directors is just so nice to see.
THANK YOU FOR INTRODUCING ME TO LOVE WAR. IT IS TRUE ART
YESSSS this was stunning!!! loved looking through all the replies on ur community post also!! i'm not really in on the technicalities of video making but i always lovvvve seeing kpop mv appreciation because it's such a big part of the visual aspect that is one of the biggest drawing factors of the genre imo and often doesn't get mentioned as much as other things
(also sidenote omg the lil transition u made from miroh to drunk-dazed i see u that was so cool)
This whole video is just extreme eye candy, and i love it
hearing onf in a yt creator is so rare I'm crying,,,
Some MVs I personally have been intrigued by lately are Sugar Rush Ride by TXT, Ban Heeseo version of Ditto by New Jeans, Step by Kara, The Boys by SNSD, Papparazi by SNSD, The Astronaut by Jin, Film Out by BTS, and Likey by Twice.
2:07-2:08 TRANSITIONNNNN
Wowwww great edits and bgm choice! The cuts really fit the music and the mood!
THE TRANSITION BETWEEN ECLIPSE AND AUTOMATIC OMG?
THE WAY YOU ENDED IT WITH GOODBYE😭
chills, your editing skills are amazing btw
The way you appreciate both new and old kpop, and both ggs and both bgs makes me see how true your thought abt how kpop is art is. I really think music shouldn't be divided by how much you love the connection you have with your artist and force yourself into that parasocial relationship, but just enjoy the art. K-pop is based of how connected you feel to your idol but to me it's also abt how connected I feel to the music they put out in most cases
all of these are absolutely gorgeous, but i think that my top favourites would be blood, sweat n tears, cheshire and spring day (i am so in love frfr)
THE OPENING OF BLESSED-CURSED IS ELITE
the transition from miroh to drunk-dazed🤯
can I just say I have so much respect for you being able to choose just a few scenes from your favorite mvs cause I know that was probably really hard.
The heck! This is absolutely beautiful!
the fact you used kingdom come by red velvet (that song is CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED) as one of the songs to show these beautiful ass visuals put a fucking smile on my face.
Thanks for using the realest but why no Onf MV? They have one of the best cinematography out of all kpop groups in my opinion
2:06 THE TRANSITION
Kind of surprised that there are no dpr music videos in this, but absolutely love all the mv's the artistry is just top their in kpop
we need to praise people who work behind the scenes more because these shots are straight up brilliant
omg it was so beautiful, It felt like I was watching a trailer to Kpop !!
this is so amazing as a kpop fan and a mass comm student who studies film and cinematography
all the snsd in this just shows you have impeccable taste
I'm excited because i heard ONF song, but there is none ONF MV in this. I thought there will be ONF - We Must Love or Why MV , because the setting also best.
But anyway this is your preference and i agree about them all too. Maybe you could made part 2, because there so many beautiful scene in KPOP MV
.
Thank you for made this video 😊
the ‘complete’ mv is present here, but only for like a millisecond:)
@@winterosy awww okey, didn't notice it before.😊
talking abt cinematography, ur editing has gotten a lot cooler §
3:54 GAVE ME GOOSEBUMPS
I got goosebumps when Fear came omfg
well done video, this is beautiful and i love that you took the time to mention the producers. The cuts were well timed and just felt so magical with the music (now i gotta go add those two to my playlist)
