I saw pastor Yankee Arnold with his wife Betty. Did anyone else see them? Ephesians 2:8-9 - 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven, there is no other way. Your good works will not get you to Heaven. You need to believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross at Calvary found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, it's the only gospel that saves lost souls. Please get saved, time is running out!
Ephesians 2:8-9 Probably the most misunderstood pair of verses in the Bible. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9not by works, so that no one can boast. James says it perfectly. James 2:14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Richard Bealle Yes sir my brother, praise His wonderful name forever, and I got me my call to preach the unsearchable riches of Christ Jesus back in July of last year as well, been going bible college since, you've got to learn to live by faith I tell you what, God bless you now.
I'm excited about your call to preach. I'll pray for your time in Bible college. I'll also pray that many will be saved and encouraged through your ministry. Stay close to God so He can use you in a mighty way.
I was physically born of my mother by no works of me other then to take my first breath of air. But I absolutely have to work/obey/yield to have a loving fellowship with my mother. It seems to me that God in all his wisdom even made our physically life to be a clear example of our spiritual life..but so sad how many people still want to make it muddy and confusing. Life is free. Fellowship cost you. Eternal life is free by faith in Jesus. Fellowship with Jesus will cost you.
I obey him: "For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day." John 6:40
You STILL got to do works . Not for salvation , but to spread the word of God , your not saved and always saved . You can NOT ABIDE on the branch . Hebrews 6 says there are those who tasted salvation and left . Departed . Book of revelation says .. you’ve left your first love / JESUS . Never leave Jesus .. never leave the Blood . Power in the Blood and Holy Ghost Power
GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS LORD THY GOD YOUR WILL BE DONE FOREVER AND EVER PRAISE BE AND ALL GLORY AND ESTEEM TO THE GOD OF ISRAEL GOD OF ABRAHAM, ISAAC, AND JACOB
They believe in salvation by grace alone, but you’re expected to live, act, and think a certain way unless you want them to think you weren’t saved in the first place or at least in compromise. A favorite word with IFB-ers.
Friend, grace, mercy, and forgiveness is the gift of God, not of man. Man's way is to cheat, steal, and lie, swear, destroy, murder and hate, its been that way from the start. God is love, forgiveness, mercy and his resources are unlimited. Don't hate the only one who can ever help you. Jesus loves you, and cares for you, and doesn't want to see any one perish. I pray God strengthens you, and the Holy Spirit shows you how you can experience real forgiveness and mercy, as only he can.
" Have you carried your cross DAILY???" no..sometimes i am a dismal failure and when i fail,i repent and ask for the strength of God's Spirit to help me the next time. absolutely i fail, it would be insane to think otherwise. there is some horrible fruit in my life and i repent of it every time i taste it. All praise to God for His Great Mercy. I have no righteousness but Jesus. what is it that you think i would want to deny?
Malachi 2: 17 Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; ...
He won't always be pressing on. Not all the time, at the very least. When you sin, it is that time you are no longer pressing on the mark for the prize; because when you sin, you do it because you want to. Now there is a prize for serving Him and a reward, but many will suffer loss and will be saved as by fire. Paul pressed for that prize, and he will be rewarded for it. Every Christian needs to do what Paul did, but not every believer will.
Yes, I agree every believer needs to live the Christ like life. Notice in 1 John 2:6 it uses the word "ought" which means that we should. Paul's writings are stating what John had stated, that we ought to walk the way God wants us to walk, in our Saviour's Footsteps. But, many believers don't, sadly. However, when they don't, they will be chastened and corrected by God. If they don't have God's conviction, there is a problem and need to reexamine themselves to see if they are of the faith.
A person that has been forgiven by a just and merciful God by such a great and merciful God will not be looking for ways not to obey His Lord,he will be motivated by his regenerated heart to always please his Lord. will he succeed? no,of course not, but He will always be pressing on. Philippians 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus
Repentance and believing are inseparable. It's clear here in these verses. The person that has trusted Christ as repented. And the person who repents trusts Christ.
Yes, God does put desires in the believer's life to serve the Lord, and I believe that at many cases, this is at the moment of salvation. See, God gives us a new heart and I don't know a believer that he suddenly gets saved and doesn't want to do anything for the Lord. God gives us new desires when we get saved. But, are those desires going to last? NO!, not at all. Why do we sin? We do it because we want to do it and choose to. Thus, there had to be a desire to do it in the first place.
Revelation 3:15-16 15I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. James 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
My point is that you don't get better to get saved. You get saved to get better. You can't even get better until you are saved. Like going to a doctor, we go their because there is a problem and we expect the doctor to know it. We don't make ourselves better in order to go. Jesus is the Master Physician and knows our problems and we must go to Him and Him only with our problems and He will take care of them.
You're right, but this comment was not appropriate. He only spoke the truth in this video. Let us concentrate on the grace of God, rather than disputes over Calvinism.
Romans 6 22But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
@rofyle Here the preacher is just saying that there's nothing more required to be done to be saved than to trust Christ. One does not earning salvation by 'being wicked'. Having been saved through faith in Christ, you are not only free to pursue your fruitful, holy living, but the Word of God incites you to do so. You don't trust in your good works (in addition to trusting Christ) for salvation. One has certainly gone too far if he's trying to do even one thing to get saved.
7Be not ye therefore partakers with them. 8For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: 9(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. 11And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matthew 9:13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance
"ought" has changed meaning since 1611 according to strongs concordence means to owe (pecuniarily); figuratively to be under obligation (ought, must, should); morally to fail in duty: - behove, be bound, (be) debt (-or), (be) due (-ty), be guilty (indebted), (must) need (-s), ought, owe, should.
@rofyle Thank you, rofyle, for freely expressing your thoughts. My standing is on Christ's accomplishment, not mine ; His righteousness, not mine. Innumerable times the Word says 'whoever believes', 'whoever wills, let him come and drink ... freely ...'. God does not require the 'mighty faith' that you are referring to! Secondly, Christ would deny the ones who put their trust in the 'works' they have done. The ones who come to Him trusting Him, he'll never put away. God bless.
Another question arises for you Lordship Salvationists as to how much Lordship is enough? What does it mean to submit to His Lordship? Is 75% submission enough to get one saved? Is 80% required? 66.6%? 100%? Who's to say? If 100 % submission is required for salvation, then there is no one who ever believed in God who is saved, not even David, Abraham or Noah.
Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
we are saved by God's wonderful grace to do good works...we are not saved by good works Ephesians 2:8-10 8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. IF is a big word. John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love;
Lordship proponents counter this by saying, "well, one must be willing to submit to the Lordship of Christ." But this only begs the issue. Again we can ask, how willing? 80%, 90% or 100%? We still have the troubling question of "how much." One can never know for sure if they are submitting enough to Christ under the Lordship Salvation view. This eliminates all security for the believer, which is unthinkable in light of passages like Romans 8 and others.
@PatriciaBrigh If you think you've been justified because you cast your self-proclaimed sovereign trust His way, then you are ever bit the self-righteous Pharisee that Christ promised He would deny at the last day. "But Lord, Lord, did I put my trust in You? Was my trust not mighty enough to pin You to the floor and force You to acknowledge that my righteousness is able to save me?"
Yes, I know. I am not stupid. This is what I have been trying to say. Surrendering to the Lord is a work. Turning from sin is a work. It's all self-righteousness and you can fit just about anything in that category that we DO. But, when we get saved, we ought to work for our Lord because of what He has done for us. We love Him because He first loved us (1 John 4:10). We keep His commandments because we love Him (John 14:15). But, do we love Him all the time? NO!
He explained salvation very well. I know the only way Richard Bealle can get to Heaven is through Jesus Christ. I thank God that Christ saved me 6 years ago. (If you never have) I hope you will repent of your sin (see yourself as a sinner and confess it to God), believe the Gospel (the good news of Jesus), and call on Christ to forgive your sinful nature and save your soul. Only then will you be a Christian and a Child of God.
6Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7For he that is dead is freed from sin.
when one gets saved the direction that he moves in will be different. he turns his back on desiring to sin and moves toward God. we all have our sin nature in us but if we are truly saved it becomes a struggle to sin because our desire will be to please the one who gave His life for us. we will slip at times. at some point the believer has to put down the baby bottle and pick up the knife and fork.
the question is not whether we are eternally secure...the question is if the person is truly saved in the first place...saying a magic formula without a corresponding repentance and regeneration is nothing but wishful thinking...to think that Jesus died so we can live in sin then go to heaven is heresy..
James 2:19 says, "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble." This is what is called passive faith. There is a difference between passive faith and dynamic faith. Believing that there is a God won't take you to Heaven. 95% of America believes there is a God. But, to be saved, one must trust Christ as Saviour. The devils don't trust Christ as their Saviour, do they?
Repentance is indeed a turn-around of the mind. It is a turn from destruction to Christ. It is a turn from Hell to Christ. When we get saved, it is because we want to and because we believe on the Lord. When we repent, it is like a U-Turn and we have when we take a u-turn sometimes it takes a LONG time for people to get back to where they need to be. And sometimes, the babe in Christ may never be at the point where he can eat meat yet.
Christ died for our sins! Are you saved in the Lord Jesus Christ? Your good works doesn't pay for your bad works, you need a 'payment' for your sins and that is Jesus Christ. You cannot do it alone, Jesus Christ paid it all for you, the only thing you have to do is 'believe' in what He did for you on the cross of Calvary. Jesus Christ is the only cure for sin, so please believe in what He did, His death, burial and resurrection - found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, saves lost souls when you truly believe from your heart. Ephesians 1:13, saved and sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven, there is no other way. Please get saved now, time is running out! Eph. 2:8-9 and Titus 3:5
My dear brother. Please let me suggest that you take a time out from human teachers and really dig into your Bible. Pray that God give you wisdom and understanding. We can all be wrong. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
abide means to remain...Jesus said : John 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
your questions of how much is enough misrepresents the position. there is no amount of work that we can do that is enough. God puts the desire in our Hearts to obey Him by His grace,it is a gift. Psalm 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Matthew 9:13 ... for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
You said, "If they stay babes they are not truly saved." Wrong! I disagree with that. The Bible makes it clear that it is God that gives the increase. Thus, when we get saved, we are only a sprout grounded in repentance and faith. It's important to know that sometimes some plants grow slower than others.
Romans 6 1What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 6Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7For he that is dead is freed from sin. 11Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
"What you are saying here implies that there is no such thing as a backsliding believer." not at all...what i am saying is that if a person shows no sign of being a new creature in Christ, they very well might not be. not everyone who says they are a Christian ,really is...if belief was the only criteria, the devil would be a Christian (James 2:19)
your argument ,young brother is with the Word of God. why would you want to toy with the wrath of God? Grace without Holiness mocks a Holy,Righteous God. " Anything added to that simple gospel is wicked. " is Paul wicked? was what he taught wicked? Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; note: "unto all them that obey him;"
James 2:14-26 (KJV)14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
DrRQuincy vs 18 “yea, a man may say..” James 2 in context is saying without our works our faith is dead in the sight of man. God looketh upon the heart of man, He knows if we trusted the Lord Jesus or not. James 2 is talking about being justified in the sight of man not God. Romans 4 faith alone is what saves! Look and live friend!
Ephesians 5 1Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. 3But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; 4Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
Mark 1:14-16 (King James Version) 14Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
He quotes John Newton, who believed in all five of the doctrines of grace. Hutson DENIED all five in his booklet, "Why I Disagree with all Five Points of Calvinism." Go figure!
Romans 6 1What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 3Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
No, I do not think He will overlook our sin. He most certainly will not (Hebrews 12:7-8). God hates it when we sin. Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and ought not be defiled. And what do you mean by me toying around with God's judgment? He will deal with His children the way He needs to.
We ought to live holy after we are saved. But, I don't believe that every believer will. To make the holy life a requirement for salvation is works salvation and it is a dangerous road to be on. And I like that definition of repentance. The word "repent" in the Greek is metanoia, which means simply a "change of one's mind". That is all we are doing when we get saved. We are ONLY trusting Christ to take us to Heaven when we die. Anything added to that simple gospel is wicked.
Judas and the Pharisees did not have the indwelling Holy Spirit. That example does not work. It is only when one is truly Born Again that the have the Spirit of the Living God dwelling inside them. I am not saying we can merit or pay for any part of the Grace and Salvation of God. But as with any gift we must be willing to turn around, face the giver and accept it. He is not going to throw the gift at our rebellious back. Our repentance is a gift from Him,put into our hearts at conversion.
i am sorry that i spoke so harshly...i did not realize you were so young...i would respectfully advise you not to start a reply with an attack on someone old enough to be your father, trust me i have been studying this for many years...i am very jealous for God's name...please read your Bible prayerfully and not just rely on your teachers...we all can be wrong but God never is...
As I have stated before, before you can remain in Christ, you must BE in Christ. What you are saying here implies that there is no such thing as a backsliding believer. Let me as you something. Do you ABIDE in Jesus Christ EVERY day? No, no one does every day. Scriptural Proof that a believer can be controlled by Satan is found in 1 Corinthians 5:5, "To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus."
Please read your Bible... Romans 6 1What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
as far as carnal christians are concerned does talk about that in 1 Corinthians 3:13...it sounds like he was saying that they were acting like babies...which is exactly what the cheap grace people promote..do you think it is a good thing to stay babies in Christ? Jesus did not die and purchase us with His own blood so we could waste it...all i know is that we can judge them by their fruits...what fruit do the cheap grace people show?
they don't need to eat the meat all they have to do is surrender their life to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to do the life changing work through regeneration...if it takes along tim they might want to pray and ask God to save them.
Revelation 2:16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. Revelation 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,
I have no problem with Matt. 18:3-4. Christ emansd that we must repent(converted), to become child of God, this is the beginning of salvation to enter into the kingdom. Very simple to become saved is, to believe, trust, repent of sins, accept Christ. That is how to become child of God to enter into the kingdom. This is the beginning. But, Matt. 7:13-14 tell us, enter the narrow gate is hard throughout our lifetime. Once into the gate then victory at the end.
Dr. Ralph "Yankee" Arnold, Dr. Curtis Hutson, Dr. Hank Lindstrom, Pastor John Ricci, Dr. Peter Ruckman, and Dr. Jack Hyles have to be some of the greatest evangelists of our time, communicating clearly the simple message of the gospel of faith alone in Christ alone. What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
So if you haven't shown evidence of faith by first repenting of sin you are not a believer in God's eyes.
We are saved by grace through repentance which is the consequence of Faith.

I wish I could get this whole sermon on video. I have it through just the audio but it’s really nice to see him preach as well.
I love the way he preaches. Sort of sounds like an old Pentecostal although he's Baptist, but both Christians none the less.
Salvation by works = trusting the sinner
Salvation by grace = trusting the savior

They believe in salvation by grace alone, but you’re expected to live, act, and think a certain way unless you want them to think you weren’t saved in the first place or at least in compromise. A favorite word with IFB-ers.
Amen brother, too bad we don't have many good preachers such as this left these days. Thank God I'm saved by grace!
Thank you Jesus!
Notice in the verse that it says, "If a man abide not in me..." You can NOT possibly abide in Him until you are born again.
" Have you carried your cross DAILY???"
no..sometimes i am a dismal failure and when i fail,i repent and ask for the strength of God's Spirit to help me the next time.
absolutely i fail, it would be insane to think otherwise.
there is some horrible fruit in my life and i repent of it every time i taste it. All praise to God for His Great Mercy. I have no righteousness but Jesus.
what is it that you think i would want to deny?
Malachi 2: 17
Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; ...
Big Amen to this.
Im on the winning siiiiiiiiiiiiide.
A person that has been forgiven by a just and merciful God by such a great and merciful God will not be looking for ways not to obey His Lord,he will be motivated by his regenerated heart to always please his Lord. will he succeed? no,of course not, but He will always be pressing on.
Philippians 3:14
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus
Amennnnn
Fantastic!

Great!
5For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Revelation 3:15-16
15I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
James 2:14
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
James 2:17
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Very deep and true
Amen!!!
GREAT!!! Thursday, July 26, 2012
8For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: 9(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
10Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
11And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
Matthew 4:17
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Matthew 9:13
But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance
AMEN! =)
amen
"ought" has changed meaning since 1611
according to strongs concordence means
to owe (pecuniarily); figuratively to be under obligation (ought, must, should); morally to fail in duty: - behove, be bound, (be) debt (-or), (be) due (-ty), be guilty (indebted), (must) need (-s), ought, owe, should.
How easy is it to believe that a man rose from the dead after 3 days and nights?
Romans 12:1-2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
we are saved by God's wonderful grace to do good works...we are not saved by good works
Ephesians 2:8-10
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
IF is a big word.
John 15:10
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love;

Is this video available for purchase anywhere? I have the audio version of this message and would very much like to get the video version.
AMEN
Where can I find the full sermon
And sometimes, the babe in Christ may never be at the point where he can eat meat yet.
i agree
what do you think i am saying?
@warningsofwrath Amen!
My dear brother. Please let me suggest that you take a time out from human teachers and really dig into your Bible. Pray that God give you wisdom and understanding. We can all be wrong. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
abide means to remain...Jesus said :
John 15:6
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
your questions of how much is enough misrepresents the position. there is no amount of work that we can do that is enough. God puts the desire in our Hearts to obey Him by His grace,it is a gift.
Psalm 37:4
Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Hebrews 5:9
And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
Matthew 9:13
... for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
You said, "If they stay babes they are not truly saved." Wrong! I disagree with that.
The Bible makes it clear that it is God that gives the increase. Thus, when we get saved, we are only a sprout grounded in repentance and faith. It's important to know that sometimes some plants grow slower than others.
Romans 6
1What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
6Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7For he that is dead is freed from sin.
11Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
"What you are saying here implies that there is no such thing as a backsliding believer."
not at all...what i am saying is that if a person shows no sign of being a new creature in Christ, they very well might not be. not everyone who says they are a Christian ,really is...if belief was the only criteria, the devil would be a Christian (James 2:19)
your argument ,young brother is with the Word of God. why would you want to toy with the wrath of God? Grace without Holiness mocks a Holy,Righteous God.
" Anything added to that simple gospel is wicked. "
is Paul wicked? was what he taught wicked?
Hebrews 12:14
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Hebrews 5:9
And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
note: "unto all them that obey him;"
James 2:14-26 (KJV)14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Go read ROMANS 3:28 and Romans 4:5-8 says we are JUSTIFIED WOTHOUT ANY WORKS.
DrRQuincy, if salvation was by works, then Christ died on the cross for nothing.
@@trickerdgaming No, it says "without works of the law"
@cdrussell100 Not insecure, but rather passionate. Also very logical.
Ephesians 5
1Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
3But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
4Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
Mark 1:14-16 (King James Version)
14Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
15And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
He quotes John Newton, who believed in all five of the doctrines of grace. Hutson DENIED all five in his booklet, "Why I Disagree with all Five Points of Calvinism." Go figure!
Romans 6
1What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Romans 6
1What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
as far as carnal christians are concerned does talk about that in 1 Corinthians 3:13...it sounds like he was saying that they were acting like babies...which is exactly what the cheap grace people promote..do you think it is a good thing to stay babies in Christ?
Jesus did not die and purchase us with His own blood so we could waste it...all i know is that we can judge them by their fruits...what fruit do the cheap grace people show?
they don't need to eat the meat all they have to do is surrender their life to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to do the life changing work through regeneration...if it takes along tim they might want to pray and ask God to save them.
Revelation 2:16
Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
Revelation 2:5
Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
Acts 2:38
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,
I have no problem with Matt.
