There is something really beautiful about the cycle they go through, the fact that they all face the same fate but together as one big mass to dump energy back into the environment is really beautiful. Self sacrafice for the greater good of the planet... we should take note
Loved the video! That last shot, with the stringer, is great.. gives a real sense of accomplishment to see a full stringer. And it's also fun how you can still feel the tugs from the fish lmao.
Thanks for tuning in! Yes, nothing like bagging your limit. I know I've had my fair share of getting out and hoping for the best just to get skunked. 😅
@@fadedchannel What a small world! Lol. How do you know Tim? My fiancé, Serr Her is a distant cousin of Tim's. In case you ever run into Serr in the outdoors, he and some friends also run a UA-cam channel, Public Axis.
So I live in Colorado, and there are laws that you’re not allowed to snag in a river and its catch and release in the rivers. You are allowed to snag in the lake and keep them but not in a river specially, if it’s gold metal waters. And there is a limit of 10 it used to be 40. Usually when water is coming out of a dam or a. spillway it’s going down a river.
Hi David, I'm a born and raised Coloradan and am very much aware of the ever changing fishing regs. Where we're fishing is definitely not gold metal waters nor does it flow into a river, this is very much a reservoir where we are legally within the snagging season AND bag limits for three anglers. Kokanee fishing and snagging season is already upon us again - tight lines!
There are numerous rivers where you can snag kokanee legally. Even gold medal waters, such as the blue river inlet. I don’t like snagging, I don’t agree with it, but to each their own. It’s not like the kokanee are able to reproduce enough to sustain their own population, so snagging some spawning kokanee really isn’t a big deal.

Just went up today to see if any were there, nothing at all, when are they usually in this pocket? Im super excited to see them and take some home!
You definitely don't want these. Not great for eating like any other spawning salmon.
@duckwacker8720 what makes them different than any other salmon?
Right on! Keep the videos coming!
Thanks! You guys too!
Awesome venture, great footage 👍 👏 👌 😀
Thank you for watching!! 🙂

Thanks for tuning in! I like your content - keep it up!! Just subbed. 🙂

@@SheilaVueOutdoors Tim and I did a few videos together. I'm subbed to Public Axis as well. I think he said he's hunting ducks with them this week.
Wow, what a sight to see! I’ve always wanted to see and fish salmon like that. Mayb one day! Nice video

So, I make a glass bead that puts them in the net.
Hey. Where were you. My and my dad are tying to get a nice salmon
Did you go In November?
Any idea when the salmon are spawning in that area ? Wanted to see this for myself 😇
Yes, September through October.
Second only to sockeye for flavor.
I'd love to fish for sockeye someday!
They are sockeye. Just landlocked🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
These are boots and taste like it. Catch them in the lake that's where they taste best.
Cool regulations.
Thanks for watching! Yes, super neat regs, we're very fortunate for these opportunities.
Wow
Thanks for watching! Just subbed to your channel!

Do a catch and cook on the salmon.
Yes - that's the plan!
Kokanee are amazing especially smoked or baked.. I’d rather have them then rainbow trout any day.. rainbows are just to fishy for me 😅

Colorado fishing regulations are a pain in the arse. Changes every body of water and every damn 10 feet.
When is the best time to go snagging
Depends on where you go. Here at this particular body of water, snagging was permitted from Octber 1st through end of the month.
Where is this I. Colorado
How many could you keep?
10 per person at this fishery.
Where is this if u don't mind sharing
Western Colorado!
@@SheilaVueOutdoors ya I found it last spawn 😂 small at this lake
