    I have a Lexus 2014, model Es250. Unfortunately, I haven't changed the transmission oil, since I bought the car. The car is a single owner, and it currently has 180, 000 km.. The agency says that if they change the oil, they won't guarantee the transmission or the repairs. Some mechanics say that I can change the oil with no problems to the transmission, others say that it is a high risk. What can you recommend? Thanks!

    Hy brian,
    I drained my 03 es 300 out and it is about 4.5 quarts. Should I still put back 3.5 quarts like you mentioned or should I put back exactly how much it drained out (4.5 quarts) ? Thank you.

      I would put the 3 quarts in started up run it through the gears and then check the level. It’s a level is low had it’s a level is on the money you’re good to go. It’s possible he was overfilled.

      @Evan-xk3db 6 років тому +1

      Zack Salvatore I hear transmission flushed are bad for the tranny.. everyone I’ve ran into tell me if I do want to rid the old fluid out to do the drain and fill method. Drain old fill it, drive around for a bit and the drain again until it runs red.

      @@stevewilliams1009 I am not affiliated with ANY business. Period. I only use OEM fluid. I figure: a) for only a few dollars more, it's not worth the risk; b) the consequences of incompatible fluid is a can of worms that I don't want to deal with. I'm already saving a mountain of money by doing the work myself. I can splurge for the good stuff. Now, as for motor oil and brake fluid, there's no need to get the branded stuff, but transmissions are fickle beasts.

      How to Automotive I have an 05 as well, 220,000 miles. I’m not sure if it’s been done on my car before , I bought it almost 2 years ago with 180k. Should I leave it alone? Ever since I got the car, it shifts kinda slowly /jerky from first to second. Rest of the shifts are smooth. It just feels like super reluctant to shift from first to second when I’m accelerating away from a stop or from low speeds.
      Also I am in Escondido , just had my car serviced at Toyota Escondido. Do you guys charge less than $50 for an oil change /tire rotation? If so, I’ll start bringing my car to you guys instead.
