Did Geno have better offers prior to taking the last deal with Seattle? I feel he wants to stay put even if it means another somewhat team friendly deal
Not sure why Jeff thinks Geno would get the Kirk Cousins deal in that scenario when 1) Time adds inflation 2) Kirk got that coming off just playing 8 games and having a major injury. In a scenario where Geno kills it for a year-Geno taking that deal would be him taking a HUGE discount. His market would likely dictate $55 million at least if Kirk got $45 million off a major injury and only 8 games. And in a world where its next man up not based on age; performance these days for QBs. He could argue easily to top Dak at $63-$65 million. They should extend him
I think cousins would’ve got 50+ if he wasn’t coming off an ACL. So yes Geno could easily demand 50+ if he has a great season.
He had a great season in '22 and got nowhere near a top contract as a free agent.
@@iron_bisonby choice. He choice to take a discount to ensure the team could stay strong around him . Geno said that himself. Also that was just based on 1 year. He would have a normal sample size compared to most QBs this time around

I don’t think you pay a 34 year old QB that is seen as the 18th ranked starting QBS over 50 million. What is Geno record vs the 49ers and the Rams with Stafford starting? Not good. That’s your answer
18th rank is bs. And he won’t ask for 50m that’s the point
yea geno didn’t beat the 49ers or rams bc of the injured oline and a bad offensive coordinator, now we get to truly see how he plays in this new system.
