  • The Yonex Astrox 100 ZX badminton racket is the sibling to the Yonex Astrox 100 ZZ - see separate video review: • Yonex Astrox 100 ZZ Ba...
    This has a more familiar feel with Japanese carbon hollow shaft merged with a carbon head from Taiwan. I expect this model to be very popular and become a favourite amongst players.

    Hey Coach Paul, I'm looking to buy either the Astrox 100zx or the Duora Z Strike, they are both around the same price range for me. I'm an intermediate to intermediate-advanced player with a bit more aggressive playstyle. I'm currently using an astrox 69 I bought on sale, I like its backcourt and smash feel but front court feels quite sluggish and defending is a bit awkward. I'd be great if you can offer me your words of advice and help me pick between the two. Thanks!

      The difficulty is that nobody can accurately advise you. I suggest you ask around and borrow both of the rackets, even if you get two minutes hitting with the rackets you can make a decision

    Hi Coach Paul, how is ZX compared to your favorite TKF? Do they have similar attributes given TKF's elongated version? Thanks

    • @TheBadmintonCoach
      @TheBadmintonCoach  4 роки тому

      miguelv I love both rackets. When I received both Astrox 100’s i was amazed how well they played. I did not want to use my TKF, such was the difference in feel and balance.
      Both TKF and ZX handle well, move well and perform well. It’s not always easy to describe how they feel different but they do. ZX feels like a polished version of TKF

      Awesome Coach Paul! I think I get what you mean since I used to own TFK. Thanks for the feedback!

    Is there a picture of the overlap of these new frames with previous oval (z-frames) and iso (voltric 80)?

    Hiii! I’m a doubles player(power player) I already have the js 12m 4u and I’m looking for a spare and planning to get astrox 88D4u and astrox 100zx 4u. Would the feel of 3 rackets is noticeable? If yes, is the diff so big? Thanks in advance! 😊

    How does flex compare to the ZZ, does the ultra thin shaft on the ZZ make a substantial difference?

    • @ovtroll1199
      @ovtroll1199 4 роки тому

      It's meant to get it better handling and more of a stiffer feeling even though the stiffness should be the same

    • @TheBadmintonCoach

      Luminine the flex is in different places and therefore the feel is different

    Hi paul. What do u think the general difference btwn astrox100zz and duora ztrike? 😬

    • @TheBadmintonCoach
      @TheBadmintonCoach  2 роки тому

      They are different shape and feel. ZZ will feel stiffer and possibly tighter on the string bed due to the more closed shape.

      Yaya Gitar medium head heavy with weight more towards T rather than top of the head

    The 100ZX & ZZ are for intermediate & advanced players right? My friends recommended Astrox 88S to beginners with absolutely no badminton training. They actually bought the 88S even though the shops were honest & suggested to buy something cheaper & more suited for their level. I know plenty of players who get injured or experience sore arms & elbows from buying racquets that are too stiff for them. Also because they will buy something like this and string it too high. Then will only play with plastic shuttles.

      Hi! T! Wow that’s a surprise and a bit disappointing. I wonder why they said that? I would not recommend the Astrox 100 to a beginner

    • @TheHi-T

      Because of peer pressure.
      Some people believe they will get a 10-15% discount for buying 2 of the exact same racquet frames at the same time.
      Saw a shop owner explain to a customer. "This racquet is for advance players. I guarantee after 1 month you will come back wanting to buy a racquet for beginners. I'm trying to save you money & time."

      I still consider myself as a beginner,as i purchased the zf2 after 8 months of play. But in my experience, although zf2 is considered for advance player, i never feel that it is the main cause of sore arms and elbow due to the stiffness, maybe for the first time as i was adapting from flex racket and converted onto a much stiffer racket. The main point is, if u play 2 hours-3 hours a week then u should not get the racket for advance player. I have a quite good physique, which almost everyone forgot to mention about. If u are a beginner on badminton but with good attributes from other sports, u shall face no problem as u grow your skills and technique alongside the advance racket and it does help,for me at least.

      I know people who bought the latest advanced models when they 1st started. 2 years later and using that same racquet, they still cannot clear end to end. Hit to their backhand, they give up & leave it for the partner ever single time. They struggle with technique, control, & power. I'm sure if they had tested several racquets of their friends and taken notes of the results, their technique would be much better. Taking notes helps a player understand what type of racquet they prefer.

      It's like if I buy an uncomfortable pair of court shoes. No matter how hard I try, my footwork will continue to struggle. That can be all the difference between getting or failing to get to the shuttle.

    You said less head heavy than the 88d. I was expecting it to be slightly more head heavy that the 88d and less than the 99.

      Which 100zz better for attacking double player?
      4U or 3U?
