Online shopping for Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals have cut down the traffic flow in the stores. As a retail associate I have noticed the difference just the last couple of years.

Before even Black Friday cause the sales were already going, I picked up the ps4 with the marvel spider-man game, and I also picked up a copy of Overwatch and Detroit Become Human each for $20 a piece. That PS4 bundle sold out literally everywhere they offered it, it was crazy! As far as movies goes, I went to that same Best Buy, picked up Incredibles 2, Captain America Civil War (someone put a copy in the sales bins where it shouldn't have been), Ant Man and the Wasp, Hitmans Body Guard, Avengers Infinity War, and Spiderman Homecoming.

The UK didn’t have Black Friday but about 5 years ago the retailers started copying the idea off the USA. The problem with the UK deals though is they are often like 5-15% discount max so certainly nothing worth fighting over or impulse buying because you often get better prices throughout the year then you do on that day. TV’s are always cheap in Dec as CES is held in Jan so out with the old stock ready for the new models.

The only thing worth getting on Black Friday anymore are TVs. Deals get worse and worse every year. Back when Black Friday actually started on Friday you would see like $1 to $4 movies and cheaper gaming deals. Now Black Friday is more of a big ad in itself. They know people will be flocking to stores so they know they don't really need to try anymore. $8 to $9 for movies is not a deal at all, especially since streaming has become so popular and movies can be purchased in like new condition used at lower prices, and the NES classic was always $60, as that is the standard retail price.
I went to Target on black Friday in my city in the Dallas area and it was not as busy as I remembered the previous years. Maybe folks are doing their shopping online this year.
Target's sales were just terrible this year compared to the competition. For example, Infinity War BD was only $7 at Best Buy. Meanwhile at target it was like $12.
The stores around the Boston area were super busy but that was on the ACTUAL Black Friday not on Thanksgiving. Massachusetts dosent allow stores to open on Thanksgiving. I guess the crowds depend on where you live
I got Tag Game Night Kung Fu Panda and Sing Crash and Spyro remastered from Meijer on Thanksgiving I also got Monsters University and Kung Fu Panda 3 from Hard Copies on Actual Friday and then the following Saturday I got Paddington 2 Ferniad and Madagascar and all of the movies for Blu Ray

On black Friday i got 2 blu rays at Target:Deadpool 2&Game night.At Best buy I got Lego DC the flash on blu ray and Justice League Dark.Also at a Pawn Shop i finally got a copy of Streets of fire on dvd.
I ended up getting Batman: The Killing Joke, American Horror Story: Coven and Freak Show blu ray double pack and Shaun Of The Dead blu-ray all for around $30
I guess this is why Apple and Amazon provided lower sales and earnings guidance for the Holiday Season. Primeday could be taking some steam out of Black Friday. After all, what else is there left to buy if you already own everything you want and need?

This was more organized than my Walmart. Mine had all the movies dumped into 3 big bins you had to dig through. I looked for 20 seconds and said to hell with that. At least Target had them in the standees right at the front of the store in the first main aisle.
For as long as we've had Walmarts in NJ, every year the Black Friday Walmart store environment is NO JOKE. The shit you hear about with the shopper MADNESS is real lol. If you're going to give it a go, you better watch your back. As for the other stores I visited, one of the Nordstrom mall locations in Central Jersey was dead. Macy's, busy. Boscov's, busy. Target, dead. Best buy, busy. Honestly, no shockers, there. A couple of things I will add. None of the Walmart or the Best Buy's locations in my area had Black Friday day players help. However, they both had privately paid off-duty police officers working the events for crowd control.

It really depends. Sometimes a few dollar and sometime half off. The big sales are game Systems and tvs and that kinda stuff

Why are Dvd's and Cd's still a thing now with digital streaming
...all about the tangible. Who needs content when you can get slip covers, multi-colored case, etc. Plus there's the art of removing stickers and not damaging the slip. Digital codes and streaming just don't offer all this!
Cds not as much anymore but people still really buy alot of Dvd and Blu-rays Mr President..

I got a wireless cannon printer at Walmart the flyer said 34 got it for 15 regular 49. I wanted some blu rays my Walmart didn’t have a great selection
