As a Shao player i think he should be in high tier. I play Shao Tremor only so i dont get the advantages of the busted kameos like kham and lao but at 1200 health with 40% bnbs, plus frames with axe down (and a 3 input cmd grab), and insane mix; i think Shao is an amazing character. Shao is so good that he could be playable without a kameo. I'm having a blast playing him.

@@chimp510 Without axe Shao’s command grab is Down Forward 2. Reiko’s command grab has 4 inputs. Down Back Forward and a button. I think its 2 but I could be wrong.

Probably been playing Tanya since the second week of the games release when almost nobody else was playing her so I am happy she has finally been recognised. There are so many of my favourite characters in this game but for some reason I enjoy her the most.

The points you made about Geras are accurate, however, I think tremor makes him nasty. At least the tech I've found has been very useful

@@Tac0b3llyfat1 bar breaker is not as good as it sounds. It gets eaten…ALOT cause it needs to be timed within gaps of a combo and is often two bars rather than 1 cause some characters offense doesn’t allow you to get the charges off organically.
I don’t think he’s bottom 3, but there is unfortunately a good argument imo.

@@Primitive01 1 bar to get all the charges in 1 charge. Another bar to actually use it for the breaker. Some characters do alot of pressure at both full screen and up close. Depending on the matchup it works alot better to expend the resources to get 3 charges for the price of 1 than it is to slowly build charges. If you want to sacrifice dmg for charge that’s fine, but again depending on the matchup geras doesn’t have great base health to sacrifice getting a life lead over getting charges.

As a Kenshi main I must say that I 100% agree with what you said about many Kenshi players being baby players. He's quite easy to pick up, most of his combos are pretty easy to perform and still do over 40% damage. I think what really sets real Kenshi mains apart is how well they can perform with the ancestor and without sento. I've seen many Kenshi players do really well as long as they have their sento, but as soon as they use the ancestor they don't know what to do.

He’s actually not easy to pick up don’t lie to yourself, they are combos that are easier to execute that don’t need you to pay attention to spirit. But once you have them in a sandwich you don’t necessarily know what to do you’re also right about the second part once spirit is wasted many players don’t know what to do. I also struggle with that myself.
If kenshi was easy to pick up relatively speaking, how come you run into a kenshi once in a while and Johnnys every few matches - are kl players so honorable that they won’t use him cuz he’s too easy and too good lol nah

Geras’ whole gameplan is being up close, he gets stuffed when zoning, terrible mid range game, and even when he gets close, 90% of his strings are minus and have no mixup, the only character worse is havik, just bc he can break for two bars in most matches means nothing when he can’t do anything else

Really, why general Shao is so underrated? He’s can be easily on the top 10. He with Darrius are a so great team, safe (or plus) mix ups, armor breaker with Darrius half bar ambush. Besides kung lao and tremor, he’s easily high tier
I like tier lists like this, just complete honesty! And not backtracking that much.

Idk about Li Mei I'd put her just behind characters like Ashrah and Mileena. Solid buttons, lacks a good mid. Good projectiles, quickest reversal into big damage, and just overall massive damage. You're feeling it every time she get's a random hit and if she get's a really good hit you're eating up 480-550 damage which isn't uncommon...
nah i main her i'd take a nerf to her damage if it meant less gaps. & her buttons suck. Damage doesn't equal top tier.

You can win against Shang tsung zoners with ermac if you use his green glow and ground stomp.
People up play geras a lot. Character has no zoning, no armor, no d1, and is hella punishable on his mix. All anyone wants to bring up is "1 bar breaker" when in reality it costs 2 bars and is the only thing keeping him relevant.
Grrr won tourney with him. But I agree with you. He's too stubby in his offense.

Can you explain to me why this team is good (except for high combo and throw damage) because to me Kitana doesn't have mix at all nor plus frames ??? And Janet doesn't give her any of the two.... idk
@@adonbanchamek2254 gives her higher damage combos into her wind bomb setups. it's actually a really good team but probably not her best.
@@mewfishmeowscles So just better damage as I thought, not much more. Her bombs are just mids and Janet doesn't give her any overhead like Scorpion does for example.
What would you say are her best teams ? Probably Kameleon, Scorpion and Jax
I really like playing Kitana with Jax. Helps for combos and setups. Really fun.
@@adonbanchamek2254 you can grab them into the wind bomb on wake-up and the only way to beat it is delaying which the kitana can predict. it’s a pretty powerful tool and janet gives you the most damage into it.
I agree with the top tier picks, Tanya and Reiko are very slept on/downplayed. I don't know about the rest of the list though, Reptile and Shao seem a bit low and Sub is def carried by Kham so it's hard to definitively say that he's better than so-and-so. I would argue Smoke is better for the simple fact that he has better mix, better damage, and isn't tied down to one kameo.

I think omni man needs to get higher because with janet cage he can get up to 50%+ meter less which is absolutely insane plus his barry or ex viltu stance and his buttons I think low top tier to high high tier

A lot of people confused about geras being bottom 3 don’t play him so they don’t understand why. Sure 1 Bar Breaker is great but you have to spend a bar to get that started because you risk being punished trying to charge normally. His low starter is negative, his f3 is like minus 30, his only projectile is minus 27 if blocked not even flawless block just regular blocking. 😂 f12 has armor gaps in both of the buttons also has a flawless block punish so it’s basically unsafe. You can literally DUCK his command grab. And most if his normals are stubby so it’s hard to steal/takeback your turn.
TDLR: 1 Bar Breaker is great but doesn’t cover the other thousand flaws in his kit also you only get back like 5% health.
First off you do not have to spend bar to get the three clocks you can literally get them in a combo. 2nd off his best Kameo Motaro can be used to make forward 4 safe. 3rd of all yes his projectile is very minus however the threat of his neutral is in the snap. That snap is dangerous. F12 does have gaps but that’s why you stagger it. He also has a unreactable overhead so ducking him all the time will get you bopped, I disagree with him having stubby normals as well his pokes are really good. And B2 is a decent whiff punisher
@@xeas1096 That why he’s where he is tier wise he needs kameo to bridge his weaknesses. You can armor gap f1 so staggering doesn’t really do much when you can armor it. If you’re getting hit by F3 that’s on you anticipating command grab, I main geras and I’ve had people fuzzy f3 so it definitely is reactable b1 is definitely his better whiff punish in my opinion cause you can confirm into b12 I don’t know if you do play him but besides his d4 or 3 the rest of his pokes are dogwater. Snap is dangerous yes only if your opponent forgets you have it so especially in this patch that isn’t even a problem anymore they basically nullified his biggest neutral threat.

@@LiteralWho25my friend uses Sub Zero kameo and easly charge 1 hourglass midcombo, and then ends combo with a move, when he trows the opponent into hourglass. Boom, 2/3 charged, no risk.

Man, I don't have the enrgy for Kombat League Anymore. It was great for 4 seasons. BUt the higher Up i go, the less fun I'm having. lol. I think God Rank is where I stop.
Ashrah is strong. My main. She is probably top tier. And she has a universal armoured launcher in Dark stance. She is strong.

When people say “good buttons” does that mean easy buttons to combo or the frame data is good or what
Its more of a general term. Like Sindel f1 is a "good button" due to range and safety, armor breaking and no hurtbox, but something like Johnny f3 is a good button because its a safe advancing 9 frame mid. Basically means it has a few good properties to the move that make it a useful tool. It has less to do with the ease of use, but something like how hitconfirmable it is might also play a factor. Another example of a good button is Raidens f4. It's a nice advancing low string that has low profiling properties, its safe on block, easy to hitconfirm, and doesn't have a gap until the third hit.

I personally disagree with Kung Lao. He can get away with so much, the character is practically free. Geras being bottom 3 is also strange to me. I feel like he has a lot of tools, great Kameo synergies and a pretty cool hourglass gimmick (oh and a really fast command grab). He might not have a ton of BS that characterizes the top tiers, but hes at least mid tier
edit: yeah shang needs help, his two forms is a dumb mechanic. Id rather they just combine the two movesets somehow, especially since Young form is useless outside of zoning or ending blockstrings with low spikes
Imo Kung Lao isn’t that good. Definition of the top of mid tier. Not top 10 for sure. Character has no range, zoning is slow, and only is good with one kameo which is goro and is useless without kameo charge and meter. His F2 overhead is ez punish and slow AF and lao gets hardly any damage from his mixups, barely 30% for a bar of meter or kameo usage while most other characters have a 40%+ BNB with one bar/one kameo. Lol even sindel and sub zero have way better dive kicks than lao and lao is the guy known for dive kicks.

And you get full combo punished for it every time cause Lao’s chain string moves are so unsafe and minus with no recovery on whiff. It’s also 10x worse to drop with lao compared to any other character cause he’s the most meter dependent character in the game and is the weakest character in the game without meter, so dropping that combo hurt you more than the other character dropping their combo. Essentially never have breaker with lao for that reason lmao

Even Omni man can just do random things midair and beat lao, cause lao doesn’t even have a hat that can be tossed in mid air that high lol. And Laos dive kick gets blown up if you try to counter, you can’t even trade dive kicks with sub zero cause sub zeros beats lao’s dive kick out every time for a full combo with no meter needed while Laos needs a meter for full combo and Laos dive kick is way more punishable than sub zeros
still early in the video but i disagree with Kung Lao so far. That character is absolutely insane. He might even be better with Janet than Goro. He's not plus off armor but everything else he gets is insane like throw combos and Jento setups. I think he's top 5 free rn
I think lao still better with goro cause of plus frames, but Janet gives him throw combos which makes up for it depending on ur play style. Imo tho lao should be where Baraka is, he’s like the top of mid tier. Stubby range with low damage, useless without meter and kameo charge even when he’s the most resource dependent character since he gets no damage without burning a meter

Reiko is so good people could get top 8s with him at release when all the cyrax/stryker/lao pre-nerf teams were running around. He got slight buffs with tremor release and they're gone, so now he's top 3 for sure imo.

When you play enough ermac’s you understand that placement. He’s extremely difficult to deal with b/c of so many mix-up options. I don’t think that’s ever going to change w/o a nerf of some kind.

You do tho, Rewind is in every NA west top 8, ECT top 8. Akstar was in UFA top 8 with him and other EU/ME tournies. El Cucuy has flat out won and placed in stacked online events with him. Han Rashid has decent results with him too.

You can't just appeal to authority with stuff. Dominick Cruz is arguably the greatest UFC fighter of all time in his weight class, but says stuff way dumber than commentators that never fought. Rain's tools are objectively not even close to bottom 10.
