I don’t think Mavado and Ermac were allowed to be used at this tournament because they were too new
@@roul3688this exactly, Ermac just became tournament ready. Mavado is too early, at least 1 month before you can use new characters in tournaments.
Havik Scorpion seems like a great team, but it seems like a team that’s especially good at dealing with Reiko and his projectile heavy gameplan

People are just folllowers to me havik is mid tier he is my main and my best character against most characters my bad match ups are plus framed characters like lui kang or someone like ashrah idk how to spell it
@@Luis-gn7ln I haven’t tried him but between his projectiles, his range, his armor, little bit of mix and the right kameo, I don’t think he’s low tier. I actually think any character is viable, really comes down to the team and player.

Cause mk1 is trash. No defense tactics or counters, just combos and safe antics with kameos which is the worst decision for a mk game imho but to each it's own.

People just don’t know how to use him.
The reason it doesnt matter too much most of its super easy to block and armor through and he basically can do shit without cameos when it comes to combos since his neoplasm launches the enemies too far for you to combo with in the air and hes so slow that some punishes are such a nuisance
He can bait people trying to armor his plus frames
Day 1 havik and i can say that Haviks offence is good but compared to the rest of the cast he's the worst. Everything has a gap, most of the safe strigs start high and end with an overhead, his only armored move takes 10 business days to come out and can be flawless blocked. The only way to play the character is to hard read your opponent and get in their head... and if the opponent knows the mu you're twice as screwed because everything is slow and easy to block or even counter.
Havik is an idea.. not a character
@@_S_A_P_A_yup exactly, in the right hands he can be tricky but that's about it. Knowing the matchup really ruins anything he plans to go for. Been fighting my friend who's been a Havik main since day 1, I'm still seeing him struggle in the same situations since I first played this game.

People keep sleeping on Havik, have we already forgotten SonicFox lost the first major MK1 tournament to a Havik? People keep neglecting how important hard to read / tricky movesets are when ranking a character. People always look at high damage in combos instead of how easy is it to land a combo & with Havik he has moves that make it really easy to land multiple combos. So yes his damage is low but it’s easy for him to hit you & start those combos. At the end of the day high frames moves might be more positive & faster, but if you can’t read the move, guess correctly or defend against it, than the move is positive in terms of decreasing health & winning a round.

Player skill and matchup knowledge is needed for tier lists to operate. If one person doesn't know a matchup that doesn't mean the tier list isnt correct

Honestly think rewind played this match up wrong. He shouldve just zoned him out all game. Its cheap but i think it wouldve worked.
He was trying for a bit but stopped because he was getting rolled in on for full combos. I think rewind wasnt sure if those were reactions or reads and it made him think twice about zoning

Not gonna lie, I know Rewind is a fucking beast, but I feel like this is what happens when you get too comfortable with a characters cheap/“good” shit. You lack in other areas. Reiko really will just let you get dubs by backing up and zoning. But as soon as your opponent figures out the answer to that, you’re kinda fucked lol Sad to see pros getting comfortable with simple shit like Reiko ninja stars. To me it’s like the easy way out. Probably could’ve beat Havik if he switched to a high execution character. Or maybe Wize is just that good lol what do I know, I’m just a scrubby casual 😅

Everyone shits on nrs for all the wrong reasons, y’all realize mk1 is pay2win or “pay to have a way easier time” look at all the dlc characters rn 2 of them should’ve been in the base game *quan chi and ermac ofc* they definitely squeezed out the opportunity for money and their kits are complex like some mkx shit(which is a selling point of theirs too cuz anything mkx like will bring money) Omni man & peacemaker most definitely have some inspiration in that regards as well. You’ve now finally got a couple more base characters w some moves w cancels or kinda similar gimmicks but let’s go ahead and let this pan out and see the pattern over the life cycle of MK1. the kameo in the base game compared to ANY of the DLC kameos is just plain out-NO competition. All dlc kameo scale less, output more damage AND recharge faster than base game kameo. Not to mention their kits are more complex and have much more moves than most base game. The reason this is so shit is because it’s way too easy to make money off this p2w shit. You can basically pair up any DLC kameo with your favorite character. There’s a secret selling point in ALL of this bs. It’s that your kameo is super valuable so their thinking “let’s make universal broken kameos to make some money” tell me anything I said is wrong ?
The only thing I see wrong with them charging for additional kameos / characters you think should already be in the game. Is that the money isn't going to tournament.
Give it time. It’s obvious asf the kameos have been mad experimental. It’s a real possibility they’ll rework a lot of existing ones to be up to snuff with the dlc ones. Till then it’s not like these og kameos are bad, you can get wins with underused ones like Goro or darrius just as much with khameleon or janet depending on how YOU play

@@Auggies_Life that’s not the point I was tryna make I’m just saying you can get good usage out of the lesser kameos. Smoke and rain are fun asf with Goro, among the most fun to play in the game imo, frost kameo too to fish for setups. Darrius with characters like ermac and liu just change what you’re used to seeing when you fight those characters. You keep seeing kameos like janet and khameleon cuz people like what gets them the most consistent wins more than what’s more fun to do but that can be said for literally any competitive game with tiers
