Thank you both so much for sharing your wonderful recs! It would be great to hear more disability recommendations from you both in the future. Happy Disability Pride Month!
Thanks for these great recommendations thanks sweetie 😊 Would definitely love to see Simone more 😍😍 Can’t remember my last good book with disability rep but you know I always look for them 💜
It really helps having rep that you can relate to and can help others understand different conditions and disabilities.thank you for highlighting this.
These videos always point out that horror, YA, fantasy, romance and every other genre are so much better at including disability rep than lit fic, and I just don't get it, having an amputee best friend or a deaf mother adds another layer of complexity and understanding. This was a cool video, I always enjoy seeing the 2 of you interact.
Such a fan of both The Black God's Drums and Get a Life, Chloe Brown! Talia Hibbert released a YA romance this year, Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute, that I also adored.
Wonderful recs! Just Sayin' and The Black God's Drums sound particularly good to me. The last book I read with disability rep was Oh Baubles by Harmony Kent (a cute, little love story). Yes, I'd love to see Simone on again, soon!
I loved Get A Life Chloe Brown, it’s my fave from the series. Added A Different Sort of Normal to my Wishlist. Thank you both for these fab recommendations. Love seeing you both together for this too 🥰 I think Emezi’s memoir was probably the last good book I finished with disability rep in. ❤️
I have to admit I think Dani brown is my favourite so far! But I still need to read the third and final book. We hope you enjoy a different sort of normal ♥️ and I didn’t know Emezi was disabled! I am looking forward to reading their memoir.
YES would love to see more videos with the two of you! 💗💗 and I really loved Honestly Elliott by Gillian McDunn! the main character has ADHD and a side character has Celiac's disease
I love the variety of genres and styles you included on this list! 👍 Haha, I saw the Cyborg Cat book in the description and though "I didn't know Ade Adepitan wrote a book!" and then Simone introduced it that way! 😆
This is a great vid! I've done a few of these types of vids in the past, definitely need to put the next one out, it's been a while! I'm currently reading Ring Shout! I would love another video with you two :D A few recent ones I've really enjoyed are Sixteen Souls - which has a double leg amputee as the main character - and The First Move - which is own voices and has a young character with arthritis as the main character
I would love to see one from you as well! And ooh, hope you're enjoying Ring Shout as that is high up on my list of books to try. I didn't know sixteen souls had disability rep D: Colour me even more intrigued 😚
Loved the outtakes at the end! And as for some recs - everything by Elle McNicoll, there's also an indie sci-fi series by Kaia Sonderby with is own voices autism rep - it's called the Xandri series and I adore it!
We're always full of giggles no matter what we do 😆 Ooh yes, I loved the dyspraxia rep in the first McNicoll I read and I need to get to more of her books as well 😌
@@OliviasCatastrophe Love it when you have a relationship like that with someone, where you laugh all day long, no matter what you're doing! And you do, her books are incredible, you'll love them I'm sure!
Such a great video. I really liked Seven Devils, need to finally get to the sequel. And Chole Brown is great. I really like the Quiet Kind of Thunder and it has a deaf character.
Being Heumann sounds v good. I love the artwork in I Am Not a Label! I just found out I'm autistic a couple years ago so I should def read A Different Sort of Normal 🤔🤔
Saving this one so I can add every single book I've not already read to my tbr! And it's so cool Simone was able to go to the Paralympics! I only got to go to the Olympics once (wow my privilege is showing) and it was the football 😅
Aww yay, I hope you find some gems here in this list of recommendations. I can't believe the olympics were in the UK, and I was in the UK at the same time too, and we didn't go to anything 😝
Thank you both so much for sharing your wonderful recs! It would be great to hear more disability recommendations from you both in the future. Happy Disability Pride Month!

Thanks for these great recommendations thanks sweetie 😊 Would definitely love to see Simone more 😍😍 Can’t remember my last good book with disability rep but you know I always look for them 💜
I will definitely ask Simone if she wants to film a part 2! And yes, love your advocacy for disability rep too 🧡

It's true, I do think genre fiction and younger age audiences tend to be on it more than literary fiction 😢 hopefully that can change soon!
Such a fan of both The Black God's Drums and Get a Life, Chloe Brown! Talia Hibbert released a YA romance this year, Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute, that I also adored.
I am glad you loved them a lot! I really need to get around to more Talia Hibbert 🤗
Yay! Disability rights is a huge passion of mine and the theme of all my writing ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love that you include it in your writing ✨
Wow! That's pretty impressive. I have a lot of respect for people who write about Disability rights. I love writing about it too
@@thewheelchairteen3058 I don't know if it's impressive, just something that I care A LOT about! :)

I would really recommend them both! Especially just sayin'. I love a cute Christmas love story 🎄
A part 2 would be lovely! I most recently read All the Feels which has an ADHD character.
Will ask Simone if she is up for another! I truly am. Ooh, will have to check out all the feels in more detail. I know the cover though!
