the drummers style is too sloppy, maybe he intended it to be that way for the piece but I don't see him pulling it off here, for me at least
Give him a slack, almost they all are so old that much effort would lead to a stroke.
Personally, to my untrained ear, the drummer's syncopation seems to be fairly true to the original recording of the song.
Well, he (Pascoal Meirelles) played on the original recording back in 1972.
