I am brazilian and I'm very sad watching it, because here in the Brazil the people usually dont listen him, or others singers, we forgot the real music, keep doing it. Nice vídeo dude.
true if you mention Verocai most people have no clue...but isn't that the same in every culture...black artists in the USA are often more embraced abroad...
I knew him because of his ties with Ivan Lins and Vitor Martins (a brilliant lyricist also unknown by brazilian audience), but I've never heard of his album until I listened to Celia's Na Boca do Sol version. Then I searched for the original composer and found this gem by Verocai. Now I listen to it everyday, even in my car stereo. Thanks God!

FiasaPower Can I give you a suggestion ? Listen Baden Powell And Vinicinius de Moraes, Os afrosambas, i hope you like, after tell me what you think
This album, this man and his genius God send music is one of the greatest blessings to human kind. If you love music, listen to this itleast once and enhance your music life. In my top 5 greatest albums of life.
Amongst the 100 greatest Brazilian Records of all times! And that’s saying alot bc Brazil has some if the greatest music in the world! #1 to me is “Clube da Esquina”.
Omg I got the fuckn chills. I absolutely love this album heard it in Sacramento at pieces my lady got the album for my birthday and I listen to it all the time it’s my favorite
I'm from Brazil and I got into Arthur Verocai because of BadBadNotGood, altough our population doesnt know much about him (appart from the media and artists) like they know Tim Maia, I'm glad his last concert here at São Paulo was fully booked, even Mano Brown, one of our biggest rappers sang a song he made with Arthur Verocai there. Its a matter of time until he becomes more famous, I dont think he'll achive the level of celebrity other artists have, cuz the newer generations like mine are not into old school MPB. I try to talk about his songs in all opportunities I have, a true genious.
I don't know why people rave about Verocai so much.He was a very good arranger,a good songwriter and a barely adequate singer, hardly in the same class as major figures like Francis Hime ,Eduardo Gudin or Guinga , none of whom the average Verocai fans have probably even heard of.
Mr Bongo.. you guys are great! Most of the reissues really suck! Awful sounding and cheap packages.. but you are just great! As a collector I really appreciate whenever there's no barcode on a reissue.. every reissue should be done like yours! Hope you'll reissue for us great titles such as Seasons by Pete Jolly, David Axelrod or Dorothy Ashby's Afro Harping.. difficult to find and not greatly repressed.. these would be a dream made by you!
shadowmoon you trippin, I can't believe you allowed the energy in your thumb to text that mess..but everyone has their opinion. The album and artist is still one of the greatest after and before your thought.
I deeply hate how insanely underrated he is

FCK YEAH MR. BONGO! ✊🙌
Arthur Verocai é foda
A fucking legend
unfortunately in Brazil only people over 40 listen to Arthur Verocai
How can he be so idolized by foreigners and here in Brazil few people know his genius?
At that time, thousands of great artists were being discovered all over the country. Not surprised he was kept unknown.
I don't know why people rave about Verocai so much.He was a very good arranger,a good songwriter and a barely adequate singer, hardly in the same class as major figures like Francis Hime ,Eduardo Gudin or Guinga , none of whom the average Verocai fans have probably even heard of.
Accessibility is the key!
