Funny how the microwave seemed to be the easiest to cook compared to an iron or a coffee machine ... but it turned out to be the hardest for Alexis xD!
I think it's because she's not used to it and doesn't understand HOW it works. I actually use a microwave quite a lot in my cooking so can see where she's going wrong:P The microwave heats food in a really strange way, as soon as she put the garlic in for 5 minutes I was like "oh no..." I often heat cloves in the microwave and they get too hot to touch within like 10 seconds.
The difference is research and habit - it was mentioned a few times that Alexis doesn't normally use a microwave. A person who uses one knows about spill overs and uneven heating. She also seems to do everything in High Power. Using reduced power and pre-heating liquids would have helped her a lot. The polenta cooked in the huge measuring up would have helped. She could have heated it, taken it out, then covered and waited for a while. Then repeat. Similarly she could have heated the oil, then put in the fish, then after 5 minuted used the microwave at like 30-50% power.

@Kelly Jose An addendum to Jerry's answer. It's actually always at full power, the difference is for how long it's producing microwaves. So, for instance, if you put it at 50%, it cycles back and forth between off and full power (i think it's like 5 or 10 seconds on and 5 or 10 seconds off) so that it's on for 50% of the time. So it's a "gentler" heating than being on full power the whole time.

She kept going though! Real failure would've been just giving up when things didn't work out the first time. I liked what she said about "I can't let my confidence level dip too low or I'll start making mistakes" -- I need to remember that haha
me at the beginning of this, thinking " I use a microwave for meals all the time, this should be easy" me at the end, "HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO MESS IT UP"
@TrapDaddyXOXO how are you spoiled when you put in the effort to cook your food in an oven( or just not in a microwave). Its more work than using a microwave is, so she puts more effort in yet she's spoiled😂
So, to everyone who originally thought that this should not have been a challenge for a chef, let me explain. Basically, the challenge for this mean was not the fact that she was using a microwave, but the fact that she was using it without having ever cooked with one. So rather, it's not that it's a weird cooking appliance, but one she's not familiar with. Most people on the cooking web should know that you can cook decent meals with a Microwave (even our chef here knew it could be done), but actually KNOWING how to cook with one is a different story.
@@umt6429 I know Gordon Ramsey almost got a stroke when he saw a restaurant use a microwave so I doubt chefs ever have or use them. I don't have a microwave, only used it at work to reheat my food. If I had to make food in it I'd be so lost. Would probs just use it to heat a ready-made meal 😂

She would absolutely do better and have more confidence if she had done research ( that’s just how I feel ) because she was judging and doubting herself so quickly, and the result was actually pretty good
I'm crying laughing because she didnt even know how to USE a microwave before this I didn't know it'd be that Difficult, even if you've never done it before 😂
I don't think it's gonna work like cooking from scratch but I tried reheating food with a blow dry last night(a meat bun to be specific), it took me a good 10mins but hey my food's not cold and not too hot at the same time.
psa: don't reheat food with a blow dryer, it encourages bacteria to grow because you're slowly heating up the food which causes a moist, warm environment, whilst a microwave instantly heats food and doesn't encourage bacteria.
Never put water in a microwave ahhh basically the frequency of the two involved in the reason why pure water with little to no impurities will explode in water :”))
You can do that pretty easily actually. I do it a lot when I am bored of washing more pans, plates etc. It is easier to cook in a rice cooker because it keeps the moisture inside while the food cooks.
She owned it with the iron and coffee maker but with the _actual_ machine used for food?

So with the clothing iron and coffee machine she was fine. But an appliance that people use to cook with all the time.
*PURE INSANITY*
Benjamin Liang Literally said she never uses a microwave.
To be fair, she was not allowed to research beforehand
@@aquagamer1212 Okay but that doesn't change what that person said because surely she never cooks with a coffee maker or iron either lol
You oddly copied the guy’s comment that got 10K likes. To get likes?
People don't use microwaves to cook wtf you talking about lol
I felt so bad for her. Everything went wrong, but she powered through it, so good for her.
"Kind of chunky....."
Well at least Moto Moto would like it
No
BAHAHAHAHAHA
Lol
You just had to say it huh...?
Bruh I can't HAHA!
She should cook only using a blowtorch 🤷🏼♀️
Oh my god! Thanks for all the likes!
Benny Fernandez it’s in a controlled environment and she has a lot of experience
It sounds extreme but it's actually easy, she can sit the blowtorch as a stove position and use it as normal fire.
@@N3K0Cloud I think the catch would be, she can't do that. That's kind of cheating.
Nice idea!
that's extreme!
“This is too easy”
-Alexis before she becomes scarred for life.
Alexis: I'm going to try and challenge myself.
Also Alexis: *Fails to turn on the microwave*
Everyone does mistakes ;D
@@Solavbro agreed

😀
She kept going though! Real failure would've been just giving up when things didn't work out the first time. I liked what she said about "I can't let my confidence level dip too low or I'll start making mistakes" -- I need to remember that haha
If you're not failing at the beginning then it's not a challenge :)
me at the beginning of this, thinking " I use a microwave for meals all the time, this should be easy"
me at the end, "HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO MESS IT UP"
WTH is that profile pic
She didnt research anything
TrapDaddyXOXO really?! OMG
@TrapDaddyXOXO how are you spoiled when you put in the effort to cook your food in an oven( or just not in a microwave). Its more work than using a microwave is, so she puts more effort in yet she's spoiled😂
@TrapDaddyXOXO Yeah, cause cooking eggs and hamburgers is just as difficult as her recipe 😒
Nobody:

LMFAOOOO
I don’t really get how this is funny
im the 666 like
Coffee maker: (not cooking machine) :Easy
Iron: (not cooking machine) :Easy
Microwave (real cooking machine) :Noooooo
Well no research right?
three course meal using an easy bake oven 😂 😂 😂
sunee dee omg yes she needs to do that 😂
sunee dee
No it will be extreme chaos
It will be easy compared to the microwave
I love this idea
Alexis: this is too easy!
A few minutes later....
'this is so hardd'
I am pretty sure I am in love with Alexis. She is a very creative cook and stunningly beautiful. I love the way she reacts when things don't go well
How creepy that you find it attractive when she's nearly crying. Wtf.
Charis Cat Um, what.
Broo...
Punk Is dad
how is it weird to be complimenting someone?
@blah I find attractive people attractive, if they know how to use the microwave is an added bonus
Bit you'd think a chef would knwo how to sue a common kitchen appliance
@@umt6429 I know Gordon Ramsey almost got a stroke when he saw a restaurant use a microwave so I doubt chefs ever have or use them. I don't have a microwave, only used it at work to reheat my food. If I had to make food in it I'd be so lost. Would probs just use it to heat a ready-made meal 😂
@@DiggandDugg
Unless her parents were also chefs, your comment makes no sense. Most people her age grow up with microwaves! We got a microwave in my house in the 80s.
@@user-ph3ji8gp3p
You can cook all sorts of things in the microwave. It isn’t just meant for reheating.
@@anti-ethniccleansing465 I guess? Maybe this is an American thing, most people I know don't have a microwave in their house, they never had one, or got one recently. Mostly I notice parents with small kids having one these days. So I don't know how it makes no sense that some people don't own microwaves?
i clicked so fast although... *why a microwave, thats pretty normal*
30 seconds of the video: *OH OK SHE CANNOT RESEARCH. seems fair okk*
aye thanks for the blog mate
effy yeah I agree it was really really informative so thank you jiro
Alexis should cook only a hair straightener or a waffle maker. 😂
Somadra Nouv isn’t a kettle a bit similar to the coffee maker?
@@Minimotionsickness nah
@@Elisarouyt it actually is very simialar depending on wich you got.
Americans don’t have kettles, that’s why they make coffee on the stove
Devils5lut huh? Yeah we do lol
She would absolutely do better and have more confidence if she had done research ( that’s just how I feel ) because she was judging and doubting herself so quickly, and the result was actually pretty good
Jianna.got.bored I don’t think she’s allowed to though. They surprise her with what appliances to use
Jianna.got.bored she wasn’t allowed to do research
See 0:24
Karitza Puentes She was only not allowed to do research on this episode
eh - anyone else think that she failed because this was the only video she couldn't do any research for?
Kally McDonnell Yupp
I think they thought this would be too easy, so research would make it not interesting.
I'm crying laughing because she didnt even know how to USE a microwave before this
I didn't know it'd be that Difficult, even if you've never done it before 😂
Believe me it is 😐 I used it for the first time yesterday and nothing much, just blasted an egg in it 🤦😭 it's disaster
Can this chef make a 3-course meal using only a blow-dryer?
Idk if it will get hot enough
Maybe with a heat gun??
How?! just HOW?
I don't think it's gonna work like cooking from scratch but I tried reheating food with a blow dry last night(a meat bun to be specific), it took me a good 10mins but hey my food's not cold and not too hot at the same time.
psa: don't reheat food with a blow dryer, it encourages bacteria to grow because you're slowly heating up the food which causes a moist, warm environment, whilst a microwave instantly heats food and doesn't encourage bacteria.
She should do a air fryer, pressure cooker or a slow cooker next
She was co confident in the beginning and said that it was "too easy".
I bet this only failed because she didn't get to do research. I demand a redo!

Imagine the time spent lol
DON’T GIVE THEM IDEASS
You can do that pretty easily actually. I do it a lot when I am bored of washing more pans, plates etc.
It is easier to cook in a rice cooker because it keeps the moisture inside while the food cooks.
u can basically cook anything with a rice cooker
15:14 Alexis gives the microwave a MICRO-WAVE 😂 cause at this time, she was done with the challenge 😂😅☺️
