Markham Ghost Town in Seminole County

There are many layers of history here at Markham Woods in Seminole County. In the late 1800's it was a turpentine community found by William Markham. As I explored through the woods I could see some evidence from the past. There are also a lot of nice trails here and places to roam. www.waymarking....

this is wild... grew up riding my dirt bike on those roads back there and had no idea of all the history. Great video!

Theres an old graveyard back in that area with tombstones from the early 1900's that i used to always show friends.

Not sure exactly were you are in the area, but as late as the mid-70's there was a pump house and small wood water tower just off Markham Woods Road about 50 yards from SR46. Don't know if that had any relationship to the town you're referring to or not.
