I have the A53, and I downloaded Warzone mobile, and it played and looked great? I don't understand why people think these midrange phones are trash? I paid 150 bucks for my phone, and I pay 15 dollars a month for data, and it meets and exceeds my expectations. I always ask people how much gaming do you honestly do in between wifi locations and the answer is little to none. I honestly almost never exceeded 2 gigs a month.
The exynos in that device, which is 1380, feels like the flagship chipset in 2018-2019 like my Samsung note 10 plus if you compare it has the same(not really the same) antutu score.
The main issue with this phone (in my country at least in SEA) is that there are dozens of phones you can get that is marginally cheaper than this phone that can perform better for gaming. An example is the infinix note 30 5g. It's about $180 converted and can play games at fairly high settings (genshin overclocks as the video says though), has 5000 mah battery with 45w charging and even has bypass charging for when you're gaming to prevent battery damage (apparently). Obviously the a54 is not a dedicated gaming phone but there are a lot of choices here for less than the price of this phone. Is the selection limited in the US for phones at this price? You can argue about the software support but you can also argue that you can buy a new phone at $180 every 2 years and you'd still spend less than the 256gb variant of this phone.
For anyone wondering, when you walk into the tech section of our mall here it's like a fish market (literally as salespeople will swarm you asking if you're looking for a new phone). Here are some of the brands you'll find here for smartphones (not even sure if these are all of them). Nokia Samsung Apple Motorola Wiko Huawei Oppo Vivo Realme Oneplus Tecno Infinix Xiaomi Poco Google Nothing Phone Honor Cherry Rog Legion Used to have sharp, panasonic, sony, asus zenfone as well. I got a brochure from Oppo and it has 14 different smartphone models on it you can choose from. It's really confusing to get a phone if you don't know what you actually want and which brand you want.

The US seem pretty restrictive with what they let into the market which is a shame for the consumers there. Tell me, does Samsung offer freebies when they sell their phones there at least? When I purchased my s23 it was on special sale and I got a free charging adaptor (which is great since it doesn't come in the box), a 10k mah Samsung powerbank, and the galaxy buds2 pro as well. The a54 came with the same free stuff but instead of the galaxy buds2 pro, they were offering a pair of galaxy buds live.
I used to buy phones from those brands esp Xiaomi. My problem with them is that they cut corners on the build quality and not just the plastic outer of the phone, mine had really weak glue on the motherboard so although it is good at games, it sacrifices its lifespan since the heat from the games melted the glue easily and made the phone unusable after like 2 almost 3 years. Idk with other phones but that's my experience, it was a poco x3 pro btw. Samsung phones tend to have longer lifespans.
As someone with an a33 (theoretically the same performance as a53) of all the things I've been dissatisfied with, the gaming performance I found perfectly fine. Wreckfest, Minecraft, and Muse Dash ran satisfactorily, so I don't doubt this'll work too.
Im playing PUBG mobile and Geometry dash and I have good performance. Most people are complaining but I think people that really have the A54 know, that we can play games as good as the "flagship phones"
Thanks for the review. I cant bring myself to drop $900+ on an S23/S24. For the one mobile game I play, the A series will be just fine. I think at this point, Ill just wait til March for the new A55.
Pubgm doesn't support higher graphical and fps options But if you play pubg new state mobile it has 90fps option on the a54 if i remember correctly, and higher graphical options

Hi steve...Can the a54 handle shooting videos & edit them without overheating...people around who have used previous Samsung- Exynos products are confusing me... I previously used moto x play & while shooting videos it gets warm in 5mins & because of that , the phone also stutters and lags...So plsss help me out in making a decision Steve
I mean, it can handle the shooting...I was able to do up to 12 minutes of 4K without it getting too warm...but as for the editing, I don't know, the midrangers really I don't think were meant for that, but it's possible.

I think snapdragon is good in general. I have A70 and Tab S8 and both use snapdragon chips. Since my A70 is getting older with 6GB ram the gaming performance went lower, especially after recent undates in Genshin. I'm playing Genshin with mid setting on Tab S8 and it works perfectly. I wonder if A54 is good.. I'm thinking of changing. But since I'm not familiar with that chip I'm a bit worried.

A73 chipset is better (SD778G) Also for Asphalt 9, A73 support 60 fps while A54 not supporting (this is an example for understanding which is better )

It may can but this mean you are playing 30fps even if your just lower all the graphics down.
