  • The second in a five-part series featuring Dr. Ali Colleen Neff's ethnographic work with women vocalists of Dakar, Senegal. This segment documents the work of praise singer Soukeye Dieng, whose family has gathered for three days to celebrate the wedding of Bigueye Sene, Soukeye's cousin. This work is based on the filmmaking of Trinh Minh Ha, who in her 1983 film, Reassemblage, documented the cultural creativity of people in the Senegalese countryside.
