    I’m a big fan of AHA’s and I couldn’t get enough of them. I’m using several types and brands. Pixi Glow Tonic, the Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution, the Ordinary AHA 30% and BHA 2%(amazing, amazing product) Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant, Alpha Skin Care Enhanced Renewal Cream 12% Glycolic AHA and the Alpha Skin Care Intensive Renewal Serum 14% AHA.

    I watch way to many of these videos, I buy so many recommended products and get overwhelmed on how to incorporate them in my routine. It gets very frustrating to me and definitely brings out my anxiety. I wish instead of showing us products that you would give multiple examples of products that can be used in the same routine like for acne or sensitive skin and so on

    Neostrata glycolic acid smoothing cream. Started with the 5% which was all that was available at the time when i started using it in 1993. When they added the 10% product, i switched to that. Now i alternate neostrata with my retinol product nightly. I always get compliments on my “glowing skin” at 63!

    Sometimes UA-cam makes no sense to me. I posted a perfectly innocent comment about my love of glycolic acid, and the post keeps getting removed. There was no profanity or disrespectful language. I listed three brands that I recommend, and mentioned that I also microneedle.
    So who did I offend?

    When you have mild eczema and are forever stuck in the "beginner" category. 😫
    I've been using the La Roche-Posey Effaclar Clarifying Solution as my morning toner before applying my Cerave vitamin C serum, and I've been loving it! It has 0.5% salicylic acid and 2% glycolic acid in it. I've been using it for months, and it hasn't irritated my extremely sensitive skin. I don't intend on using anything stronger than that as the irritation would completely reverse any anti-aging benefits.

    • @americanfairy
      @americanfairy 2 роки тому

      @@logiclanguagelearningFrench Sorry, your question didn't quite make sense. Are you asking if the toner dries me out? Only a tiny bit, but that's why I apply a moisturizing vitamin C serum after it dries down. I then follow it up with the La Roche-Posey Anthelios Light Fluid Sunscreen in SPF 60. This also adds a touch more moisture back into my skin without making me a shiny grease ball.

    I'm not a huge fan of AHA. They sting on my skin. Glycolic Acid caused bad breakouts, and Lactic Acid caused a lot of tiny bumps on my skin. Mandelic Acid is the only one that doesn't irritate my skin. And i'm saying this as someone who barely experiences any irritation or side effects from using a 0.1% tretinoin gel.

    Dr. Locke, thank you for such an informative and helpful video! I noticed that the Glytone website also offers a Exfoliating Serum - 17 that I am considering. How does this differ from the Glytone Rejuvenating Cream 20? I am mostly interested in the anti-aging benefit of glycolic acid. So on the days I don’t use adapalene at night I’ll use the ahas in that night routine. Those are the days I’ll shave in the morning. That way I get my shave in for the day and still get my aha in for the day. But still keeps them somewhat separate to avoid the irritation. It’s been working for me.
