  • It's been a long time, and I need to get back into the swing of things with my videos. I'm going to kick back off with a multi-part WIP parade! In this section, I'll go through how I keep track of what WIPs I have in progress, how I store them, and then show you a container's worth of WIPs. :)
Thanks for watching, and please subscribe! Suppliers and projects featured in this episode will be listed on my blog here: measi.net/flos...

LOL I love the sound of a Trapper Keeper! Your temperature chart looks great. I'm in the process of a temperature chart too - I'm soooo behind LOL and I just bought one for next year 🤦🏼‍♀

So my reason for getting antsy (not offended) by showing backs is that back in the 1980s when I brought my first finished cross-stitch to a framer, the person who took in my order was quite horrified by my back, and made many comments about how awful it was. Forty plus years ago I am still sensitive about my backs.

I'm so sorry that happened to you! Situations like that definitely can scar and haunt people for years. :(

My aunt once commented on my back (which I thought was quite tidy). Her criticism about not starting in the center was more understandable as the piece was off center, but I had enough margin regardless so I decided to disregard her comments.
The only time I think the back might actually matter is if it's something people will always see, like a handkerchief or towel. Or if you do a reversible? stitch. (Blitz stitch a few years ago was trying to do a piece and was struggling to get the stitches correct. I think that piece is in time out currently.)
So your ex-framer can go kiss a toadstool. The only thing they should worry about is did you have enough fabric margin.

Are you on Instagram? I'd love to follow you there. On your coffee stain... I LOVE it!!!! To me it looks like smoke from a potion coming out of the washing basket. Maybe the witch washed her laundry in the basket with a spell then hung it straight out? Maybe it's poison from a deterrent she rinsed her laundry in to keep pesky children wandering in her woods away? I would love to stitch this and hope to stain it so perfectly 😊

I am, but sometimes I do forget to post my pictures there... I'm @measiwitch. And I like your story... I'll go with it! :)

*cheers you on for a few finishes to help start start organizing the madness and moving out the worn out bags*
*whispers 3 finishes before a new start 😉*

Thanks for the cheers. Three finishes is totally unrealistic for me, honestly... but I'll at least try to keep new starts to small projects to balance all of the huge ones!

@Geekywitch it looked like you had 3 smalls ready to finish? 2 ornament exchanges that didn't happen and I think something else was close-ish?
Nobody says the 3 finishes need to be larges. Just a few finishes to allow you to retire the dead plastic bags.
I'm over here at 13 projects and thinking I need 2 finishes before a new start. (But I'm driving myself batty as it seems the same 20 floss colors are used in every project regardless of designer, so I need to remember who had the bobbin last. 🤪 And I'm not talking about black/white/greys either. 154, 312, 745, 3810.) I somehow keep picking projects that look dramatically different in color but use the same colors...make it make sense!
