Thank you, Dr. Webb. I am a medic in the army and have actually just accepted a slot as a fight medic. Similarly to what you did, I am also going to school.
I was a bit disheartened to hear that your medical military background didn't help your med school applications. I will be approximately 30 years old by the time I finish my pre-med degree and finish my military contract. I feel that I'm a bit on the older side of going to medical school, but I'm glad to hear that you stuck through it despite being some years behind your peers.
    Thank you, again.

PA school is a great route as well! 2-3 years of school and no required residency. only reason I would say to consider med school instead is if you're sure you want to do something like surgery. PA schools love what they call "patient contact experience" so your medic experience would give you a huge advantage. They value it much more highly than med schools because PA have less formal training whereas med school they know you'll be extensively trained. worth looking into!

Dr. Webb , your story was so so real and inspiring. I was on my first 15 month deployment in 2003. I was based right behind from you, at LSA Anderson. It was right next the passenger terminal. I just retired, Now I’m doing a career change into medical field as a nurse. It’s weird starting over due to my age and that I’m going to college with my daughter, a future physiologist. In the same sense I feel unstoppable. So don’t stop motivating us. Great video

You're an inspiration Dr. Webb! Very similar life here. Grew up dirt poor, and many of my peers went to jail. I went into the Army. I did pre med classes at a local community college. The Army was both a blessing and a curse. It took 7 years, and a career change to get my degree. I'm now an RN living a comfortable life, but having gotten that experience I'm now about to get back on that train and start my Med School journey soon.
Would be amazing to see you do more outreach lectures to Americas youth; both black and white. Show them how nothing shackles you down or holds you back but you and your own decisions.

Dr. Webb your story is amazing!! Iam a first year college student who wants to become an CRNA. I was born with HIV but am undetectable and I’ve always wanted to have a career in medicine. I am still undecided if I want to become an anesthesiologist because I don’t know if I am smart enough for it. How did you change your mindset to believe you could be what you are today?

Dr. Webb, we need ppl like you to help repair the country. Why didn't you become an addict like ur mom? Why didn't you stay in LA and become another statistic? What role did racism play in your journey? How did you overcome these obstacles? I liked hearing about all your rejection letters. That didn't stop you. Your story is an important one, just like Dr. Ben Carson's story.
