I got mine a couple weeks ago, run it a few times so far, I love it! Swapped out my safariland for it, and im glad, lower profile, more secure mount on the belt, more adaptable. Haven't had any hot spots as of yet, but im running an inner padded liner like you. Also at a negative cant too. Worth the money for a lot of capability.
I keep going back and fourth. Been using the same basic mid ride for 12 years and my friend suggested the safariland leg shroud. Then I discovered this, and I can’t make up my mind. My only concern about this one is the threads coming loose on the belt, whereas safariland loops through the belt. Is that an issue?
6:01 I feel you, little man. Oreos are awesome. Haha I had to. Great video as always Jim! Nate and the guys at True North are awesome.
Haha thanks! Yeah they make some dope stuff
Just ordered the True North adapter.
I’ve been running the Safariland flex mid length with QLS.
I think this is going to be a much more streamlined set up. I just hope the True North is not too rigid for me.
My Safariland always gave me hotspots.
We’ll see
NICE, this is perfect for me. I run both the RTI and QLS systems!
Dope! I think you’ll like it
Man, I don't know about this. I just got mine a couple days ago and have had a little time with it. The thing is a solid block of aluminum lol. While it's nice that provides a slight more amount of rigidity, it makes it more uncomfortable in just about any dynamic situation at all. I haven't yet tried to slide on the ground, but even just grabbing the bottom of the holster and pulling it outward I can already feel that solid block of aluminum digging into my hip bone. Imagine if that happened because of an impact or fall - I'm thinking shattered hip. I think there's a reason the Safariland setup is made of polymer. I'm willing to give it a bit more time to see if it improves, but so far the comfort has been a definite negative over my safariland setup and I'm definitely worried in the back of my mind about doing something that causes an injury just due to its pure rigidness. 😬 I find it weird nobody is talking about this. (sitting, getting in and out of cars, etc… is also a similar issue)
tinycrumb any updates so far?
@@xXExTreMexBuLLeTXx Not really? After I put my SL setup back on I haven't messed with it anymore. I didn't sell it, so I sorta assume that I'll try it again at some point in the future. But I don't really mess with my gear too much, so once I find something that works I just run with it.
@@tnycrmb yeah I’ve been watching this product for a while and the absolute absence of anything negative to be said about it really makes my spidey sense tingle. Did you ever give it another shot. I mean it kind of looks good if you never have to sit down you’re only gonna be doing cqc or flat range or something. But if you’re going to actually be out in the field I don’t know. And there’s also no real reviews of this product it’s all tabletop unboxing and first impressions.
@@tnycrmb I thought about just getting a drop flex adapter and not using the shroud and putting the holster right onto the adapter with the strap running through like you do a UBL
Do you only weigh 125 pounds?
I was told about this by a guy I work with overnight because I’m wanting to switch mounting systems, type it in to YT and BAM, here’s your review! Well done, I’m sold. Will be waiting for black to be in stock though.. Great video, you covered all the points and questions I had about this system.
Glad I could help! You’ll really like it. Since I’ve been running it, no comfort issues.
Pulled the trigger and got one. Just installed it and I’m already loving it more than the plastic safariland part.
I just ordered one. Caught it on sale so I got it and the leg strap. Gonna put it on my new belt and my UBL is staying on the old belt.
Just pick one up at rainier arms in Wichita. OD green. Bring it up again we’ll vote on it. 😆
They’ve also made an RTI adapter for the gcode holsters. That’s what I run and it’s pretty good also 👍🏼
Yes thank you for saying this. I have switched over to the Safariland and G-code combo and so far it's the best overall configuration.
I just installed my True North Concepts Holster with the G-Code Adapter and Holeeeee SHIT was that confusing to put together. Wish they came with instructions or a video on their website so I don't have to figure it out through their stock photos.
It was basically a puzzle.
However, once I figured it out, it looks beautiful and I'm happy with it.
Could you PLEASE put up a video or reply to me with pics on how you did it. I have the gcode holster and can't figure it out!
Did you have to purchase their adaptor plate separate? To make the RTI hanger work? Trying to figure out the puzzle myself
So you can't just mount an RTI wheel to the MHA and you have to buy an adapter??? I thought the whole point of the MHA was that you could mount any of the popular 3 hole pattern quick detach systems??? Sounds like just another way to squeeze more money out of you
I'm setting up mine right now! 🤗
So, one thing I haven't heard anyone talking about is interference with safariland holsters and how close the holster is to the MHA so much so that I have a hard time getting my thumb in there and breaking the ALS when the holster is mounted on the lowest position. The screws on the safariland holsters also keep it from being flush with the plate when mounted directly to the plate. So you essentially HAVE to use the QLS system with the MHA. I didn't plan on using different holsters with the MHA but it's not a deal breaker. I just gotta go find an FDE QLS kit now.
Would the t-plate spacer work so you don't need the qls system?...maybe...
Does anyone know how it feels wearing it in the seating position? Even though it looks solid, having to get in an out of a car constantly, it kinda concerns me. Great review.
I'm waiting to hear about that too
As am i
@@MrRyryrose @chris Johnson ive been using mine for almost 2 months now, and i can say its definitely more comfortable than the ubl. (It takes up less space on the belt and doesnt create a hot spot) the one slight drawback that i have is that without the leg strap you do get slightly more holster flip. I do not recommend their brand leg strap. They are too thin and the extra bracket rubs on the leg. They offer the vastus system which in my opinion is far superior as far as comfort and securing the weapon to your body. If you dont plan to run a legstrap or change the cant of the gun, i would say stick with the ubl. (Side note. Taking the positive cant away does make it harder to draw from inside the car using the MHA compared to the ubl ) these are just my opinions, overall im happy with it.
With our leg strap that pivots/stretches more we haven't had any issues in vehicles.
This is the only video on UA-cam with this product. Looks like a great product. Also I want to get one but I’m afraid of the extra added weight.
I’m sold. I have been looking for something like this for a hot minute. I’ll be getting one very aoon
Quick question - you guys have trouble sitting in a vehicle with the TNC adapter / holster combo? We use the ALS attached to the TNC adapter with legstrap and jumping into a truck seat is a challenge. Just wondering if others have had this problem and found a solution.
With our leg strap that pivots/stretches more we haven't had any issues in vehicles.
Been looking for a setup like this. Can you tell me what items I need to use this mha? I have a paddle clip on my holster but not sure what I need to convert it to this setup. Thx
I wanted that intro to ride out for a bit. Dope content!
Great video , definitely getting one . Had a question, what company is the holster ?
in the Lowest setting, is it equal to safariland Mid ride or Low ride? Or is it slightly lower than Mid ride?
Thank you.
Your videos are great.
Thanks amigo!
Can I use the g code wheel? I love Safariland holsters, but not the QR system they have.
Can you mount a g-code rti too it?
I only went with g-code because Safariland didn't offer a holster for my vp9 with surefire x300.
Great video!
with this setup, the mha leg strap kit isn't really necessary then>?
Anyone know how to get a G-Code holster with RTI holes to mount to a Safariland fork? The holes don't line up. Adapter anywhere?
any issue or concern of the bracket bending?
Jim did you attach the QLS plate directly to the True North hanger or did you use the rubbers inbetween the QLS plate and the hanger? Many thanks dude:)
Rubber inserts but you can get a replacement stick of rubber and cut shims the size you need/want
@@jimmybrodriguez got it dude thanks, noticed without the rubber spacers the QLS was hanging up on the hangers screw heads when removing on/off:)
Question, will the Alien Gear Duty holster be able to mount to this? Will hole match up? Thanks!
We need a follow up vid
Anybody know if this is compatible with the Safariland (Model 745BL). I’m trying to run a Safariland mid ride height holster on a 1.5” belt (I’m done wearing an inner/outer belt setup). Using the standard UBL has too much play, and causes the holster to slide behind my hip. When I mount the 745BL clip directly to a mid ride holster, the ride height is way too high and makes it difficult to clear my armor.
Quick question man, I attached a QLS plate to the MHA and the locking plates with the three prongs that feed into the back of the plate aren’t and cannot snug down all the way. It’s like screw, MHA, rubber, QLS plate, triple prong. I can’t get get them to not pop out and it’s screwing up the QLS/holster pop in. Like I was forced to get the vax, has it made me stupid here and I’m missing something simple?
Have an update video on this?
How is the holster holding up so far?
Our Police Dept. Will not let us go with anything but Safariland plate! And Safariland holsters.
I also have the True North Concepts adaptor and love it. I carry a 6354DO ALS for my Glock 17 MOS / Trijicon RMR / Streamlight TRL-7. Does anyone have a recommendation for an identical Safariland holster that fits a Kimber TLE/RL2 with a Streamlight TRL-7? I've had no luck with Safariland's holster finder. Funny thing is...I still can't get it to return a 6354DO holster in the results...but I have one...go figure. (or I could order one from QVO Tactical, but not get the 10% because the discount code doesn't work anymore, then wait 16 weeks lead time...)
First, I love your channel. And the first comment.
🤘🏼
I can’t find one in stock anywhere
Who makes your tourniquet holder?
Great content. I appreciate your presentation…
Better than safarilands loop system that takes a month to ship.
You need to get the vastus system from Anrdesignllc it lowers the leg strap so your nuts don't get chafed.
What’s that belt TQ holder?
Soil Eater. 10/10 recommend!
Soileater BMTH,
How does the leg strap secure? Do you need the adaptor that true north sells?
For their leg strap you do need an adapter. You can also sandwich any leg strap on the market between the holster/QLS plate and the MHA. We also offer a leg strap that mounts and pivots with a grommet.
Having trouble mounting to a Bianchi 2 1/4” duty belt.
where you able to mount it to your Bianchi 2?
@@jalvero1779 I got it, you have to ditch the rubber spacers for the screws in order to mount it directly to a duty belt and not on a molle belt
is this thing compatible with Blackhawk?
What brand is the holster?
What shirt is that?
How did you set up the thigh strap?
He put it in between the True North Platform and the QLS plate.
@@SkintSNIPER262 thanks homie
Solid!!! Too bad they out of stock
They should be back in stock soon
@@jimmybrodriguez They finally came back in stock and I snagged one, totally awesome piece of hardware!
Can you or anyone tell me what youre using to hold ur tourniqet?
Soil eater
Bestest TQ holder
What gloves are those?
In a previous video he said they were Mechanix gloves he got for free at Shot Show.
Jim's Goon Life has some great stuff. Where is he based out of? No way its CA.
Texas I believe.
Texas
Yeah I’m based out of Texas...the greatest country on earth lol
Where is True North Based out of? Is their stuff Made in the USA
Went checked out True North's website. Loved how the said their products are made with pride. Definitely grabbing a hand stop, adapter, and stickers.
Yes they are made in America. I have their hand stop too. They are a great group.
We are in Mt Joy PA. Everything is sourced locally in Pennsylvania
And of course they’re fucking sold out. If someone has one they wanna sell, I’m your guy.
Level 3 holsters won’t worth without the QLS kit, just FYI
Blackhawk compatible?
Got a question...why do you refer to "running" a particular piece of gear instead of "using" "wearing" "carrying" or something that makes sense? Unless you're actually running with the gear - moving your legs rapidly faster than a walk - then you're not "running" it. I know, I know - it's the "cool" way of talking "tactically" but it's so so lame and conformist, in a segment of society that prides ourselves on being independent. LOL anyway, just a thought...
Much of our drills, training, and competitions require running so I use the term running. See the tac games video, steel match video, range day videos or any of our training videos.
@@jimmybrodriguez no big deal. It’s a trend in this industry to refer to what gun or gear you’re using as “running” it. It’s just funny.
Great video!
Wow! Curious, Have you ever left your car running outside?
@@randmartinez Yes, that is why he hasn't responded. He left it running, and it ran away while he was out of it. Left his phone in the car...
Big fad .. don’t need it , makes no difference, no need to reinvent the wheel
You’re not too bright are you? This is definitely needed with thinner- rigid belts that are popular.
@@henrylee5542 have fun with your cosplaying weirdo , tons of guys who are real world operators are doing just fine without it 😎 this is marketing to get wannabes like u to buy it.
