a demo showing that it can do regular synth tones as well as the weirder tones it excels at using only the functions in the oscillator section.

I have wanted this synth since I first saw it.mfb has discontinued it.i was fortunate to recently get one.
wow. i didn't know it was discontinued.
i wonder if they are going to do another flagship mono synth to replace it.

Got mine unused for some time now. Trying to find new inspiration for using it via these videos. I love the sound and the synth, though. Never parting.
Same thing here. I love it, love the raw sound, fantastic oscillators (i like a little less the filter), the basses are full of bottom end, but i actually rarely turn it on. I use to go straight to my sub37 because everything is easier, quicker to set on, and i prefer the filter, but the oscillators are definetely less "vintage" than the Dominion ones, less interesting.
Does anyone have a file of the factory sound set?i bought a sound set from the site that mfb directs u to now that they have discontinued it.i will eventually get into enough to understand its sonic possibilities.i am also lazy and like to just purchase sound sets and pick and choose sounds.
Is there keyboard transpose on the panel?
Hi - I'm gently circling the Dominion - I already own a 3 osc x mod synth (Roland SE02) but the form factor is rubbish. I would like to make snappy plucks - can the envelopes handle that?
The envelopes and LFOs have an overall fast and slow speed in the settings so both have a huge range.
shortcomings are no MIDI CC values on synth. so you can't sequence any changes other than mod wheel, velocity and standard things.
No tempo sync on LFOs but you have key sync.
No modulation matrix. you have to use the options in each section. I occasionally found i couldn't do something.
the pitch and mod strips aren't as responsive as you'd think and you have to press harder than you'd think.
when using it in paraphonic mode (3 note chords) all the notes jump to the last note released so you can't have a chord fading out (weird).
so it does have its quirks but i think there are way more positives to it. huge range of sounds. I just wish MFB did an update to LFO sync and paraphonic playing.
Probably for the best that the filter is half way closed the whole time...
might sound like an odd question but i am looking for a monosynth that is good for routing guitar and other audio through got any recommendations (that aren’t the ms20 or Grandmother) that have good filters and effects i am looking for something odd or not super mainstream I guess which is partly why i found this video
i recently did some videos on the dreadbox typhon.
part 2 shows the FX including a great reverb.
the synth engine is all analogue with digital modulators like LFOs and step sequencers which you can use to control the filter or anything really.
its worth a look.

Your way of tweaking is almost the same as I do it with mine, ha. Especially the pentatonic lines!
One has to consider, that the weird FM, ring and (them taming with the) sync sounds have a better use for percussion and mystic sound effects played with no sustain and short decays. They can turn your musical approach into a very unique masterpiece.
Together with a fast and short use of the arpeggiator sometimes its fascinating..
i know what you mean, i guess i just tried to show raw tone of the dom 1.
most synth people (ie probably people interested in the dom 1 in the first place) can imagine how they would use it for different sounds with envelopes and lfos for amp and filter as well as using modulation for pitch / synch and fm.
i keep meaning to do a couple more vids as most online demos of dom 1 don't really show its strengths (and weaknesses, though i still love it) .
Pure acid and industrial tek machine!! Best mono in my book ever made. I order one of this direct from mfb via music store de took em 3 months to do it is coming via ups monday🖤🖤 How is the sequencer as a slave to other gear?
i never use the internal sequencer.
its a little cryptic compared to most things on the synth as everything else is laid out inffront of you.
its a great mono synth once you get used to how things are patched together modulation wise.
@@mrleonnine can it be sequenced with a beatstep pro then to keep things tidy? Yeah i figured it about the mystique sequencer placing and function. Mfb always had a thing going on about weird internal sequencers 🤣
@@raven-jz6cv i think the beat step pro would be the easier option rather than the internal one. you can use the CV channels to control each oscillator pitch which would be cool.
to control the pitch of all oscillators as one you just plug into Osc 1.
I never used one with it though.
