Nice video as always guys. 1:00 I have started to hold the darts in my left hand the opposite way (point forward) so I can't grab the next dart super quick. It has helped me not cheat on my follow through.
One thing that nobody ever mentions in these instructional videos is the importance of keeping the arm relaxed. Plenty about making sure you have a light grip which will help but the arm can still be tight and make the follow through more difficult. I find a relaxed arm is a huge help and also loosens up the wrist.
Hi! 😊 When many pros releases the darts, for example Littler but also Luke H and others, the darts points steep towards the ceiling and goes in an arc to then land very upright in the bord. Pleased, talk about that throwing and releasing technique. Great series…😊
I have a problem that it takes a bit longer to get my release fluid and relaxed, I need to throw atleast 40 minutes to get the relaxed and accurate follow through, at the start of practice my throwing hand goes all around, i feel the stifness in the elbow the most do probably because of that.
How much of your practice time do you suggest focusing on mechanics of your dart throw to try and instill proper technique as opposed to drills that are more results and aim focused? I would think a certain portion is needed to get used to or to reinforce just good mechanics without the distraction of overly concentrating on what your hitting or is that off base?
any tips on how to combat such a "hook throw" as you called it? I noticed I occasionally end up with my arm extending slightly to the left, resulting in darts going to the 5s, sometimes even the 12s depending on my hand. is there anything you can do besides "paying attention during practice"?
I have the same problem always goes to the left..... I can't seem to extend it fully or keep it straight.... I get to prob 90% of the follow through.... Just can't get the full follow through
What would be the best way not to hyper extend your arm during follow through? I sometimes have that problem because i have hurt my arms when younger and actually while boxing
Try turning your hand palm down just after the release/before you "lock" or hit your elbow, look at MVGs follow through, I've found that stops the pressure onto the elbow joint
@IxSMELLxICECREAM thank you for the advice. When I get my hand well again I have to start practicing that more. I have been trying to do that but sometimes my throw just jerks and thats when it happens most. Maybe i have to learn a little smoother throw.

I believe this is what I need help with myself . I have a few wayward darts myself

Can you elaborate on the rolling of thumb thing? I believe i'm affected by that

How should the throw ‘feel’ i.e. does the arm/hand move like a rainbow shape or does the hand move like a jab towards the board?
I’m stuck here with the same problem also
@@T_Tse4385I feel like I throw better with the ‘jab’ like motion 😂 to inconsistent with a rainbow arch ‘feel’ … no idea if this is right though 😂😂
not one answer to that but it needs to be relaxed

check out the stance video this could be the problem
Should you flick the wrist?
I always throw in a 5, whatever I do and wherever I stand
aim for the 1...:(
