844Steamtrain Here's ANOTHER showdown that has come to my mind, and to set the stage for the showdown, I use a half moon (quarter moon) the night sky, angled to look like a scowling angry eye. This showdown will be the Clash of the articulated Norfolk & Western Twins - Norfolk and Western 1218 VS Norfolk and Western 2156. I consider the two engines twins due to having similar body shapes, albeit slight differences to one another.
I need to admit, this has got to be one of the best videos I've seen of the 1225! And it's great to see our old Bi-Levels from Metra here being put to good use while the MDOT tries to get their act together. Excellent stuff here!
Nice video, I've never went to see Pere Marquette 1225, you should check out the Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad in Flint, one of its steam locomotives, #152 had been returned to service this year, you should check it out on railfans weekend
If I may make a request for a versus video, could you please do: 3-Truck Class-C "Pacific Coast" Shay, 3-Truck "West Coast Special" Heisler and a Class-C 3-Truck Climax? It would be quite interesting to see the results. All three are 3-Truck, American-made, standard gauge, geared-type steam locomotives that all competed with eachother back in period. I’d love to know how they stack up against each other.

Gliding through the mountains and the snow YOU CAN RIDE FOR FREE if you just say yes! Cause that’s the way things happen on the Polar Express, when we get there we’ll scream YEAH, We’ll arrive with a *clang clang clang* *woot woot woot* Laughing all the way!
Robert Heinkel The diesel is mostly for supplying power to the to the passenger cars and I don’t think 1225 has a generator car for supplying Power to the passenger cars
Such an awesome machine! Can't wait to see it!
If you need help knowing the roads and places, let me know! :)
Will do!

I like how at about 1:30 the engineer sees the photographers and roofs it.
What an incredible experience. Thsnks for sharing.
Awesome video!! You finally saw my favorite Steamer!
Spectacular footage mate. That is one awesome locomotive!
Man this is probably the 4th vid I've seen where a deer has played Chicken with PM 1225. The "rock versus the window" analogy comes to mind. :-P
Es ist ein Hammer das Video .Danke vom Peter aus Berlin Germany
steam locomotives are iconic.
844Steamtrain Request!: Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 3751 vs. Norfolk & Western 611
Awesome
Cool as the 765 is, she’ll never be as cool as her older brother

Glad to still see big steam running despite Amtrak's stupid decision

You should do Frisco 4003 vs nkp 765
This engine was in The Polar Express Movie.
Why in the movie does the kid say it's a baldwin?

Current state of pere Marquette 1225

Epic!
When was this? My friends and I were up there recently
Also who thinks the engine should have that whistle that was used on it in the 1992 nrhs convention
Hey 844, can you compare N&W 1218 vs. UP 4014?
I did that
Now I want some hot chocolate on Polar Express
Nice machine, but the diesel unit on the end ruined it

The car between 399 and the last bi-level is the power car for the train. The 399 is there to pull the train back to Owosso.
The coaches look like C&O
The best loco in the world
What would happen if
*Steam trains became electric?*
#polarexpress
Bobbleheads are not suitable on steam trains.
