I would never expect complex origami on this channel, but here we are. Mad respect, I would love more of these. Can't wait to drop everything and start folding it this evening.
Edit: Sucesfully folded the base purely from CP. Now I am revisiting to see the shaping process and also to compare the folding process of the base. Its funny how I tried to fold everything at once during the collapsing, and here it is folded with such ease and elegance. Thank you for this beautiful model, highly recomend to fold this from CP only for anyone who wanna learn or practice box pleating CPs.

    Square unfurls, then folds anew,
From flat to form, a creature true.
    Paper whispers, secrets kept,
In wings that soar, or beasts that slept.

very nice tutorial! You found a way to make a really charming scorpion with a surprisingly nice folding sequence even though you used box pleating. I'm going to have to try out some of your creative pre creasing methods the next time I fold a box pleated origami form the crease pattern.

Managed to finish but paper was too thick so it didn't stay as flat as I'd have liked and there was some tearing. However, a great model and one I will definately make again. What is the name of the paper you used, if you dont mind me asking, and do you have a source to purchase from? I am based in the UK.

I watched it to the end at 1 am. Beautiful piece, might try to fold it in the future, if I find thin paper for it. (Printing paper is too thick for creations like this imo). The only thing you could do to make your videos even better is by mounting a light source which looks the same direction as the camera. I would love to see the lines of the paper to see how you're folding it, but sometimes your hands' shadow makes it hard to see. More light could solve this :)
