The title says no experience needed but some of these jobs do require experience or some training or college degree. Although that might not be a lot of hands on experience but that is still some form of experience.
I've been trying to obtain employment as a data entry clerk for over a month now. My career has been that of a legal assistant. LAs must be detail-orientated and a fast typist, but I'm finding that many companies still want experience in data entry. I've also explored transcriptionist jobs, because again, as a LA, pulling dictation is part of the job. But the transcriptionist jobs I've seen thus far pay poorly.
It's shocking to me how many people are having trouble transitioning or adding work. I feel both compassion for the people here who are struggling, and for myself because I am not alone. I hope some of us will start companies that will have different hiring practices. I hired a hustler I met in the subway who was selling swipes for a dollar. He was rough, but he had a way with people. I put him in my part time business making $15 an hour after taxes ( = cash :). He worked for me for 6 months before the vaccine requirements changed and he found it best for him to leave. He didn't have to take an exam, have experience, type a number of WPM or be willing to put up with rude customers. It was short but an alternative to how it's often done, proving it doesn't have to be like this.
@@bc3937 I thought it was the right thing to do, to protect others, and it was also the law at the time. It wasn't tyrannical. Everyone had a choice to get the vaccine, or not come for the appointment. Thoughts?
I was a legal transcriptionist not that long ago and nothing came to me already transcribed. I had to listen to the audio - sometimes very bad audio - and transcribe it per the guidelines required by the client. Note, I did not transcribe as a sole proprietor, instead I was working for a large company that received audio from numerous clients and often various state agencies. You only get paid when the client accepts your transcriptions and then pays your company, so payment for your work could be delayed for months. Furthermore, due to the often poor audio quality, it took a long time to transcribe some tapes reducing your actual per hour earnings to only a few dollars per hour. It is not all sweetness and light like this video tries to portray.
As a Graphic Designer and creative team lead for over 16 years, who has worked in all aspects of the creative process from conceptualization and planning to execution, believe me when I say it is categorically false to suggest to people that "there is no experience needed" to be a Graphic Designer. It's just false. Not only are companies looking for you to have a great portfolio, but companies also expect hires to come with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Art, Fine Art, Multimedia or related design industry, generally speaking, but we are also looking to employ people who are immediate assets. For example, creatives with a minimum of 2-3 years experience (5-7 is preferred) and most companies have the expectation that new hires are fluent in the Adobe Creative Suite including but not limited to Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. There is a new trend of Graphic Designers even having some working knowledge of 3D software like Autodesk Maya. The far end of expectations for employers who don't have a budget for a web designer or don't really understand the difference between web design and graphic design, they are even expecting Graphic Designers to also have web development skills and experience with HTML5 and CSS. So yes. You DO actually need experience to land a job as a Graphic Designer, and you'll need a lot of demonstrable experience at that.
Sorry but, just letting you know that the reality is with most ads in the job banks for most all of these positions you mention, are not with no experience, as all the jobs I have looked at require previous related experience.
It's nice to see a lot of these don't require experience, but sadly I'm finding literally every work from home job to require experience and any that don't simply pay you 100% on a commission basis which is nerve wracking and they require obtaining some kind of insurance selling license.
If you have transferrable skills, you can use that as experience. Also, I've found that most companies just want you to personalize things. They want to know that they are special to you. Otherwise you're just sending out a bunch of resumes without tailoring it to the job description that you applied to. They want a cover letter that shows who you are, what you have to offer and makes them feel important to you. I've gotten so many jobs without a degree or experience just by doing that alone.
3:00 Data Entry sounds like a nice route for me. If I could work from home, I wouldn't mind working full time. I've been feeling introverted lately and prefer to work alone I suppose.
