Child of Hope Secondary School 2023

Child of Hope runs its own two nurseries, a primary and a secondary school in poverty-struck areas in eastern Uganda, and supports some children at other local Secondary Schools and Vocational establishments. This video is about our Gill Sherlock Memorial Secondary School.
Providing free education gives our children the opportunity to help lift their families and community out of poverty, gives them aspirations for the future, helps them develop leadership skills and guides them on the choices to make in order to achieve success both now and in the future. The selection of pupils is based on poverty and vulnerability, not religion or tribe.
We want our schools to be a ‘beacon of hope’ to our slum community - something that stands the test of time - to show that we believe in the community and that we’re not ‘here today, gone tomorrow’. So they are built to last many, many years.
