Instructions: 1. Install the Egzumer mod. Check the link in the description for a tutorial how to install 2. Use a decent antenna to get the best reception, eg an AL-800 antenna 3. Find a busy frequency range for air traffic in your area, eg in my area it is 134.000 MHz 4. Access the Spectrum Analyser by pressing the keys "F" & "5" each one at a time. 5. You should hear some activity on the airband. If you cannot hear anything, then try another frequency range or listen during the day when air traffic is at its busiest. Also make sure you are getting reception for signals to be received, eg try outdoors.
I bought the same antenna for my Quansheng, but I don't have the little silver bit at the bottom. Did you modify yours? If so what does it do? Or is it just an aesthetic change?

No I did not modify it. It sounds like an aesthetic change, as it is only a silver label with the name of the antenna.
can it also transmit on the airband?
No.
