Can’t help but to grin when the Rubber Duck comes to the line and launches. Looking forward to you making changes to the Mustang and seeing what it can do.
Great video, know you will make some improvements with it eventually. Looking forward to watch that in the future. Loved the rump rump on the firebird, nasty as!
That’s not the cam. It’s actually blower surge caused by a rich to lean condition. It can easily be tuned out but a lot of guys leave it that way because it impresses all the 15 year olds at car shows. 😉
@@danmyers9372 I'm well familiar with blower surge. That's what makes it sound like a heartbeat, like it's alive. I'm talking cam overlap at idle. That thing sounds fantastic!
Good video, just a regular day at the track. I don't ever remember going to the dragstrip no matter how much prep was done and something needed to be tweaked or fixed but thats the fun.
Put the 3.73's back in it, get a decent converter and 6's should be easy. I'd toss the Glide and get at least a TH350 or something with overdrive for Drag and Drive stuff.
I’m not claiming to know anything, I’m only asking. 404whp seems really low!! I was thinking a small cam bolt on LS would break the 400whp mark, so I would THINK with that big of a blower (that’s a decently rowdy blower), even on low boost, that it would make quite a bit more, right?
I thought it made 505 to the wheel and he said he didnt want to push it with no ring gap in it. Not knowing the boost # and just assuming maybe 10 and some change, on just a cammed 5.3, at first i was thinking it was close to a 100 short but i was thinking turbo not considering parasitic losses so him being conservative not pushing i would assume the #'s are probably right. Plus you really need to spin that f1a94 so everything is probably shifted to the right and probably not seeing the R's to make good pwr.
Yeah that converter was WAY too tight. The car sounded like a car with a big single turbo that took 2-3 seconds to get up into boost. I’m really surprised the lower rear gear didn’t help the car get up onto the converter sooner. Guess it just needs more power!
Dave! Put the 15's back on your '57. That's my favorite car of yours mostly because of the wheels you had on it. I am a Ford guy but I won't say anything about the LS in a fox.
OK DIDNT WAIT TILL THE END YOU MIGHT HAVE A CHANCE IF YOU HAVE ONE OF HED'S BEER MONEY SPECIAL WITH A BIG AND NASTY CAM BUT STILL BEER MONEY IS FAST AS HELL THAT MIGHT STILL BE A LONG SHOT
A "big blower cam". Show me a cam or blower manufacturer that recommends "big" cams for "blowers". The purpose of a "blower" is force more air and fuel through the valve openings of a "small" cam. Heavy duty turbodiesels making up to 50 psi (absolute) of boost and doing so continuously "indefinitely" do not have "big" cams. Or "big" valves. "Big" cams tend to "leak" a lot and defeat most of the purpose of a "blower". Same goes for nitrous. No nitrous system manufacturer ever recommends putting nitrous on an engine with a "big" cam because once again they tend to "leak" and that is a REAL bad thing with nitrous. 99% of "nitrous backfires" are the result of wannabe "engine builders" trying to run "big" nitrous with "big" cams that at "low rpm" are always going to "backfire". Cam "lope" is due to valve overlap and "leaks" at low speed allowing fuel and air in the intake manifold to get "polluted" with exhaust gas during overlap. The "lope" is actually a lean "miss" moving among several cylinders. The slower an engine runs the LONGER THE VALVES ARE OPEN AND THE MORE TIME THERE IS FOR "LEAKAGE". MORE OVERLAP MAKES IT WORSE. SO THE ENGINE "LOPES" AT IDLE AND THEN "SMOOTHS OUT" OFF-IDLE WHEN THERE ISN'T SUFFICIENT TIME FOR EXHAUST, FUEL AND AIR TO "MIX". BASICALLY IF YOU MIX "BIG" CAMS WITH POWER ADDERS SPECIFICALLY INVENTED TO...WAIT FOR IT...ADD POWER WITHOUT ALL THE BULLSHIT EFFECTS ON "DRIVEABILITY" AND DURABILITY AND RELIABILITY THAT "BIG" CAMS CREATE "DOWN LOW" YOU ARE COMPLETELY CLUELESS ABOUT ENGINE FUNDAMENTALS AND BASICS, "HIGH PERFORMANCE" PARTS AND COMPONENTS AND HOW THEY "MAKE POWER" IN AN "ALL MOTOR" SITUATION AND HOW POWER ADDERS WORK.
sounds like 3.50 gears no 4.56 I thought for sure you was leaving in second gear or that is one sick pig 5.3 hell seen much much quicker little 5.0 fords just being honest man that was second gear take offs no way that was 4.56 gears unless your using a power glide
i blame the shirt. can't be good luck! lol. good times, lets do it again soon, homie!
Tell the truth. Did you get the Datsun from 12V Dave?
Was I the only one trying to see what Finnegan was pulling his race trailer with?
The Ole roadkill curse!!!! Not gonna a lie... I don't put the stickers on my cars!!!!!!!
Love you fin your the man ,
Probably karma for selling the ramp truck to “thin the fleet”, just to buy another truck while shopping for another 😂
You are getting this UA-cam video stuff down buddy!!! I look forward to yours and Finnegan’s so much! Keep up the great work!!
I like that cool magic trick, she was standing there and just suddenly disappeared. lol Thanks for sharing your adventure with us.
And her water bottle! Reminiscent of high school film making class.
Good to see you and Finnegan back together, if only briefly.
Absolutely!!!
Newbern your a great addition to my daily viewing thank you! Keep up the hard work sure it’s a lot behind the scenes!
Love the disappearing lady! She just up and vanished! Lol!

That's awesome Dave , really like the panel that swings down with all the electronics
Love your shop, very jealous
Firebird just idles NASTY.🙀
Glad to see you guys hanging out again.
Like seeing you and finn back together
That is a big difference!!!!

You were only 500hp short!!! Lol. Beer money is no joke. Lyle is a legend that few know.
Should have a coyote.
The Duck's cam idle gives me goosebumps!!😂

DAVE, is that a crack in the roll bar where you are pointing?!
Awesome video David! 🇺🇸💪🏼
I was most worried about that black GTO beside that LS engine making a Dyno pull!😜
1:30, when I was a kid... We called that Shittin' & Gittin'😲
🤣
Another good one 👍👍

@@stevenbelue5496 I think first round setup was 404 and the most recent was 505. I would imagine your assumption is prob right though.
Car is looking good. When you put the big motor in the 4.56 will be way too much gear but you’re on the right track.
You and Mike seem to be really nice people.
I'll bet the trip to the grocery store was a smoke show trip 😅 look forward to seeing with the big block Dave. Cheers mate
is pretty fast, but why not glorious panther platform?

Great content thanks for sharing
Drag week with 4.56:1 gears!?! You’re an animal!
505hp should go 6.20s . I hope you have overdrive in that thing. That's a lot of gear. Can't wait to see the new combo
Good Ole Nikky Bobby.. That kid is a go-getter and talented.
Awesome brither!!!
Thanks Dave!
I've seen a few bowtie powered Fox bodies.Build what you want no one else will.
Dave, is that a 25.3 cage?
that thing leaves the line like a herd of turtles lol
Steel AL?
No hate for the ls bud i like the car
This is why I’ll always be a turbo guy. All that money for a blower just to be disappointed
I thought that Mike said on his channel that he couldn't drive any of his cars with his broken leg.? So who drove the Rubber Duck.?
I think it's his left leg, can't push a clutch pedal.
i got the green light from my doc the day before this track test to drive an automatic car. this is the only one I can drive right now. :)
@@FinnegansGarage Thanks. I was just kinda confused.

Stroker Ford is what's in mine and it run 5 95
Yep ... more stall ... lot's more stall!
you didn't have 6 volt there for good luck that was the problem!
Needs a looser converter for sure.
Just keep feeding that Mustang all your Lunch Money.... she'll go fast... or she won't!
Who is the girl in the white jacket?
Its the converter…
With the holley dash you lose the fuel guage. Not good for a street car
Surely painting a cage in a car
Would have to be one of the worst jobs ever!?!
You may need 24V
