7:50......yes I saw that Hammerhead.....they will get my attention real quick!!!!
haha yup!
..just recently somehow i got a youtube recommendation to one of the videos from this judah clark dude and his bikini-girls. man, i thought things cant get lower then that.
but then watching one of your videos again , gives me joy and hope that there are still some humble, talented, caring and creative people in this country.
thanks , and keep up the good work....
haha really appreciate that! glad you enjoy the channel!
He’s a wanna be playboy fishing fake that Judah what’s his name . A hole
Yeah guys judah clark is a joke. Hurt my heart to see Kelly Young on one of his vids . She looked like she was pissed the whole time. She's a good woman. Gabe is a good dude. Aaron is probably on of the most sincere humble and talented guys out there.
The little thank you at 14:28 was one of the best parts, I thought I was the only one and crazy for always saying that every time I would take a fish's life! Absolutely love going back through and watching these vids over again!
I feel every fish I take! always been that way not sure why. and love to hear that!
Great video, love the commentary and small tips. Thank you!
Could you maybe do a video on rigging the float line to the shaft and such? Just getting into the sport and want to know the details from a pro!
absolutely! can do a video like that! thanks for watching and taking the time to share!
Wow! Really nice woo- hoo's. But like I always say great vedio's. Keep up the good work.
thank you!
Had wahoo grilled with hollandaise sauce at a small restuarant on cedar key, fl about 25 years ago. Am 51 now.. it was amazing. I have fished all my life and caught every that is exceptional to eat ( to me ) except for hogfish, tilefish , queen snapper, and a few other deep drop. Best tasting fish I have eaten to this day is that wahoo lighty grilled . Still rare in the middle. Never had it sashimi. Gotta try it. Sorry for the long a$$ comment Aaron
thats awesome! I always tell everyone wahoo is hands down my favorite! its so versatile and delicate! thanks for sharing and appreciate you watching!
@@KeyWestWaterman Yes sir! You are a great guy. Just gotta laugh about a comment some of your fans , including me , said about Judah Puke. He made sick just watching one vid. He's a moron
Easily becoming one of my favorite fishing/outdoor channels. As someone who probably could never get the courage to go spear fishing in anything more than 6-8ft of water its incredible to watch some of these dives in open water. Damn also the clip 6:24 at where you spear the trailing fish so your bud could hit the one in the lead is exactly what I'm talking about, that's absolutely pro.
Love to hear that! And hope you get the chance to try it some day it’s an absolute blast!
any tips on locating wahoo?....water temp, depth, whatever...lol thanks
we typically look for bait in clear water around some type of structure. doesn't always pan out, sometimes they just aren't around. and sometimes you get lucky. don't watch water temp a ton, but if its abnormally cold we try to find warmer water.
@@KeyWestWaterman thank you
Love bunch of hooters you had there. That was a stud you shot man. Another great video bro keep em coming..
they never get old! thanks for watching!
I’d like to see how the back of your boat is set up on different days you go out. Like bartending or A surgeons table everything has a specific place. Reach for it without looking and it’s there. At least I would think it’s like that?! Great video! -Angelo Charleston Sc.
haha its not as organized as you'd think ! lol normally scrambling to find something!!! thanks for watching brother!
We usually eat most of them sashimi style, season and grill the tail end sections or lightly sear. Great stuff Capt
I love them all ways!
Awesome as usual. What a day man. Must have been a blast. Keep it coming. Your vids are always amazing.
really was an amazing day!
You are the best , on you tube , by far.
haha really appreciate that!
Love the videos mannn keep it up!!!
thank you!!!
Great video at last back back in the water keep them coming awesome fish and yep the people want footage !! 😃😃
trying to keep them coming!
ive been waiting for a new video, awesome as always . thank you for sharing your knowledge
trying to keep them coming out regularly! thanks for watching and sharing!
Raining here in Pa. nothing better than binge watching your video's. Better than regular T.V!!!!! Thanks Again!!!
haha happy to hear that! thanks for watching!
Another great video. Look forward to all you work. You are the real deal!!!
really appreciate that!
AWESOME!!!! FOOTAGE!!! LIKE ALWAYS!!!! 👍😎
thank you!!!
Brother I enjoyed the hunt so much I couldn’t think of anything else. Anyone who owns a boat knows it’s something that always costs money to operate. I am looking forward to seeing the next video
really appreciate that! thanks for sharing!
Yup, it also about persistence. Some people think we shoot record fish every day. True is we spend a lot of time and efforts just searching and learning until we encounter a chance to maybe land a fish. Great video as always. Keep it going brother! Regards from tropical Panama >
so true! its everything that leads up to the fish that makes it even more special. doesn't happen everyday or it would lose its lust.
I've been to the ocean about 2 times, but I love your channel! Great video. This kind of spear fishing seems hard core
thats wild! couldn't imagine my life without it! glad you like the videos!
Great video Aaron. Keep em coming!
will do thank you !
Best time to go fishing is when you have a chance to go!
Aint that the truth!
amen!
Awesome video 🤙🏼
glad you think so! thanks for sharing!
Legend! I want to try to spear a wahoo, definite dream. See you one of these days! Also those laundry baskets you had all your gear in are a godsend, love em. Good stuff.
its doable! but probably one of the most difficult out there to spear! haha yea I used them all the time, mainly for fish and ice
Another great video brother, stay safe and keep up the good work.
thank you!
Great vid! Love learning about this stuff even if we are in Maine! It is really interesting and exciting.
thats awesome! glad you enjoy the content! thanks for taking the time to share!
great job what a day ... top of the line spearfishing !
was an amazing day!
Great video! I have been out twice rod & reel in St Augustine for wahoo and nothing yet, these videos help keep that spark alive!!
They are a tricky one! Stick with it!
Hell yeah man, this was awesome. You are the real deal. Saving up now to book a trip with you
haha really appreciate that brother!
Love your channel bro! We were going to book a trip with you in July but we waited to long. We’ll plan better in the future. Thanks for all the great content and keeping it real!
happy to hear that! and its been crazy how busy we are down here! no complaints, but look forward to it!
Got excited when I saw that you posted, wasn’t disappointed! Awesome video but should’ve shot a tuna too!
was waiting for a wahoo! tuna don't pull much of a price at the market!
Awesome content, always wishing you the best luck man!
thank you!
epic session Captain, thx for sharing
thanks for watching!!!
The Hawaiian name for wahoo is “Ono”, but we prefer “O-yeah”!😂
Ono means “tasty” or “good to eat”...and that’s perfect for wahoo! So good. Still on my spearo bucket list (caught many trolling)...I’ve shot AT them but not landed one yet. I need a breakaway setup too, it’s very disheartening to watch your gun disappear into the blue when it’s part of the floatline system as a big kingfish, AJ, or yellowtail (pacific) streaks away because the shot didn’t stone them. Hunting bluewater I run 2 of those Rob Allen floats with a big game bungee between them, for less chance of tear-out if I grab float two.
Great vid Aaron, thanks for sharing it.🤙
haha they are one of the most desired fish for a reason! very hard to land! thanks for watching, really appreciate it!
Another great video.
Its nice you throw in a bad day or two here and there. Not only does it keep you humble and real, but allows us novices feel better about ourselves when we strike out.
really appreciate that! and absolutely thats my thought, no-one is born an expert. Not implying I am one, but expectations need to be kept realistic. No-one crushes it all the time!
You're a pro in my book, and I am very serious about coming to the keys for a charter, I'm only 4 hours away. Only issue, I am not a diver, I prefer a line and reel lol.
We catch them rod and reel too! Season is slowing down though. Maybe next year!
@@KeyWestWaterman i know you do, but its so much cooler on video when you don't.
The tastiest and fastest missile in the water.....Hoozze ready for some sushi!!
amen!
Great video, love it when you deep drop,my favorite videos
thank you! and me too! can't wait to get back out there!
@@KeyWestWaterman awesome!..im so looking forward to those videos
Sweet video Brotha! Keep grinding🤙🤙
will do! thanks for sharing!
What a trip! You need a solid trip every once in awhile to remind you you still got it! LOL
💯,000,000
haha right!
Nicely done! love the videos man.
happy to hear that! thanks for watching!
Do ridiculously awesome! Your videos are sick! Pumps me every time I see one! Btw I haven't in a while...did I miss some or were you taking a break? Anyways...thanks again for the content!
just been slacking! trying to keep them regular! thanks brother!
Found this channel recently as I’m prepping to go to the keys mid may. Great content!
Capt Aaron young will put you on the fish, had an incredible day with him when I went out with the family. Caught some of the biggest mangos at 27"....day I'll never forget
happy to hear you like the channel! thanks for watching!
Nice wahoo men !!! You should do some jigging on your wahoo spots.
we normally live bait them or pull plugs. they are so hard to find jigging would wear you out!
Epic video, my dream to come do to key west and do this one day. Caught several rod and reel but different game spearing them!
Also, do you run charters for spear fishing wahoo??
ill be honest it is alot hard than we make it look. definitely one of the most difficult fish to spear! but yes I do run wahoo spearfishing charters in the winter. www.dibsonbottomkeywest.com
Great channel, It has helped to motivate me to pick up diving again. Can’t wait to get some new gear, dust off some old gear and start honing the skills
happy to hear that! thanks so much for watching!
Nice 3 hours!
haha right!
Awesome day in the water!! I'll be down in Islamorada last week of May, I hope to see some wahoo and mahi.
definitely should get a shot at some mahi! wahoo tend to thin out that time of year but you never know!
Nice day out Bro 👊
def was!
Love watching your videos
happy to hear that! thanks for watching!
Yo gotta make flashers out of old cd,s at leats 20 of them tie them with line and to a floating bouy
CD's don't last. I dive a lot and use my gear constantly. CD's are very brittle and break. don't have as much flash. there are countless things you can use! but the flashers I use now last me years.
Love the videos. I use to do inshore spear fishing would love more explanation on blue water hunting equipment like floats with mirrors etc.. keep up
will try to get something out like that! thanks for sharing!
Awesome video Cap
thanks brother!
Maybe next you run into some blackfin tuna just go for it if you're able to get close enough 👍really enjoyed the Wahoo video, I know it's hard work but, still you make it look like so much fun 🐟🐟🐟
I definitely could have shot one, the first school that came in that I didn't show came super close. was the more concerned with wahoo! Blackfin doesn't get a great price at the market!
@@KeyWestWaterman yeah I here you, but maybe would have made a great meal for home 🎣
You should do a competition episode with you and your buddies. Loser has to do something gross like eat a raw fish heart on film. It would get some good laughs for sure!
haha actually have a few ideas like that in mind! just haven't had time to do it yet!
Ever thought of doing a how to for your flashers? Thought about doing something similar to throw out while drifting for bottom fish
I buy mine from a company called murk crew. they make great flashers that last a while!
Loved it!!!
happy to hear it! thank you!
Good stuff man. Wish the water up in st Pete looked like that
haha right!
What an epic day in the water🙌🏻 Did I spy a hammerhead shark 🦈?? That would’ve done me in!😳 That sunset 🌅 was absolutely gorgeous! You sure do live in paradise, Aaron.
Haha hammerheads are awesome! Of all the sharks i hate hammerheads are one of the least!
@@KeyWestWaterman Do they tend to leave you alone more so than others?
@@AngelicVirtue Yikes!😳 I don’t think I would get back in the water!😂
Epic video, just found your channel and really enjoyed the video, well done! Hello from Aussie, just subbed to see more, Love a good Wahoo video, Dive Safe!
happy to hear you like the channel! thanks for the sub! more on the way!
The cool part of this video to me is it's like being there. Hearing the breathing and water sounds makes me appreciate the work part of spearfishing. Looks fun, but it doesn't look easy. Thanks again for letting us tag along
thanks for sharing! like to hear stuff like that! def isn't easy! and thanks for watching!
Sweet Gheenoe at :34 seconds .
haha love that thing! run it around a ton in the summer!
a box full of deliciousness!
amen!
Persistence pays. Good job 👏
amen to that!
@@KeyWestWaterman i pulled the trigger yesterday on the beastmaster 9000a. We are going to have a blast with it on May 25th.

That looks like the life right there!!!
I have no complaints!
I cant wait to catch my 1st wahoo
it'll happen just don't give up!
freaking sickkkkkkkkkkk dude is the water cold i feel like this is late for wahoo
my buddy did the same thing 3 days ago down in the keys
its still a little chilly! we normally get them through the end of march and start to slow down in April!
@@KeyWestWaterman thats awesome man stoked for you
That’s some Sergeant York stuff
hahaha!
Was that a huge hammerhead at the 8 minute mark ? Great video as always
it was! wasn't that big maybe 6-7 ft
One BIG expense you don't mention is equipment depreciation and/or loss. Boat repairs, engine replacement, etc., etc. But damn, nice day you had! Congrats
Absolutely! lots of factors most people don't think about! thank you! was a killer day!
What a great video!!
glad you enjoyed it!
Epic!!
Thanks for watching!
Love you video men💯
thanks for watching!
Have you ever been throwing a toothy fish like a wahoo in the back by your engines and had a tooth poke or cut your steering lines? Happened to a friend of mine and was an interesting ride back in haha....great video by the way!
nope! I've seen it happen though and know well enough not to! not a happy accident!
You are a fish bro, you kinda remind me of Kevin Costner in the Movie “ Water World” so cool to watch.
Awesome bro stay safe Champ whooo Rahhh!,..😎😎👍
haha love that! one of my favorite all time movies!
Thank the fucking lord that you spike bleed your fish... only person in Florida to do it and my god does it make a difference! Love the videos
haha!!! its the only way. makes such a difference in my opinion !
Awesome video as always we’re headed down to the keys the first weekend in June I need to look you up would like to book a charter with you
appreciate that! and let me know im easy to find!
I would’ve smoked one of those black fins if I could. My mouth waters for seared tuna🤤
yea I almost did on a different school, came alot closer but I was really focused on wahoo!
@@KeyWestWaterman that was a stud that you got towards the end. I dream about them🥴
KWWM!! Took your recommendation and bought a couple KOAHs and was not disappointed. Thanks for that! Let's do a collaboration trip this August. I'll be in Islamorada for 2 weeks first of August if you have any open dates lets make it happen. Need to spend a day with you to get some coaching.
that is awesome! happy to hear it! and ill check the calendar might have some dates open in august!
Amazing content
happy to hear you enjoy it! thanks for sharing!
Crazy 🔥
was a killer day!
Badass!!
it most certainly was!
Awesome
thanks for watching brother!
Wahoooooo!!
you know it!
Hi Aaron I am wondering if you have seen the new slip tip from Rob Allen?? It looks sick!! I just enjoy the way you always add the bad days as in life we have great days & 💩 days keep the vids coming they r great
I have not! not familiar with much rob Allen to be honest! just trying to keep it real! thanks for taking the time to share!
On UA-cam search Rob Allen he has a new slip tip that fits into the shaft it looks well thought out!! 👍😁
nice man!!!!!!!!
def was! a day I won't soon forget
Nice great job. When I go to South America it's just like that but there's so many sharks we hit 10 Wahoo's and only two came up complete. The rest half the body was taken or only the head was left. Great job guys. Please tell me you don't sell the fish busters? Cut them and alive one day I brought my own weight and their weight was off their way not our way. One of them briefcase weights is 300 bucks aluminum.
wow what a bummer! and no I don't sell to fish busters. I sell to a company called keys fresh seafood!
@@KeyWestWaterman I'm just giving you some advice because we used to sell all our fish to them and they will let us keep both boats on their dock ones a 52 footer ones at 38 footer both have all licenses do not sell the fish busters we caught them in a lie. Great video dude 6 Wahoo's in one day some days you try your hardest and nothing works some days you just go out for fun and everything goes correct that's what fishing is. Have a great one
@@KeyWestWaterman Yellow fins out there. U have to go far though. I'm talking about far over 50 60 miles out almost on my cousins in Cuba lol.
Recently bought a slip tip for my polespear, whats your opinion on the different between slip tips and floppers?
they both have a place, I don't like slip tips for reef or wreck hunting. mainly use them for Bluewater. floppers I use everywhere else. sometimes double floppers for bigger reef fish.
Holy cow! Holy wahoo!
won't forget this day !
I’m Guamanian, although I left quite a while ago. I used a Hawaiian sling for reef fish. I appreciate you showing how soon and how you kill them.
ive always wanted to visit Guam! have a good buddy that's from there!
@@KeyWestWaterman, pass on Hafa Adai for me. Oh, and Merizo rules!
Amazing footage to watch. I dont spear fish, but seeing how wahoo are in fact active during the day. Makes me wonder how well those flashers would do fishing live bait?
live bait is the best flasher of all. flashers only grab their attention for a very short time. I've see wahoo chase live bait. there's no comparison.
