Love this song, the mandolin picking is amazing! And Dolly just completes the song! I'll never forget the day I met her, she's the sweetest person ever! And smaller than a toothpick!
❤️My mother who has now passed from lung cancer (not smoking related, but genetic), is the one who always loved this song. She is a true Kentuckian. ❤️ Born and raised.
I met Rhonda in 2013 at the Bluegrass and Barbecue festival at Dollywood and she is the most beautiful woman I have ever met, inside and obviously out. I still wear the hat she autographed and gave me every day!! Love you always Rhonda!!!
It would really surprise me if she is playing the mandolin breaks on this song. It is not her style ,and I don't think she could play these breaks. Someone correct me if I am wrong. Besides, if she is tied up and blindfolded, she was probably doing something other than playing mandolin.
@mandograssable (great handle!) ~ Though it's hard to say for certain,I've had the same feeling. This is not to say that Rhonda's not an outstanding mandolinist ; as I watch her fingers as she sits on the bed, they synch very well with what's on the track. But I also wonder if someone else didn't stand in for her on some of those high-octane fills, esp.the tag on the end with all those triplets! And there WAS someone aboard at that time (and he's back now,5 years hence!) who was that capable. Josh Williams is one hellacious mando player - seen him do it - so he'd be my guess. Sure sounds like him on that blazing guitar solo as well. Cheers =Brian V=
One thing you should know about music videos in general is that they're usually not playing the song live for the video. They sort of fake it for the camera and use the single overtop it.
Nope, it’s not Rhonda playing it. I believe it’s either Josh Williams or Ben Helson. I would say Josh. Rhonda can play mandolin, but nothing that fancy.
That is a beautiful song to me it’s strange to hear that a person would hate country music but love bluegrass

One of my favourite songs, sung by two of my favourite artists!
Love her voice. I just started listening to bluegrass recently and am really enjoying it and hearing the connection with folk music.
