Amazing how many generations this book has spanned how well travelled its become, its truly a phenomenon. I'm a 46 year old man, on the east coast of England and this book was taught 35 years ago in my English class at school , and i have never forgot it or 'rumble fish' an 'that was then this is now'
Truth. Same sentiment at 56 yrs old in Tucson Arizona. Both books were my favorites growing up.
The fountain at Crutchfield Park was temporary and only built for the movie so it wasn't part of the park at all before the filming of The Outsiders movie. BUT, they are going to rebuild it and leave it at the original location hopefully permanently once they find all the pieces to the original fountain.
They have all the pieces and it's being built at the museum, not the park.
Looks like Tulsa was also the area they shot Rumble Fish. Another favorite of mine. Stay Gold Jordan.

I love the movie!!! My daughter was telling me about the book one day..I told her I know the story and then I told her it was a movie and she couldn’t believe it we had to find the movie so she could watch it lol !!
