I don't think it would be a stretch to say you are probably my favorite photographer to follow. All your pictures are a massive inspiration and have this feel to them that just captures a moment so well. Honestly, if you ever make a photography book with some thoughts alongside each image like your videos often have, I'd buy it immediately.
the brown tones on image 4:44 😍 amazing how an image so simple can be so eye-catching, and you captured such a key part of Japanese culture. Love these summer Japan videos, and your granny is so cute✨
I always feel warm and happy yet teary of how moved I am in each of your storytelling and photos. you are really a blessing to me as a aspirant photographer who has a deep loved with connection to home. All my appreciation towards you teo
Today, I bought a vintage digicam. I am so excited about this, it will be my first ever camera. A baby step for me. Thanks so much, Teo! Your videos are so inspiring!
Great photos, Teo. You are lucky to get to spend so much time in Japan. It is such a great place to travel. The photo of the shop owner is my favorite among the many fine photos you took. Nice framing and lighting. Excellent environmental portrait.
Another great video, thanks for giving us look at this "normal" side of Japan. Litlle bit different than what we see in movies. I really love it. Your voice and good choice of music really emphasis the overall feeling of the video. I love this Japan series, watching in the morning while drinking coffee is really soothing and it calmes my anxiety. Keep up great videos and photos.
Such an amazing video Teo! It’s so cool that you were able to take a trip with your grandma! Definitely a memory I’m sure you’ll cherish. I really liked that photo of the guy snacking on the train with the other person in the red hat poking their head out in the background! It tells a great story!
Amazing and calming video. I was in Japan 2006 which is a long time ago, but I can relate to everything you are showing, as I got to love Japan and hope to go back again one day. I love the colours of your photography and the exposures, which I assume are LR basic preset related.
New subscriber and new to Film photography and i absolutely love your vids. This style of video with your very much soothing and calming voice makes this perfect. Your content and pictures has made me want to pursue this hobby and hopefully make it to a full time job at one point and i just bought my first film camera ( a Canon AE-1 ) and i can't wait to welcome 2024 with this new found love of photography. Keep up the good work and may 2024 bring all the happiness and success for you!
Damn I wanna come back to Japan and discover more about Japan as A Japanese person living in outside of Japan because of your calm video with calm music and voice of yours ☺️ I’m wondering how native you are in Japanese but 日本国内の写真をまた撮りたいなって思わせてくれる動画でした♪ありがとうございます😊
Nice one Teo. I always enjoy your videos. My only complaint is I struggle to hear your voice over clearly (sounds muffled to me), which is a shame as you have such a nice calming voice. Anyway, cheers!
Absolutely love your stuff! It's truly beautiful and it inspired me to learn about film photography. Begginer question: The pictures in this video are edited a little bit, right? They just look sooooo good!!!
Ahhh the good old question that in my case has an overcomplicated answer haha😅 Filmscans are always edited, it doesn’t matter whether you scan yourself or let a lab do it. Each lab is going to look different because they have their own way of editing the scans. The editing is necessary because the scanner will not perfectly interpret your negative. So with my negatives I convert them, then correct them and if necessary or suitable I might add a little colour grading for more characters, but my scans aren’t edited much more than many labs would edit your film, I just try to get the most out of my negative🙌🏼☺️
I’ve been back in Austria for two months now hehe😅 But I still have a bit of a backlog of Japan videos I’m working on. And the foggy stuff will still take some time because it’s summer here - there is no fog🫣 Fog season begins in October☺️ and I’m looking forward too shooting it😏✨
Hi Teo! Beautiful photos overall! I just wanted to ask you, did you scan these yourself or at a lab? Also did you scan them at tiff or jpeg type? For me my favourite is at 12:09! The vibes are so ghibli like!
I scan my negatives myself☺️🙌🏼 I made a whole video on how I scan in case you want to know the details - I scan RAW files and then export the positives as Jpegs👍🏼
really small detail comment but teo are you going through the efforts of low pass filtering your bgm to fade it a bit and give even more vibe ?! because if so gosh dang man your attention to detail is absurd.
Ohhh cool, I'm so happy you like the music selection. I must truthfully admit, that I purely chose these Korean songs because they sound fantastic, however I mostly don't know what they're about due to my lack of Korean skills. But Epidemic Sound's library of songs under the genre "K-Pop" is really good including the one you asked about which is "Melt Away" by Adelyn Paik :)
Hi, someone please aswer me :} I was wondering if shooting videos in which strangers' faces are clearly seen isn't a problem? Sometimes I see a perfect view, that i would like to photograph or make a video of, but I feel awkward shooting someone's face 🥲 It feels illegal😆
It depends on the country, you’ll have to lookup the laws. Where I’m from it is not an issue, because there is no expectation for privacy in public. Also what I do falls under the protection of artistic freedom. However I think Korea for example is much more strict, so if I ever go there I will have to check the rules. Also basic morals are of course to be applied. I would never publish a photograph in which someone is clearly being shown in a bad way☺️🙌🏼

Amazing B-roll. You really need a 50 or a 105 to do justice to granny, or crop and send her a print for her wall.

japan looks like a fairytale. wish i could go there
The color in the photo at 21:20 is amazing, and the subject is interesting considering what the sign says.
テオくんも、メリさんも、おばあちゃんも、最高。
自分のおばあちゃんにも会いたくなるような映像だ。
The portrait at 14:18 reminds me the bus stop scene from Tonari no Totoro.
I loved it.

When are you going back to Austria? Not that I don't like Japan videos but I sure miss the fog/mist videos

And the foggy stuff will still take some time because it’s summer here - there is no fog🫣 Fog season begins in October☺️ and I’m looking forward too shooting it😏✨
Do you scan your own films? Feel like the colors are so different from my rolls of Kodak gold 200 and Fuji color 100.
Yesss✨🙌🏼
Yeah every lab/person will have different results, that’s why I scan myself to gain the control👍🏼
Love your video!
I’m also going to Japan this fall and I’m wondering if I should bring 20 rolls of film or just buy them locally?
If possible bring your own. Kodak is pretty pricey in Japan and Fuji is mostly sold out so when I was there it was surprisingly hard to buy film😅
@@teocrawford Got it. THX!
