FIXED!! BMW X2 rear right turn sign not working. Bulb and wires working but light would not turn on

*This video is cutting to the point on how to fix. Please watch tutorials on how to remove the tail light and how to disconnect it. its a Very easy step.
*make sure the bulb are not burned out so you don't waste time.
*** I am not giving you advise on what to do, i am showing what i've done. It worked!!

I’ve been in contact with BMW national customer service over this exact issue! Both of my rear taillights have done this. Quotes from BMW service were $1000 each. And since BMW didn't rectify the problem, or even seem to acknowledge it being an issue (side note: the local BMW parts department person told me that he has seen this in other X2s), I went ahead and filled a recall request to the NHTSA. I urge others to file a direct petition as well.

OMG!!! This worked for me just now (2019 X2). My battery died yesterday and the right rear taillight failed exactly the way it happened to someone a few comments below! I replaced the battery today and my mechanic said I needed a new taillight ($300!!). I told him I'll shop around for the part. I came across this fix and rushed right back to him and the light is working just fine! Thank you so much!! I think there is a sinister plot to connect battery failure to send a charge to melt that little piece of plastic!! It was woking fine all day yesterday before the battery went dead. It was melted just like in your video! >:0/ I will file a recall request as well!!

My 2018 x2 was doin the same thing. Change the bulb..nothing. Found your video and tried it. Now it's working! Thanks so much!

THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!! I just happened to replace my battery the same day the right turn signal stopped working and the front right just flashed quickly. checked all fuses, bulb was good etc. WATCHED YOUR video and sure as sh!t I looked at that little plastic tab that was slightly overhanging and filed it down a bit, ran a little sandpaper over it, WHAALAAAHHHH ITS WORKING. YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! I used this to fix the exact same problem. I had to melt a little solder on the connector to raise it up a bit so the bulb would contact it, but it's working now. I appreciate it.

Isn't that funny that the problem repeats in every car? Seems like they do this is stuff on purpose so we can buy a new housing. Just weird.
