The point of any book is to be purchased. Enjoyed yes - but ultimately, purchase is the goal. So anytime a book ends up in someones hands that appreciates it in any way, is still better than it ending up in the landfill. Good for you. I'm sure an artist would be honoured that you want to include their art in yours.
My mother used to work for a library so she read to me everyday & bring me a book. So that's exactly how I feel. 😊 I absolutely love books. Both coloring & reading
I'd love to hear your opinion on the Staedtler pens when you get around to using them. Especially compared to the Crayola supertips that you normally use as I've been eyeing them and was wondering if they were an upgrade from supertips or not. Love all the work you do and hope you feel better soon.
Thank you so much! I will definitely mention they come in a 120 set, so colour range is even more than supertips which is awesome! I'm yet to swatch but maybe I'll do a swatch and play video for them
oh my gosh! at $27.99 and a law against returning i sure hope you do like Gothic Art Nightmare! 😂😂😂😂 i can’t believe how expensive those books are! But i agree- every page i do in his books turns out great! Maybe it’s the thick one sided paper that lets me use any medium i want? And that his pages are busy but the details are pretty clear? i dunno but i do love his work. His first two books are beautiful but only buy them if you need to complete the collection. They are too detailed and you can’t really color them. So sorry about the AI! But i know you will make those pages gorgeous!!! Love you!!!❤
Honestly under 30 is pretty reasonable, I pay 40-50 for some of my books (why the $10 ones where so damn good price wise). But I do really love his work so I have no doubt i will. I loved what I saw of the work in my quick flip but I do need to sit down and properly flip it and see about dping a page for October. Perfect month for it! The ai books are such a shame but we will make the best of a bad situation!
Yes please I would love to see some of your art journalling. Your creativity is so 👌 lol I remembered the crayola colours of the world for colouring bricks but couldn't remember where I saw it and ta da ....here you are 😂 so many of your ideas intrigue me so keep up the good work 👍I can't see a problem with using that gorgeous book because art is made for us to enjoy and make us think creatively or differently about things and that's exactly what you're doing with it 👍
Aww thank you so much! I think I'll definitely film a spread in 30 Days of Creativity (my art journalling application in a colouring book) and I'll look at pulling out the art journals. It's a hard thing to explain because the process is..so made up on the spot. I just place things till they look good then stick it down haha. But I'll try! I am glad you like my weird ideas! I just find it fun to play and try things, ya never know what will work :) And yes, that is excatly how I feel about the art book too! You worded it better than me haha. Words are hard when ill
@@AmieWardArt my daughter is paraplegic so I've bought everything from clay to mosaics to colouring books and she has a go because she's a creative (singing and music are her number one) but nothing "grabbed" her.....and then we found art journalling lol. She's a natural too. It's like she tells little stories and she lives with chronic pain too so some just break my heart but hey so happy she found her thing still. Looking forward to watching your art journalling with her 🙌🫶
There is a 120 set of the Staedtler Double-Ended fibre-tip Pens as the biggest set. Colouring Chemist here on UA-cam colors a lot with the 60 Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens and the 60 Staedtler pigmentArts pigment brush pens because the inks last longer than other water based markers.
Yes colouring chemist is great! Spare room studio is another one who does great things with water soluble markers too! Good to know about the 120 set! I'd have to order it in from overseas but its something to consider when this set runs out. It looks like fabulous colours. The pigment markers and pitt markers are something I'd love to play with but a bit beyond the budget right now sadly.
Man, I saw 2 images from that book and immediately went "Is that AI?" It's nice that they at least disclose the origin on the back of the book, most AI coloring books don't bother and try to trick people. I did see plenty of odd/awkward spots on every image you flipped but I'm used to looking for those discrepancies and tell-tale signs. I'm sorry you ended up with 3 of them, but it's a good thing to show them to let others know not to make the same mistake! The sad thing is, I can kinda see the style of one of my favorite artists used in some of those images, and it hurts knowing they're ripping off said artists to make quick money. The artist I'm talking about is Adele Lorienne, and if you like the style of these books, I *highly* recommend her! She's had 2 Colouring Heaven books and has a self-published version on better paper, plus PDF versions for those of us who can't afford the shipping fees.
Yeah having a deep closer look I'm seeing more signs. Impromptu decision Amie didn't though haha. And I hadnt heard of Adele Lorienne but I see the resemblance! I went and checked her etsy store and her digital colouring book is definitely on the wishlist now! I'm on a lil self imposed book ban for a while but next time I look at some digital book purchases that is going on the list! Thank you for sharing
@@AmieWardArt Oh yeah I totally understand that impulse blindness! Specially when superficially the images look great! It's not till you start looking at background details and details in general that the problems pop up haha. I followed Adele all the way back when DeviantArt was new, and LOVED her work, when I saw there were coloring books of hers, I was SO stoked, and yet I'm a bit intimidated I won't do her lines justice lol... I have one Colouring Heaven of hers and got the PDF of the other, and have yet to tackle any of the pages. I gotta just shake off that fear and jump into it soon!

I would love to see more of your art journal projects
Good to know, thank you so much! I'm definitely filming a process video for 30 days of creativity at some point, so there will be one coming!
The Dark Art book is amazing but looks slightly intimidating for me. I can't wait to see your work
Yes Francios Gautier definitely has a detailed approach but it can be a fun style to colour esp with water based markers which is my plan!
Exciting haul! Loving all your goodies!
Thanks so much 😊 it was a fun splurge. Now to get well enough so I can use all the goodies
Would love to see more videos on your art journaling 😊
Noted, thank you for the feedback
Beautiful haul hun thank you for sharing ❤❤❤😊😊😊xxxx
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Great haul Amie, I would loveto see your art journals, and your process, loved the Art book, I would cut it up and use it!!❤❤❤
Thank you so much! I'll definitely will add the art journal process to the list!

I will look at filming a video of it soon! Its a good idea to have on hand even without the conditions I have

I would keep the books although I avoid Ai generally.
Thats what I'll end up having to do, but I'll just mention they are AI each time I show time to remind everyone.
kislux versace bag is so cute
