It sucks so bad the crap one has to endure to do something that you love and are good at doing. I tried but never got as far as they did although my songs speak of timeless subjects and deeper than most out there. Good luck to them as they age into something else. NAMASTE
If you want to go down another rabbit hole, check out Steve Taylor's discography from the 80s and 90s. Steve is quite the prolific artist all the way around. Not to mention a gifted songwriter (although I just mentioned it).
Absolutely. I would love for him to cover his career as a solo artist, time(s) with Chagall Guevara, and as a producer of some of the biggest hits from Christian artists in the 90's (Six Pence and Newsboys). Seen him live a few times including the recording of the album "Liver".
Good story! I saw Leigh's solo album and assumed she had broke up the band. Glad it was mutual. I listened to their big album for months as I went to bed. It gave me a lot of peace as I went through a divorce.

If a father gives his child six pence to buy him a gift for his birthday the father is sixpence none the richer when the loving child gives him the gift. As Lewis wrote, "But oh how the father desires that gift!" as it is an expression back of the child's love.
This ole hardcore punk rocker death metal Fusion sometimes like to listen to simple music that was easy comfortable. I always thought that Sixpence was really a decent band . I have some of their music . I'm very happy to find out they are actually Believers in Christ
So did Lisa’s (Blackpink) Moonlit Floor (Kiss me) ripped off Six Pence the Richer? I don’t see them being credited on her song given that Kiss Me was such a popular song and no way the lyricists for Lisa’s song would not know this song.
A little too precious for me. Can't deny how catchy that song was though. Recall at the time being out getting coffee and reading on a Friday night, and occasionally there'd be a live music show. Around the middle of the set the lead singer would get an acoustic guitar and start playing this song. Couldn't help but start rolling my eyes (although never in front of the band). So sweet. So awful sweet. Like a lemon birthday cake. Anyway, this was pretty interesting, hearing about the issues with record labels, dealing with being a one hit wonder etc.

Wow, so, a song from my generation taught Taylor Swift how to play guitar?? That's cool, even though i'm not a fan of hers. I actually heard Sixpence's cover of "there she goes", before i even knew about the original version, by the Las. So had no idea it was a cover, at the time, but thought it was awesome to hear a woman singing about loving another woman!
Leigh Nash has a sweet, pleasant voice and I've been a fan ever since I heard Sixpence cover "Don't Dream it's Over", by Crowded House.
It sucks so bad the crap one has to endure to do something that you love and are good at doing. I tried but never got as far as they did although my songs speak of timeless subjects and deeper than most out there. Good luck to them as they age into something else. NAMASTE
Record labels, promoting, radio - those were the days!

Awesome band still have there albums
As a record store clerk in the 90s, their self-titled CD irritated me because of the annoying reversed jewel box design.
What do you mean?
Ahh, now I remember...
@@t221000 The cover was on the tray side, not the door side. The spine text was upside down, too. Still annoys me lol
Good story! I saw Leigh's solo album and assumed she had broke up the band. Glad it was mutual. I listened to their big album for months as I went to bed. It gave me a lot of peace as I went through a divorce.
Did you leave out the ‘Kiss Me’ cover from New Found Glory?
I didn't know that New Found Glory sang it as well.
It was also featured on the soundtrack for How to Lose a Guy in 10 days.
Dang, I loved this band. Always loved Leigh Nash's voice.
Love me some Six Pence! Breath of fresh air.❤❤❤
They're touring again. Leigh Nash regularly tours solo.
Delirium ft Leigh Nash- Innocente such a beautifully sad song.
Checkout "Fauxilage" album by Leigh Nash, Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber (basically Leigh and Delerium)
@@tonyvaldiconza3914 thank you for the recommendation. Sharing music is important because it is the universal language of the soul.
Are Bill and Rhys "Conjure One"?
@@jimdotcom808 No, Conjure One ís Rhys Fulber's side project. I've bêen following Conjure One since the beginning in 2002. I recently found a two LP 45 rpm limited vinyl version of "Conjure One".
I grew up with their music !!
Please do Fun Lovin Criminals anytime soon
Great group.
I was supposed to see them open for Porno For Pyros in 1996, but they got the flu, so PFP just went on early. But yeah, those guys were good.
"Sixpence none the richer" is a quote from CS Lewis. If a father gives his child six pence to buy him a gift for his birthday the father is sixpence none the richer when the loving child gives him the gift. As Lewis wrote, "But oh how the father desires that gift!" as it is an expression back of the child's love.
Use to listen to this band heavily. This Beautiful Mess got tons of listens from me.
If you like them. Check out Over The Rhine
Great voice & just an easy band to listen to.
They never went Platinum , but went triple myrrh.
Man! I thought that Leigh Nash was the gosh darn prettiest thing I’d ever seen.
That incredible face and voice stands the test of time.
Her voice and their music always reminded me of The Cranberries, but softer.
I agree
This is a great band. And I'm a diehard metalhead.
If you love Leigh’s singing and haven’t heard “Leigh and Me” by Starflyer 59, definitely check it out.
_Kiss Me_ - The most pirated song in MP3 form, ever.
Sixpence + Limewire + WinAMP
Rex was the same lable as heavy metal band believer and hardcore band the Lead. It's a trip I think my old band havalona thought about goint with squint. I forgot about that lable
My all time favorit band.
Great video.
