This bag is a killer. I love it for work and travel. I removed the ice pick elastics and added S binder clips to improve the security on the zip. I also added a matador speed stash to the front for my phone and wallet.
What makes this bag for me is the hip belt: it’s thick and super comfy. A 13 inch laptop also fits in the water bladder compartment. Only gripe is trying to get out things from the bottom.
About to take mine on a one bag 8 day trip to Perth.

      Awesome, how was your trip?!
I just got back from 3 weeks on the Gold and Sunshine Coast. It was great to escape winter for a little while.
I agree the pack is super versatile and carries very comfortably- especially for a packable bag.
I tried the speed stash and just never found it comfortable. But, it’s such a perfect addition that I wish it worked.

Thanks for covering this. With two small kiddos, I'm rethinking what kind of bags might be most useful.

I’ve got the 28L and it’s a perfect lightweight packable bag for my travels. 10L volume bigger can pack a lot more just in case.

How’s this bag holding up? Do you still recommend it as your top day pack with kids?

It’s continued to be a great pack. I’ve used it on a few more trips and it is holding up well with no issues. I think as a lightweight packable daypack the flexible back padding is better than anything else I’ve used in that class.

@@This-Stylish-Life do you have any other recommendations as a packable day pack for trips? Traveling using a larger luggage and a 35L backpack. Looking for something to carry all the toddler gear that I can pack up and pull out for day excursions in the city/beach.

@@azncargod689 Sorry for the late reply! I ended up looking into this and then forgot to reply. One of my favorites was the YNOT Deploy X that was made of X-pac and had dual water bottle holders. Unfortunately, it’s not discontinued, but you might be able to find it second hand. The one downside for it was that it lacked any internal structure, so it benefited from more careful packing to create structure. Other ones that I haven’t tried, but want to, are the AER Go Pack and the Waterfield Packable Backpack - if you want something that looks less outdoorsy.
One other thing that I’ve been doing lately is using the ULA Dragonfly as one of our carry-on bags (usually with my son’s clothing) and then using it at destination as our daypack - it’s a good middle size that I think it fits both tasks well and is super lightweight.

@@This-Stylish-Life no worries! I did try the beast 18, but found its shape wasn’t ideal for my carry and for a tablet. I returned it and picked up and Aer Go Pack 2. Less back structure, but still super comfortable and way more internal volume (at least to me) and it has a laptop sleeve. No regrets at all. Thanks!
