Thanks James but i never read the books so I enjoy it as a TV show. This episode was an emotional roller coaster and thoroughly intense. It still amazes me that it continues to get better and better. I love Daemon and Rhaenyra together. Loved your quip about him needing new underwear after mounting the dragon

As a guy who is almost 50, trust me when I say, “Daemon I feel ya.” Having said that, Four Weddings & a Funeral in Westeros arc looks to be concluded. And now, the Civil War is almost upon us. The Greens look stacked so far. I read that farce of an article from the Independent. The author can stick to Disney/Marvel/Star Wars.
For all of the bombastic action we saw in the last ROP, it pales in comparison to even the small scenes of set up and payoff littering each episode of this. I'm ready to say this has been a stronger season than GOT ever had, by just the consistency of great moments we've seen on a weekly basis. Aemon claiming Raegar was such a fantastically realized moment. Genuinely the best dragon I think has been put to screen. The acting and cinematography and score allow the opening scene with simple glances being exchanged to be far more riveting and tension filled than Bronwyn nearly "dying". This shows episodes started at an 8 for episodes 1 through 3, 9s for 4 and 5, but these last two are genuinely some of the greatest hours fantasy media put to ceuloid. Please don't fuck this up...
I was hoping that Daemon would get more involved in the skirmishes. Aegon gets my respect for not ratting out his mom unlike his little brother. 😤 I mean the kid stared at his mom the second the king asked him.
When those kids started fighting, I was wondering when would Chucky from Child’s Play would pop out from nowhere with a kitchen knife and join the melee😅… Anyway, props to Mr. Kevin Lau for the writing adaptation..
One big criticism of this ep is that I fail to understand how Otto is the Hand again. I mean surely even V isnt that naive. He had dismissed Otto as untrustworthy and unreliable so surely there's someone else in the 7 kingdoms who could be hand.

The night time shots were beautiful but I was a little confused. Like I thought they meant to show Aemond spy Rhaenyra & Daemon together in that beach wilderness survival shelter but maybe he was just looking for the dragon only.
I think the Dragon let the kid ride him because he’s old and wise beyond his years. He knows he needs a human to ascend the throne and that kid showed a lot of guts.
It was an excellent episode. My one critique is that the actress playing adult Rhaenyra has zero chemistry with Matt Smith. There was more chemistry with the younger actress who played Rhaenyra.

Great dramatic moments aside, a lot of the episode was too dark, which annoyed me massively. Stuff was darker than The Long NIght, and people rightfully criticized that too.
I watched the episode. I'm not sure I saw it, but I watched it. Overall I'm lukewarm on this show. The characters and story aren't nearly as interesting or dynamic as GOT. Just very dreary.

The Dragon scene was intense. But I think the lines are being drawn and who is on who's side is getting clearer.
