As a former PetCo employee, I can tell you from firsthand experience that a few of those dog treats (the ones that specifically look like the kind humans eat) actually taste just like the store brand. On my life you would not be able to tell the difference in a blind test taste. I'm almost convinced that they came from the same plant and were rejects for some reason. Or just marked up in price to stupid humans.

I would have looked the cashier in the eye and said, "wanna see them learn a life lesson?" As the kids ate the cookies 😂
A friend of mine was a mortician, he was living alone with his 3 daughters. He was professional and respectable, but one hell of a practical joker. Those girls didn't live in a morbid world above a funeral home, it was game on 24/7. His favorite was sneaking into their rooms just before they got ready to wake for the day, and draw mustaches, glasses and grocho marks eyebrows on them with a marker. As they came to the breakfast table, he said he couldn't look at them because he would just loose it, he allways did just one of them and the other two would try their hardest not to give it away, but when you see your sisters giggling into their oatmeal it was a dead giveaway. And the "anointed one" would allways realize and say, oh my god its me this moring isn't it! Those girls all grew up happy and with a well rounded sense of humor. Awesome family❤

I can relate way to well with your older brother part. For me, it was just an asshole best friend. I didn't realize how traumatized I was until one day a coworker snapped at me WHY IS IT WHENEVER I OFFER YOU SOMETHING TO EAT, YOU EYE IT SUSPICIOUSLY AND SMELL IT FIRST? CANT YOU JUST TAKE IT LIKE A NORMAL PERSON?

My youngest when he was around 3 saw the box of dog treats on top the fridge and no matter how many times I said those aren't cookies those are dog treats he wasn't having it, he wanted the cookies. My dad's proudest accomplishment and he'll tell you this story cause he fuckin loves this story. Back in the day they started making Scooby-Doo cookies snacks at the same time they were making Scooby-Doo dog treats. (DONT YOU FUCKIN DARE JUMP AHEAD OF ME READ THE GODDAMN STORY!) so pops buys some of the Scooby-Doo dog treats but he puts them in the snack cabinet its got the cosmic brownies the honeybun the oreos all that shit but he lets it sit for like week nobody touches them because they are "for dad" he comes out one day with half a cookie like he had ate a bite he told us how good they were and how we should try one basically my dad got me and my brother to eat a whole ass dog treat before giggling himself half to death in hindsight its pretty funny

I pulled the same joke with petco treats on my oldest son lol. I never laughed so hard when he asked for more. The dog looked pissed as he ate her snacks lol.
I remember being in petco with my dad just before Christmas, and he saw the Christmas decorated cookies. They were free and looked like someone worked really hard on them. He popped two in his mouth and ate every crumb before my mother and I could say anything. We were in a bit of shock, so it took us a second to get the words out. He said they were good, but I think he just didn't want to admit he messed up.
Youre delivery of these jokes is SPOT ON. Delivery is what makes or breaks a joke IMO, and you're awesome!

similarly, years ago, a friend of my roommate found some chocolates we had stashed for the dog... the kind that are sugar less for the dog... she asked if she could have a chocolate. we knew what they were and said "sure, go ahead". she had a handful of them before she noticed they tasted a bit "off" lol.. then we told her they were for the dog and she had to go puke lol

Growing up our friend would always ask for snacks when she was over our house and seen them to the point it was annoying. One time we had the dog treat cookies and she was like oh I really would like a cookie, so we gave her one of the dog treats. She bit into it and said it was good and my sister and I started dying laughing. Then we told her it was a dog cookie and she sip it out 😂. She didn't ask for a snack for a long time when she was over after that.

I was 14 and it was the first time I ever smoked and it was like 3 in the morning and I went to the kitchen to find something to eat. There was these little cupcakes on the counter in a little wax bag I ate one and half of another one and thought they were a little off. I left the half of one on the counter and the next morning my mom explained they were dog treats 😐.

Haha 😂. This reminds me of when I was driving my brother’s car taking his kids home from karate class. His daughter was only five and she had to go pee really bad. So while we’re driving I told her that I had to go too, and I pretended to relieve myself. Low and behold, she went big time soaking her car seat. He was so pissed, pun intended, but chilled after his wife showed him how the cover could be easily removed and washed. Nowadays his daughter pranks me all the time, and she considers me the cool uncle because I take it so well. When you grow up with butthead siblings it becomes part of the norm. Nothing is worse than when he woke me up as a kid with his butt cheeks near my face, and then he ripped one. Still haunts me to this day.
