Jake and Shellie Thomas (Drama and Dance teachers) performing a LipSync/dance to "A Lovely Night" from La La Land at Vista School's Teacher Talent Show. Choreography by Mandy Moore.
Gorgeous! Brilliant standard of dance you two. Your students are lucky to have you. You inspire me to perform more as a teacher. Greeting from Beth UK dance teacher & lecturer. :-)
Holy crap this is actually fantastic. I just watched La La Land for the first time today and I’m savagely scouring the internet to satisfy my need to have more content (I need this movie flowing through my veins). I found this and if I’m being completely honest, was not expecting anything great. Excuse me for my bluntness, but I was actually expecting something bad, even, with this being for a child audience and all. But oh my goodness I’m in awe. I saw a comment say that they were married, which explains the so great it’s almost tangible chemistry between them. I was expecting the performers to have mics and try to sing and dance at the same time, but thankfully they understood how insane that would be and it was absolutely lovely hearing Ryan and Emma’s voice instead of a cover. AND on top of how absolutely INCREDIBLE they danced, the woman playing Mia did the choreo IN HEELS!! Not even Emma did that in the movie! Genuinely so, so impressed and this deserves way more attention than it has gotten. Beautiful 🤩🤩 Edit: also 3:42 you’re welcome 😎🥹🥰
Impressive. Although you definitely decided to perform it in front of the wrong crowd. They categorically didn't care .... But hey, you never know... Give it 15 or 20 years and maybe they'll rewatch this and adore it. Like I did. 👍🏿
Great version. It would be better if you shut the lights off and create a more romantic atmosphere. The choreography wasn't perfect but I loved it. There were a few moments where I hoped you wouldn't mess up and, thankfully, you didn't! I think you could also fix your facial expressions in order to match them with the original scene. For an example they were quite serious during the first half as they didn't want to admit their feelings to each other. I think you did an amazing job while keeping in mind that it was made for a school project. I loved it!
HOW EXPENSIVE CAN A YELLOW DRESS BE ?? Should've set up an online fundraiser if it's so unaffordable. Despite the lack of an aesthetic appeal of a school auditorium, it was good and could've been better. Alas the yellow dress would've really sky rocketed the budget and the school probably needed to replenish their stock of chalk.
This was in fact a Teacher Talent Show for the end-of-the-school-year assembly. We didn't have choice in location, lighting, etc. The costumes we wore came straight out of our closet because we learned this ALL just the night before :) I would love a yellow dress and make a better recording someday!
I go to this school and they are actually married and have 3 kids and another on the way
Chloe Espinoza cool
AAaaagh the ship sailed! That's so cute!!
おおお!!
Owww :D
Good for them 😀
They could even have casted this two for the movie! Amazing, and she does that in heels!
Just no.
no
LightsaberProductions yeah! In theatre we have character shoes, pretty much heels you can dance in. They are a PAIN but enhance the costume!
No
The guy looks like the off-brand version of Ryan Gosling (Sebastian)
Angie SAME
That's... that's the point
I was thinking the same thing lmao
oK BUT HOW DOES SHE DO THAT IN
*H E E L S*
Those are dancing heels, they're designed to help you dance easier
Notice how at 2:50 the yellow kid in the front, tries to imitate the performer and did the same thing to the girl beside him. So fking cute
i love how there are kids learning to be a tsundere themselves
PLS HAHAHA
KAJAAJAJJAJJAJAJAJ te pasas xD
Love the kid giving standing ovation. Deserved
