@rubbermoldman8544 just did my first casting last night after watching your videos for about a year. Turned out great and wanted to thank you for the great info and guidance
I've been a fan/follower for several years, and I still love to learn from you. THANKS! I've always used the general pre-mix concrete with good results, but I am going to take your advice and try supplementing Portland Cement to future statues to see if I can notice a difference.
Portland is a type of cement with no additives like sand or gravel, it’s not a brand. Quikcrete is a brand that has Portland in it along with gravel and sand and different blends of premix.
Usually Home Depot or Lowes but back in the day we'd get an entire truck load from a plant. We've never noticed any difference in quality no matter where we purchase it.
Have you ever tried a concrete mix made by CTS? Sold at Home Depot, it’s in a green bag and they have one in a blue bag. So many people I know use it for statuary. Just wondering what you thought of it.
I swift pre-mix concrete a bit to get rid of some of the gravel. It work great for very small items.
