- Emotions are high at Eternal Church in Fort Mill after learning new details about the pastor’s history, a dark history that, for some, eats away at years of trust.
People are hurt,” Julie Sale, a Fort Mill resident, told WCNC Charlotte's Tradesha Woodard.
The Eternal Church held an emergency meeting Friday night regarding the wave of reactions.
Pastor Don Logan has been the pastor at Eternal Church for 10 years. Now a community and congregation is questioning his transparency after being on a sex offender’s list.

Laws do change all the time. So maybe he didn’t have to register at the time of the crime but has since come under registration requirements due to new laws. This has happened in several states. Also moving from one state that doesn’t require registration to another state that does require registration for the same act causes much confusion too.
So maybe he didn’t know, but maybe he did. We won’t know.
If they knew this 10 years ago and hired him. If anything comes up they too should serve a sentence themselves.
I knew of a youth pastor, who was climbing into the bedroom windows of youth, in the congregation! Once it came out, the families learned that the pastor KNEW, this guy had a history of being a sexual predator! This isn’t a “rare” situation! All those in leadership at the church who knew, should face some type of consequences!

@@jessiehenry5405 I was in a Southern Baptist church years ago and my late wife’s uncle was the preacher who was of questionable character himself told me of one preacher in their convention who was a cross dresser, and another one who had to take meds to function. I was also a member of an Independent, Fundament , Baptist Church and they had an evangelist who made the rounds in those churches who passed himself off as an FBI agent. It was all fun and games until he was actually arrested by the FBI and sent to jail. This guy also had a prison ministry and had to serve in one of the prisons he preached in. He asked the Judge if he could be sent to another prison and he was denied. The way he got busted was after one of his sermons a couple of guys dressed in suits wanted to talk to him privately. When they were alone he said; “ you guys look more FBI than me.” That’s when they pulled out their badges.😂 The guys name is Mark Rizzo if you want to look it up. I also heard him say in a sermon that he was a hit man too.🙄

The quenching of the Holy Spirit to the point there is no faith/belief left that God will forgive him or her any longer.

Please check on any kids in his house and others in the church he had access to. Elders didn't have the approval of the congregation to vet this man. Forgiveness does not mean approval
The Lord is forgiving, but he would not want a sex offender to hold that position.
Scripture also says there's no sacrifice that can save someone who sins after hearing about the salvation of Christ. He willfully sinned. There's no forgiveness for him.

Right? Also, being in the church is one of the easiest ways to access people, especially children, who can easily become victims. Ppl put too much trust in those who are heads of the church, even just regular members. People assume a good person is someone who is Part of the church but that isn't the whole picture of them. I encourage everyone to try to check out whoever you know for any crimes committed. However, just because they didn't get caught doesnt mean you shouldn't be cautious. Especially when it comes to kids.

It’s a 501c3 tax exempt operation. A careful study of the New Testament will give you a clear definition of what the qualifications to be in church leadership.

Has he shown works of repentance? In other words, Paul, the apostle to the gentiles, persecuted, and helped in the torture and murder of Christians. After his conversion he wrote, "I die daily." Paul, was saved, baptized, and filled with the Holy Spirit, and became the apostle to the gentiles, and wrote 2/3s of the New Testament. What he did to the Christians bothered him so much that he repented daily for the things he did. Was he in the position of Christian leadership, and/or was he a non-believer at the time of his conviction.
If he was a "Christian" at the time of his conviction, and/or in a position of leadership at the time of his conviction he should not be allowed a position again in the Body of Christ. You can be welcomed back in the fold after thoroughly repenting, and demonstrating works of repentance. God's mercy extends to everyone, and if we come to Him; He is faithful and just to forgive our sin if we believe, and ask for real forgiveness. So, all you church goers out there that are casting stones; be careful lest your sin be found out and it gets published on the news channel, also.

The Texas Sex Offender Act went into effect in 1991, and his conviction was in 1997 - so, yes, he was required to register. I'm sure the judge made that perfectly clear at his sentencing.

Sex offenders are told in court at the end of their trial that they must register. If they avoid court by taking a plea deal, the prosecutors handling the case tell the perp that they have to register. So he is obviously lying about not knowing that he was required to register. The leaders of the church who knew that he was a sex offender, but hired him anyway should lose their positions in the church leadership.
The church has always been a cover for many misdeeds.
