It's so refreshing to see a real blind neutral playthrough. I feel like most people forgot neutral runs existed, and how they're just as important as the Genocide and Pacifist ones for sucking you into the world. Toby made a lot of neutral endings depending on who you spared or killed, so whatever ending you get is truly yours.
I remember an Undertale video by someone who accidentally aborted a Genocide route and they said the ending they got hit much harder for them because it was a lot more personal and unexpected (especially referring to the "Despite everything, it's still you" line)
An actual playthrough that wasn't full pacifist on the first run. Amazing she didn't get bullied into hating Undertale like others had been. This is the content I'm looking for. Also shame on anyone saying people are playing wrong because their blind run wasn't optimal.
Certainly not playing wrong, and no one should be shamed; I think it's mostly a knee-jerk reaction to the fact that most people won't bother to give the game the time to do another run, and therefore miss the more meaningful endings.
If you look in the corner you can see that the chat is on emote only. Also the mods are really good at getting rid of even a crumb of spoiler/backseating.
If the person doesn't do a neutral run first (not pacifist neutral) then they don't really learn anything from the game, just slaves to the toxic backseats
@@hasargel I mean, I played the game doing a pacifist run the first time, playing alone. @@hasargel well, if you know what the game is about in the first place(the original concept, an rpg where you don't need to kill anyone), you will be able to see that the route you chose isn't the only one, especially after the voice mail of sans and papyrus, so you would go back as she said she would do, and try sparing flowey this time, and maybe even try to spare the people you killed last time like toriel, after that, he will tell you how to get the "true happy ending", and you get the Pacifist

Well, she would probably have had more if she didn't feel bad about the massages she read from them(like the cleanit, I think that Was it's name?, whe it was sad from it's wounds, or something)

There's something that is quite interesting about the fight with Asgore. When he breaks the mercy button, it could be considered as he is making you unable to show mercy, but, something I think, is that that analysis is completely backwards, he is not making you unable to show mercy, but he is denying your mercy, he thinks he has gone so far that he no longer deserves mercy, and as such, tries to push you away as much as possible, as some kind of atonement. I mean, he clearly doesn't want to fight you, but at the same time, he can't turn his back to the people that hope for freedom, and so, he is forced to either take the final soul or die trying. Thinking about it made me feel even more sad about his death when I actually thought about it. One of the froggits explained that with low enough health, monsters’ names become yellow and they become spareable but the last attack with toriel always has a lot of damage even if you don’t time it to be in the middle
@@AstralMuffin105 I thought I had to lower her HP first, but you end up doing WAY more damage when their health is low, which I didn't know then. I reloaded my old save file and spared her correctly. Flowey will actually call you out on this too. I was freaked out when this happened.
Man, it's still nice to see new fans try Undertale for the first time, I can't wait till you play the Pacifist, Genocide Route and Deltarune Chapter 1 and 2! :)
It's the best choice to avoid spoilers/backseating from the chat and UA-cam comments, because Markiplier has his own playthrough ruined because the comments keep telling him to play the game a certain way, or even spoil him stuff! For Undertale, this is a game where you do not want to be spoiled. He ended up not making Undertale a gameplay series since...what's the point? All in all, I can't wait to see you play through Undertale! Looking forward to it Crystal!
I watched segments of the stream when you posted it, and I have to say that I was very afraid you were going to accidentally kill Papyrus while making progress towards the Mercy way out of that fight, since you attacked him a few times. Usually I see people either just attack or just go for Mercy, so it was an interesting experience! (I, of course, wouldn't be able to be cross with you even if you killed him since I am guilty of an attempted Genocide run)
I'm so happy she decided to go in blind. Like, the game forces you into the Neutral route ending for your first playthrough anyway, all that going Pacifist from the get go does is let you load your save and go straight into Pacifist from there, but the games not long to re-tread once you've done it once. Plus the game does a very good job of guilting you for your decisions, as we see several times here, and thats honestly a massive part of the experience. The way people demand that everyone play pacifist from the start really defeats the purpose of the game.
This is amazing, when I saw it I clicked on it immediately, undertale is my favorite game of all time and to see a UA-camr/streamer that I watch play this, it makes me happy

YES. One of my favorite channels playing one of my fav games. This one is a real gem. Have fun! I'll keep my future comments under SPOILERS, some fun trivia for you to browse in the future :)
MAN. Years and years of loving this game, and yet it was this playthrough that really made it hit fully home for me how darn clever the way the choice of mercy is presented. It’s introduced before the option to fight is, and you’re encouraged to use it from the get-go. The game goes out of its way to make the monsters as cute and sympathetic as it can in the limited time you interact with them & makes you feel bad for killing them. But you keep doing it, because rpg brain insists that you need levels, and it _does_ make the game easier - only to discover that “leveling” was just straight up Murder. The game became easier because you were willing to hurt people for your own gain. And then, right as you learn this, the game _takes away the option of mercy_ and forces you to fight Asgore. And then Flowey kills him before you have a chance to spare him, further taking the choice out of your hands. At the end, the game gives you a choice: kill Flowey, as he has insisted on the whole game.. or spare him. You have no incentive to spare him, really, because this route doesn’t give you any information on Flowey as a character other than his cruelty. He has done nothing but hurt you. You’re not penalized or rewarded for either option, really. The game ends either way. But most players choose kindness anyway, because they don’t want to hurt anyone else. And in doing so, he gives them the ability to save everyone. Its just so darn clever, both in terms of gameplay and in story! I love this game so much
All of y'all are shocked that she has managed to avoid spoilers this whole time but I bet if you asked your parents or someone else they'd be like "what's an undertale?" And then look at you crazy when you try to explain it to them

"A run where yu kill everything, wonder what that's like"
CRYSTAAAHHHL NOOOOO!!
It's so great to see someone go into undertale COMPLETELY BLIND in 2021,,, this stream was so much fun to watch aaa!!
I didn't realize how hard it is to let Toriel live for some people
We are only told once by a frog that we can spare without it being yellow
On my first run, I killed Toriel, and felt so awful for doing it that I immediately deleted the game and started over.
One of the froggits explained that with low enough health, monsters’ names become yellow and they become spareable but the last attack with toriel always has a lot of damage even if you don’t time it to be in the middle
@@rachelnicolas4518 yeah but besides regular monsters, that only works with like, asgore, and people forget that by the time they reach him
@@AstralMuffin105 I thought I had to lower her HP first, but you end up doing WAY more damage when their health is low, which I didn't know then. I reloaded my old save file and spared her correctly. Flowey will actually call you out on this too. I was freaked out when this happened.
Holy shit with the way the first couple minutes have been going, this is going to be an INTERESTING playthrough
I am glad that you could play this game spoiler free!!
This is amazing, when I saw it I clicked on it immediately, undertale is my favorite game of all time and to see a UA-camr/streamer that I watch play this, it makes me happy
so glad you didnt do a pacifist run the first time. my first ever playthrough of undertale was neutral and im honestly glad, its way more interesting when you do the other routes when you do a neutral one first. loved watching :)
You can't do a pacifist on your first time
@@Gaster60066 ik i meant pacifist not true pacifist
@@kairo-o oooh i see, sorry

Oh man…you have NOT seen how I abused the selling system in Dragon Quest 8, I used the Alchemy pot and bought as many medicinal herbs as I could and made strong medicines, and basically I made a 5.5x profit so I had an infinite gold exploit
honestly its nice to see someone not immediately pressured into a pacifist run right off the bat and play truly blind
Crystal- I want to see everything this game has to offer
(Megalovania and bad times intensify)
Out of all the blind playthroughs I've seen I've never seen anyone actually kill Flowey. I can appreciate a good blind neutral run, the game excels at turning the normal gaming tropes on their heads forcing you to learn as you go. It's cool to see people go through that journey
i legit played undertale for the first time this weekend and the flower literally gives me whiplash
My theory is that the more puns she encounters the more she wants to kill shit
the fact that you somehow didn't see a single tiny spoiler for Undertale (which was been around for 6+ YEARS) is just miraculous
No spoilers! I'm watchin y'all....
I enjoyed watching this! thanks for the laughs...and the cries. LOL!
Bro I love seeing the evolution of your editing in these videos, they just get better and better and even more enjoyable to watch.
How, HOW HAVE YOU NEVER HEARD OF A N Y T H I N G UNDERTALE!! Where can I learn this power?
3:37 Let the record show, I love the way “kitty cat detective hat” feels on my tongue hole and my ear holes as I say that.
13:43 Editor game on a whole 'nother level
I love this game so much
When she hit the dummy we all know she goofed it and was out for blood
OMG, You too?! I just started finally getting to Undertale in order to join in on the Deltarune hype as well! Good luck to the both of us, I suppose!
"Flexes a boulder" - Photo bomb Chris Redfield - LOVE IT!!!
The "YOU IDEYOT" had me XD
All of y'all are shocked that she has managed to avoid spoilers this whole time but I bet if you asked your parents or someone else they'd be like "what's an undertale?" And then look at you crazy when you try to explain it to them
31:54 The number of emotions you went through in a matter of seconds lol
The fandom: papyrus is so innocent he don't even know the things the human do
Papyrus: 35:59
YES! Finally she playing Undertale! This is going to be a wonderful trip for her but unfortunately for her her trip decide her fate 🙅
As I’m sure you’ve gathered from this comment section, you’re opening a rabbit hole deeper than you could ever hope to imagine.
At least you don’t have to wait quite as much as the rest of us will, as you will most certainly get hooked to this wonderful series.
"when you play too many RPGs and assume LV is levels" *sweats nervously*
You know, when I got to the choice of killing or sparing Flowey, I spared him. Not only because it's the right thing to do, but also because I knew it would piss him off ^^'
He was angry at first. But then eventually broke down crying.
@@FeligamiAdrizoeSworaDooplivian Yeah I know
I see you put chat in Emote only mode.....that was a very very very smart move.
Amazing she managed to get one of the most interesting ending
"But if I KILL them I get exp"

15:51 Dude when I was playing genocide I saw this line for the first time. I got really attached to Woshua so that line really disturbed me 😭😭😭

Aghhhh You're playing Undertale! Can't wait to see your decisions :))) Nice video Crystal!
as an undertale fan, do whatever you want. enjoy
Crystal finally getting into Undertale? love to see it
35:00 it is a far greater victory to make your enemy see the world through your eyes rather than close them forever.
"She's hiding bodies in the basement"
Equivalent to "skeletons in the other side of the wierd door"
These are always So fun to watch just because undertale is such a different experience for everyone
I’m not gonna spoil anything, but you’re in for a wild ride.
I ended up killed Flowey my first playthrough too. I tried to mercy him, but then he said “I’ll kill them all”, “I’ll kill all your friends” and that scared me enough to kill him. Soooo…. I get it. Nice to feel represented, lol.
!!! YOOOOO CRYSTALS PLAYING UNDERTALE (and then deltarune hopefully) POG
This video introduced me to your chanel. Undertale is my favorite game. (:
OH MY GOD YOU'RE PLAYING UNDERTALE I LOVE YOU
WHAT SHE KILLED TORIEL 😭😭😭
So sad
unfortunate but it's not very clear tbh
@@ozzy2134 It's meant to be unclear. Undertale teaches you Mercy as you play. It's an amazing blind experience.
I’m really happy you got to experience this blind, and whoever was responsible for emote only. They are to be commended for foresight.
Holy shit how have you gone 5 years with no spoilers but im very impressed
Welcome to the family Crys, hope you enjoy the ride. Greetings from Italy
Undertale
Let's see her reaction to it
I'm perfectly ready.
youtube put this into my recommended for some reason which is strange because i haven't played undertale in years and have no interest in deltarune. i'm glad though because it was very funny and i will definitely be trying to catch some of your streams :D
10:30 meanwhile that game too:
"Oh, dog resedue ! You can sell that if you need, for sure"
If you don't know, dog resedue basically infinite item in the game
Really refreshing to see another newcomer’s first Undertale
“THAT’S NOT FRIENDSHIP PELLETS!” amazing start
I am here to drop some cursed knowledge sans voice is a clipped version of Patrick the sea star
Yoooooo. I know Undertale is extremely…gushed over, but it is an EXPERIENCE. I’m so excited for you!
