Canada is a diverse country. Depends on where you live. I live in a small city. The pace of life is slower and quieter. It’s affordable and fishing and hunting are 15+ minutes away. Most residents are over 50. Winters are tolerable if you pick quality clothes and drive a suitable vehicle. Our rent is just over $800 a month all inclusive.
American born and raised, but I have been to Canada and Turkey too! I agree that both America and Canada has its pros and cons like any other country. But I like the most in Canada is how incredibly safe if it is. The places in America that you talked about or things could go wrong are not even the dangerous parts, they are much worse parts in places like Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, Detroit, and St Louis where you may feel in greater danger.
Yeah well depending what part of Canada you are in it's mostly European. I didn't even see people of other races until I was 35 years old 10 years ago. I've still never heard a gunshot fired in my life but where I live it's homogeneous.
As a Canadian whose is First Nations, I have never went to the US but would like to go their someday so while I may be talking from a outside perspective, while they are differences between countries, I don’t really think one is better than the other, we both have a bunch of faults and have done horrible stuff but also did a bunch of good and I think their is a difference between judging a country than judging a government and two should be separate. I think we should judge the government of both Canada and the United States for any bad decisions they make and not the normal people living in them.

I am sure Americans reading this make fun of us for having a crappy prime minister that no one likes, waiting a eternity to go to the hospital, and our love for maple syrup and hockey. So in conclusion, while they are differences, some good some bad. I think both countries are beautiful but also have their downsides and their is no superior one

As a frenchman I totally agree. I don't even mind if québec becomes independent, I don't mind if it stays in Canada. but it's safe to say french culture is very social and friendly, so I think a lot of the culture in montréal stems from that.

I live under a rock, so I am not really up to date with this. I saw a kid get his entire club taken down as well as the principal meeting with the parents of the child, because on a Google form asking for votes on what we would like to do during work session, and the 2nd question was “what gender are you?” And since he only had the 2 genders that are the ones that actually exist, he got in some deep crap for that. Complete bullsht. I also just hate seeing a rainbow flag every 2 square feet during June, the companies that started this are just profiting of a marginalized group, & marketing it as “representation” for these people. Hope this gets better.

I've lived in america my entire life, and I've thought about moving to Canada several times. I've lived in the midwest my entire life in either wisconsin, illinois, or indiana. I visited windsor ontario twice last year and really loved it both times. Im starting to feel the weight of how expensive things have gotten here. It's getting to a point i may have to move back in with my parents for a while

Canada has lower incarceration rates because Canada fails to protect their citizens and lock criminals up. Too many are released on bail. Also Canada certainly does not have much press freedom. A few bills were signed restricting that.
The reason Canada can’t use most of their land is because most of it is bad for agriculture and farming and so no one would want to live there because that simple resource isn’t as close by as the areas with more people.

I changed it to hydroponic farms since the whole idea of a verticle farm is failing while the LED lights can provide some photosynthesis, the lighting does not have a good mixture for it to really work. Hydroponic farming just requires water. As for it being difficult to build because of the thin soil and bedrock, I'm sure you can just build the hydroponic farming underground.
As a Canadian living in Los Angeles I would say the United States is better in terms of opportunities and growth. As for healthcare the price is here are whacked but if you have health insurance even with deductibles it's still better than Canada. If you don't have a health insurance then you can go in debt. A lot of people choose not to pay that debt by the way and it doesn't get reported on your credit reports. As a responsible gun owner myself I disagree that Canada's safer. The United States consists of 50 states and to suggest that America is unsafe because of some failed states/areas is not a legitimate point.

I would say it also depends on which state you are in. I live in California and housing prices are as bad as Toronto and Vancouver. Also, the healthcare system is expensive and still sucks. My mom had pneumonia and was so sick she could not get out of bed for days but the hospital refused to treat her because her condition was not critical enough for a trip to the hospital. She survived in the end but I will always remember that because it showed how shitty healthcare in California was.
One other thing America does better than most other countries is national parks. Yellowstone was the world's first formal national park and the US national parks system is still one of the best maintained and best funded parks systems in the entire world.

I think it’s all based on preference and up to someone’s own interpretation. For some people, Canada may be more suitable and the high housing prices are manageable, for others America might be a better choice. There’s no ‘which one is better?’, just ‘which one is right for you?’. They both have their advantages and disadvantages, some very significant. It’s all depends on a person’s needs.
I doubt any of the Canadian provinces could compare to Florida when it comes to raising house prices to ridiculous numbers which is a good thing for Canada

A big thing I like about the US is they have every single climate, from deserts to jungles to forests to ice filled landscapes to mountain ranges to open fields to muddy swamps to rivers to tropical islands, literally everything.

I would say it also depends on which state you are in. I live in California and housing prices are as bad as Toronto and Vancouver. Also, the healthcare system is expensive and still sucks. My mom had pneumonia and was so sick she could not get out of bed for days but the hospital refused to treat her because her condition was not critical enough for a trip to the hospital. She survived in the end but I will always remember that because it showed how shitty healthcare in California was.
One other thing America does better than most other countries is national parks. Yellowstone was the world's first formal national park and the US national parks system is still one of the best maintained and best funded parks systems in the entire world.

I think it’s all based on preference and up to someone’s own interpretation. For some people, Canada may be more suitable and the high housing prices are manageable, for others America might be a better choice. There’s no ‘which one is better?’, just ‘which one is right for you?’. They both have their advantages and disadvantages, some very significant. It’s all depends on a person’s needs.
They are both good countries who’s negatives are always what get focused on

The main issue that both these countries have at least I think (you can disagree and I respect you for that) is politics, in Canada as Ali explained most of their currently elected politicians are spineless nobodies not wanting to do anything to help their people and in America there are very strong left and right wing movements that are boarder lining on extremist there is simply no middle point anymore and their politicians are so old they saw the meteor wipe out the dinosaurs, I’m in Australia so I really don’t have a hand in this but that’s my perspective as a foreigner if I got anything wrong I do apologies
The media also loves to create dividing narratives and there isn’t really another way to get info about politics without them
