- I love a timelapse! I've been told I'm pretty damn good at them (if I do say so myself!) In this video, I shoot a ton of timelapses all over Europe, over two weeks, and share all my best timelapse making tips with you.

Got there in the end 😅 hope you found this video helpful! Or at least amusing 😂 what are your best timelapse tips?
Fabulous video about time-lapsing. Do you always pick 1-sec intervals for the capturing stage or do you change it up for different situations, if so, what other time intervals do you recommend.
@@RudyGiron my most used interval for every day stuff is 5 seconds. Then 10/20 seconds for things that change more slowly like the sun setting 😊
Our tip would be - ND for the day for wonderful motion & Nightscape for the night to remove unwanted light pollution 😎
"DIRTY RAINDROPS ON MY SCREEEEN" 😂😂
😂
A serious lapse, Emily! Technology is serious stuff. But, once again you bring FUN to funtography❣️👍 It's a gift to take make technology accessible and make us smile!😊
Thank you ☺️
I love doing Timelapse’s, and a”Holy Grail” Timelapse of going from day to night is on my bucket list.
The only tip, or rule of thumb, that I can suggest is to have your shutter speed half of your exposure time. For example, if you are taking an image every 5 seconds then try to keep your shutter open for 2.5 seconds.
Please do a Timelapse with a Dentist somewhere in the frame just for your “tooth of a second”😂😂
Great tip, I think a bit of motion blur always looks good!
🦷 🦷
i love how colorful, sharp and pop that your photos are!
This is more than a time lapse tips video, this is a time lapse guide! ❤
Thank you for highlighting both location scouting and editing!
One place where fast shutter is preferable is when you want to miniature mode either using a tilt shift or in post.
Next : holy grail with LRtimelapse. I've never been able to get it right, especially when and by how much to adjust exposure while the camera is still going.
I really wanna try doing some Timelapse’s now 😂
Maybe done do what I did 🤣
Great fun video. I'm inspired to go out and make a timelapse now.
If you still have a Panasonic Lumus GH2 there is a old trick for timelapses when using a intervalometer. You can set it to take one still jpeg image when using the electronic shutter. The GH2 can only take two megapixels jpegs only when the electronic shutter. They are very good jpegs I will say that for the GH2. Someone of Vimeo figured this out because they did not want to blow their mechanical shutter.
I've done a few timelapses years ago and I did it with video because I did not want to blow my mechanical shutter. Now all the cool kids have cameras with electronic shutters that can take raw files. LOL
Man, that was a complete up your level quide with some awesome examples too. Thanks!
Thanks Matti! ☺️
Absolute banger of a video!
Great video! Learned a lot!
Great video, makes me want to do some more Timelapse’s for sure. Thanks for the inspo.
Thank you
This got me so excited to do timelapses again! And good to see the little pocketable gx800 again :) if the weather suits I'll try some timelapses this weekend ❤
Kind of a similar topic. Have you ever done tilt shift timelapse? You don't really need extra gear, it can all be done on a video editor.
I noticed the Seattle Seahawks beenie. Its cool to see American football branching out.
Go hawks!! So excited for next season!
I was just on the Alice camera Instagram. Were you at their office trying the Alice camera?
@@nomansarker5556 yes I’ve gone to meet them - Alice looks really promising!
The hopes are high, but the delays are concerning 😟
Love your channel, and great video, as always! Thanks for the amazing tips and lovely clips and photos ❤
Thanks so much! 🙏
What an incredibly comprehensive video! You have covered everything is such a professional & entertaining way! Great work Emily ♥️
Thank youuuu!
Your videos are the best! 🎉
You’re the best 😍📸
Hi Emily, superb video, thank you for showing your editing content, very useful for a dunce like me!
Thanks Alan! So glad you found the tips useful! ☺️
Loved the video and appreciate the tips! I'm feeling inspired, so I decided to do a two-week timelapse challenge with a friend. I have never tried using a longer exposure time to add blur. It'll be fun to try that out. Cheers!
Awesome!!! Best of luck with it ☺️
What card do you use in your camera UHS?! Thanks for showing this, always wondered how it was done !
DId you use VIDEOtimeapse mode in panasonic cameras? (variable frame rate at low values of fps - 2 fps for example - you shoot 12 minutes and get 1 minute timelapse video without additional editing) Sometimes it can really save the time and it's very useful for shooting timelapses with moving people
This excellent video should have gotten many more views than it did.
Thanks so much ☺️ it always seems the way with youtube the more effort we put in the more it tanks 😂
@@MicroFourNerds As a relative newbie to all the possibilities of digital photography I really didn't understand what the title you used for this video meant. Maybe you could repackage it with a new title!? "Magic of stop motion" ... ?
@paperback10 this has been about the hundredth title and thumbnail so far I just think it isn't a far reaching topic!
Awesome content guys..... Would have been nice is you said what the camera settings were as you was taking the shots 🤙🏼
Thank you! Always manual everything ☺️
Do you shoot your time lapses in RAW? When traveling this fills up the SD cards real quick so I tend to do it in JPG 😐 Also, I noticed that my (old) Lightroom has some issues/bug when applying a development to a big set of photos (such as a timelapse)... I started doing the grading in Resolve 🙂
Even in jpeg you will have some leeway in editing and it’ll be better than the produced in-camera video 😊
Lovely to see you are in Munich my hometown. How long are you staying so i can hope to meet you by chance?
Already home now unfortunately but it was such a lovely place!
@@MicroFourNerds ah such a shame, what did you visit?
I got anxiety with your camera sat on the rail 😅 just sat there with nothing to stop it being knocked into the abyss
It freaks my husband out all the time as well 😂
Do you ever cross the "pond?" I'd surely find it interesting to view my country from your perspective. (Canada)
Anyway, happy trails....
I went once in 2012, it was so great! It’s been on my list to go back ever since 😊
Though was Tom Holland for a moment 😂
Are you using M43 cameras ?
A good mixture! The lumix GX800, the S5ii, and a little bit of the Olympus PL6 😊 oh and the gh6 at the start!!
Love me a timelapse :D
Thank you!! I learned from the best 😁
