Nice catrch, I was wonderin what the rigging on the heavy rescue pump where the 13.5m ladder usually sits? some sort of cage?

Great question, on the UHRP which is the second truck, the brigade have exchanged the 13.5s for HGV access platforms

I thought they got rid of it and replaced it with a Carp, although the CARP might have been withdrawn from service as by the time it arrived there was a new chief fire officer/whatever term they use nowadays who hated the thing and didn't want it in any stations!

One CARP was based at Bromsgrove to replace their HP. It never went on the run and was stored at workshops for a couple of years until it was sold to Cleveland

Yeah, they were never deployed operationally, for some reason I thought Hereford had one for a very, very, very short time, (three weeks at most)!, But the chief fire officer didn't like the thing!

I think the reason it wasn’t liked was that the aerial and pump couldn’t be operated at the same time ( which wouldve been the point of it ) those models of CARPs also had issues with weight, West Yorkshire modified theirs with a makeshift third axle
