That's what I'm saying... The guy left the scene and had gotten away... That's not typical in these cases, usually it's suicide by police... Something sounds weird about all of this. Why try to escape just to end up in the same place? 🤔

Maybe if the U.S. developed health care like all other nations have done, we wouldn't have mentally disabled people roaming the streets across the nation abandoned and neglected. Ever wonder how many of the homeless are abandoned disabled people? Look around and you will learn quickly our for profit health care system (or lack of health care support) is the root of the problems. Get out of your car and take a walk around any downtown city in the U.S. and see for yourself.
All other nations? There’s a small number maybe 4-5 countries in the world that have seriously tackled this issue. It’s a problem all over the world.

Maybe if the US like other countries had some reasonable gun laws, it didn’t allow private citizens to own weapons of war. These things wouldn’t happen, or at least be as deadly.

The best would be try passing laws that restrict guns to mentally ill or those who voice harm like he did. His guns should've been immediately removed. I'd be wondering if they did and he got an illegal one. Somewhere the ball was dropped if he had threatened before.

A former LA mayor recently said that the greatest challenge facing Police nationwide is their inability to take mentally ill people off the street BEFORE they seriously hurt someone. This is the exact type of situation he had in mind. While the Law allows people with observable mental illness to walk the streets you can expect tragedies like this one to happen over and over and over and over again.

Prohibit people with a slight history of mental health and suicidal thoughts to hold weapons?! How? By marking them in their ID permanently, and then forcing all gun store owners to not sell weapons to people with that mark in their ID......is it gonna happen? Doubt it....why? Now there needs to be an investigation as to why zero action was taking by authorities and military officials when they were alerted days prior that this guy is mentally unstable.
I hoped that he would live to see trial. I want to know if this was the result of poor mental health or a coward taking his anger out on innocent people, or both. but I’m starting to think that we shouldn’t always coddle people because they have mental health issues or even suicidal ideations. When a Schizophrenic has an episode of hearing voices eventually those voices subside and the schizophrenic is left trying to determine what was reality and what was not. The man needed to have been picked up and put in a hospital for a year or more then this most likely would have never happened.

Anyone who gives warnings that they are a clear and present danger should not have access to weapons. And I wonder was no one armed in either of these places that could have taken him out? This is such a heinous thing. I have no sympathy for anyone who takes innocent lives. I feel sorry for his family, but they probably had the best option to prevent this. Anyone who knew of his mental state shares some guilt if they did not try and act. Our health care system is also to blame.
We are all to “blame” - alcohol, guns, a culture of hate and fear; we each must do better, all day, every day, no matter what…

American's can bark all they want about their constitutional rights, but when its easier to access guns than basic healthcare then you know there is a problem.
I'm not saying gun laws will immediately fix the problem, because American's have been so naive to the problem for too long.
But I would 100% guarantee there will be less gun violence and less than the 565 mass shootings that have currently happened in the US.

That mental facility should face lawsuits. After the grief period, and laid to rest. When military has to send to mental facility that’s pretty serious, the family tried. They should have known better. Military people , not all of corse are going to have emotional issues. That’s to them people are dead and wounded. Mental Health can just put bandages on these illness. That’s a long term illness. John Hinkley who shot Reagan , was in a mental institution for 41 years. He is living quietly in a halfway house takes medication faithfully. That is a reasonable amount of time. But they are never really cured. But they can function pretty much normal if take medication. This tragedy could have been prevented.

Yep, he wanted to die, unfortunately his way he took so many that could've been avoided if his guns were taken away and he was listened to that he needed to talk about the voices. He was likely put on medications which he either didn't take or it wasn't working.

NEVER SHOW THE PICTURES OF THESE PEOPLE. They don't deserve to ever be given notoriety of any kind. It's extremely immoral and irresponsible to show their faces. It is highly insulting to the families and it encourages this behavior. If the media wants to do anything positive to help here, only show the victims' pictures when you talk about a story like this. It's so simple and easy. I will not watch news agencies or clips that continue to do this.

When he was healthy, people need him. He did not get help when he got sick. For 2 weeks person cannot come over mental problems. Maybe medication did bad things to this person. Police must investigate: what hospital he was, what medication he used. The voices in his head can be from medication.
Excuses for evil behavior is just that an excuse.
Lots of medications can potentially make mental health issues worse (especially SSRIs).
