This reminds me how what happened with Evil Dead Rise and Blue Beetle I remember hearing that those movies was going to streaming only and with Evil Dead Rise it tested pretty well and they decided to make it a theater release. Not sure if they did test screenings for Blue Beetle but that one did went to theaters. It's also happening with Alien Romulus where originally it was going straight to streaming but decided to have it in theaters instead, that one was probably because how well Prey did. Anyway it does suck how Roadhouse isn't going to theaters because the movie does look fun.
Not a big theater fan anyway, lately the audiences I've encountered in cinemas are either flash-banging me with phones across the aisle or ear-raping me from all directions by munching sophisticated dog food non-stop. Sitting in the comfort of my house with none of that going on and enjoying a film without any distractions ? sounds like heaven 👌
The cgi in the opening scene made the fighters look so much like video game characters that when JakeG dropped his robe i wondered if they'd dialed him up too. It was an insidious distraction i'd never experienced in dozens of films i knew were 80% green screen. My point is it that the first scene was enough to corrupt my imagination on a PHONE - i can't imagine what it would have been like to experience that at theater scale. And i'm no expert on cgi or fighting, and i'm not a gamer.
I wanted to write a neat comment about how both Roadhouse films feature actors from Donnie Darko, but I’m too lazy to write one. So. Yeah. Can’t wait to see this Roadhouse. :)

Yeah because it’s an immediate turnoff showing how inept studios are to making an original idea and think it’s a good idea to take something good and crap on it by making new junk. Trying to fix something that isn’t broken and people but into it thinking it’s so clever or such a great idea when it’s not. When was the last landmark pop culture character made? I don’t even know because nobody has a brain anymore. Who’s going to make the next Indiana jones or Mary McFly or beetlejuice or darth Vader or Batman or James bond? Who knows probably never, because ask that know how to do is milk those franchises for every drop
As a big fan of original Roadhouse I can say easily, that this "remake" trailer look awful. The fact, that this video doesn't have even one clip, or shot from original not only tells me, how lazy this video is in montage... But also there is REALLY nothing said about original: shows how lazy this video is not only in montage... Cut out the title, the IP that it feeds on, and you have typical trailer for some typical Netflix generic movie... But this time it's actually from Amazon... Also I don't even want to touch this yours "analyze" of cinema, when you don't mention at all for example the economy - it's worse, and more people is totally OK without going to cinema. Not only that - total silence about how crappy this whole "Hollywood" become... Most of the time is focused on "controversy" because... Guess what - it's all about money. Jeezz that's new... Umm - Actually it's not new... 👎

The problem with exclusive streaming is, it also lessens the chance it'll have a BD release, which would be superior in picture and audio quality.
