I laughed so hard at "What era Christ?" "Uh, pre-death?". Also, for favorite sample, it's death metal but the "LIFE SUCKS, AND THEN YOU DIE!" at the beginning of The Optimist by Skinless is what came to mind immediately.
Also “scum cookie” but all of their older stuff has funny or good intros. Suicide silence first got me into intro cause i found heavier stuff later in my teens(born 96)
The Hardlore record sounds effing amazing!! Basically you guys could do what Roadrunner Records did with Roadrunner United. But instead of pulling from just one label, get different guys and gals from different bands and labels of hc playing all different kinds of original hc tunes. Instant classic.
ngl, I never really got into hardcore music before this podcast, but caught the louisville EP and have watched every episode since. first ever show I went to and spinkicked was at the KL/TT show @ midnight hour and now I'm planning to go to sound and fury and more so thanks hardlore :) congrats on 100 my dudes
Controlling the deadlift through the concentric and eccentric are crucial to getting stronger! Never drop a deadlift! Amazing episode otherwise haha. Been loving listening/watching the past year - got me more active in the local scene after a couple year hiatus. Appreciate all the work you guys do!
I dont usually comment much but I just wanted to say that my love for hardcore has truly multiplied in watching your guys' videos. I'd dabbled a bit in the genre before, knowing a fair amount of bands and albums, but learning the history, the passion you guys have for it, has only made me grow to love it more. it's been a while I've been watching you guys and now on your 100th episode, I think it's fair to say that you guys are the go-to when it comes to band/album recs. absolutely love the show and I eagerly await more content!!!!
Congratulations gentlemen!! I haven't been here from the very beginning, but shortly after and I've been here ever since! Love you guys and the show! Here's to 100 more!
I love your guys’ podcast and I have so much to thank to you guys for introducing me to so much great music and great shows I’ve experienced. It’s literally changed my life.
Bo should have a rig rundown segment with other bands. Lots of other rig rundowns are just modelers and they dont even dive into the patches. At least hardcore bands still rock cool pedals and amps. Would love to see what other bands are rocking with!
On the topic of Battery sounding like polka - I write a lot of speedy punk/metal shit (think Midnight, Toxic Holocaust, Hellripper, stuff like that). One unignorable thing I’ve realized, after many an hour spent playing around with speedy/thrash riffs to various BPMS of d-beat, is that all speedy riffs have an intrinsic polka/hootenanny vibe. Beneath the veneer of Satan and blood, is an accordion and a pair of lederhosen.
its funny a buddy and i were talking recently about how the misfits box set changed our lives as 14 year olds. Made me go back and revisit it this week.
31:44 Honest question: can anyone explain their blind-spot when it comes to DEP? Just personal taste or are DEP not under the relevant umbrella? Personal taste notwithstanding I would have thought that Calculating Infinity is objectively a Master Killer album. Disclaimer: loved DEP back in the day but haven't listened in years, just noting I have no skin in the game either way.
1:13:15 Mark my words Vatican's "Ultra" will get its flowers within a decade. Sucks that they silently broke up like a year or two after the album came out but literally nothing else I've ever heard scratches the same hardcore flavored modern metalcore with crazy techy elements itch (not even darko).
Regarding Olivia Rodrigo, the producer on her records is Dan Nigro, who sang and played guitar for a Long Island emo-rock band called As Tall As Lions. I always considered them closer to bands like Brand New and Taking Back Sunday than the indie label they got, so they're sort of LIHC adjacent.
Downloading wise, I used and still use Soulseek. Leaking is a weird one, things defo don't leak as much as they used to. I lived on Soulseek trying to find things early.
Take a page from Reed Mullin with Teenage Time Killers! Other than him on drums and I think some vocals and the bass player, the whole album was just a full guest list of metal and punk vocalists and musicians.
Bo says he thinks lars fucked up the blackened riff and they never play it the same, but they def play it that way on binge and purge but I think its because James and Kirk play it different. On the record it def sounds like lars comes in a beat late so it sounds like the riff starts on the off beat, or 7th fret A string. Live, it sounds like James and Kirk actually start the riff on that note for two measures. Then they go back to starting it on the low E.
Colin, can you confirm if X flight everyone X actually fought everyone? Apart from. xKill everyonex that was the hardest thing I ever saw on MySpace. From memory a black-and-white photo of everyone crossing arms at least 500 members?
The DJ from Bloodhound gang (DJ Qball) owns a venue here in Pennsylvania right outside Philly. Come through and play sometime! I do the mixing there, could hook it up!
1:11:33 "What's a jingle you can't get out of your head?"
Us: ....... HARD-LLOOOOORRRRREEEEEEEE
I love how the Battery riff is now ruined for us all immediately. Thank you, Mr. Bo's Dad!
Actually Metallica ruined it
No that’s an old school thing to say… I’m 47 and i remember hearing that back back in the day
tbh I like it even more now
Not ruined for me. MOP is a riff smorgasbord. Anyone who plays guitar, I would think, feels the same.
100 of the best damn reasons I've woken up on Thursday mornings. God bless you boys for keeping my lore hard.
The Les Paul in hardcore is like the Rickenbacker bass in punk.... They either stole that, were gifted it .. or are secretly rich
I laughed so hard at "What era Christ?" "Uh, pre-death?".
Also, for favorite sample, it's death metal but the "LIFE SUCKS, AND THEN YOU DIE!" at the beginning of The Optimist by Skinless is what came to mind immediately.
Incredible skinless song
Skinless has some dope intro!! “Scum cookie”. “Will you be my special friend? I can walk, i can talk. I can even shit my own pants”.
Also “scum cookie” but all of their older stuff has funny or good intros. Suicide silence first got me into intro cause i found heavier stuff later in my teens(born 96)
Sooooo good 🤌

Listened to the audio last night, and back again for the visuals, happy 100 fellas, y'all make my life better
Prediction for heaviest of all time, Crowbar or Pantera. Congrats on 100 🎉
WHAT'S HEAVIER THAN PANTERA, BRO-TOWN!??
Damn you called it. My thought was if not Meshuggah, then Crowbar
If course it's obviously Crowbar ! Ask Phil....

favorite moment of the show is the “what manner of ghoul” reoccurring bit during haunt lore
Congratulations gentlemen!! I haven't been here from the very beginning, but shortly after and I've been here ever since! Love you guys and the show! Here's to 100 more!
Love the hauntlore eps. I'll appreciate them if they keep coming
Fuck yeah a 2hr hardlore ep on my birthday this is killer!! Keep up the good work guys!

Thank jah for the boys and 160 minutes of lore
HAUNTLORE FAN KEEP EM COMIN
I’m still on the “Cloin” comment from last week
Honestly me too
Cloin and Bao reply too
Colin being a not-so-secret prog guy is awesome and I want more prog convos during episodes now.
You misspelled penis
PSA: If you up hardin your lore rn, you need to check out the HAUNTLORES, because we need more of them!
Best part of all episodes was the hauntlore when Colin walked into the pole and sacked himself, funniest shit ever
two days on and my lore is still rock hard
23:51 And that is why Harms way should REALLY play Fantasy live again.

Life is better cause we have hardlore.
47:21 the second chord in the chorus of 'Children in Heat'. It took a long while for me to be convinced that was correct.
Love this show and im gonna go back and watch your hauntlore shows 🤘
Two of the best. Thanks for the pod!
Another episode with Vincent would be sweet. TAS has released a lot of music since he was on the show.

PLEASE GOD GET JOSH TYPE O!!!!!! Oh my god, I'd love to see that.
I vote the mighty MORTICIAN as the #1 HEAVIEST band of all time.
FUCK MCDONALD'S!!!!!!!!
Yep to mortician but I dig da arches
Lucky number slevin is a good movie with a good twist
Who in the fugg is not watching Hauntlore!?! Go watch them now!!!!!
Swear to god rock! HARRRDDDD
can't believe I've been harding my lore 100 times, congrats fellas
SUPER INSPIRING 💥💯
Are the reasons we don’t have more Hauntlore is because people don’t watch them?!
YO GET IT TOGETHER! I need a Hauntlore petition asap
Please do a guitar and bass gear hardlore.
The Hauntlore episodes fucking rip do not stop doing them.
The best part of the OG "bitch it's in the mail" saga was it definitely wasn't in the mail.
Take a page from Reed Mullin with Teenage Time Killers! Other than him on drums and I think some vocals and the bass player, the whole album was just a full guest list of metal and punk vocalists and musicians.
The twist in the first Saw movie got me.
love these eps where bros are just yappin’ 🫡
video games, hard lore, and new socks. best 3 things in the world
Yessss Bo! Luna jingle is goated
Congratulations BOYZ!
It’s hardlore time
I love HardLore!
Crowbar literally says that there's none heavier so....
I think I gotta go with Suffo as the heaviest band ever.
Maybe mortician? Suffocation heavy as fuck though
Been waiting for an ep like this
'That master riff' @01:24:00 is actually riff from 'Andy Warhol' by David Bowie
Cold as Life De Niro sample has to be the best though.
Love you guys
Pretty sure early godsmack shows were with boston hardcore bands like converge / overcast / etc.
My favorite Val Kilmer Movie is "The Salton Sea" !!! Highly recommend..
Wow nice pull… why do I feel like it’s about drugs ? I remember seeing it once
@@misterbaker9728 It's sad that the movie is so underrated
hmmm heaveist of all time. might be wrong but going with the first thing that pops in my head....the acacia strain
2:29:50 re: riff rip off - I was dying when I heard the TT feed your disesae riff then heard bolt thrower's return from chaos
My lore is hard af
Respect to these 2 legends 💪
Bo giving me blue balls not singing “YOU RULE” at the end of the BK jingle
Congrats, boys!
my prediction is full of hell
Casual Violence - CMI will be a classic in a decade
Yall have said it before. Hate breed was engineered to last and be the heaviest. They win.
I want more haunt lore
Can’t wait to see harms way in Cleveland

I laughed so fucking hard at the Professor Bo segment
Peace Sells But Who's Buying for the tip top of the mount Rushmore for baselines.
“Fuck that I’m team Glen Benton” 😂
Gods Hate at TIHC as the secret band on the 100 Demons, All Out War and Cold As Life day???
1:37:27 STELLA! Though you're really talking about The State.
i love professor bo
the bofessor
Get a Pelican sponsorship on Hardlore!!
Andy Garcia in Steal Big, Steal Little is the SITDOD sample on Before Dishonor, btw.
ua-cam.com/video/jnwYGVSow5s/v-deo.html
Can y’all come to goatmans bridge and do a hauntlore
for the last question i think unquestionably it has to be nails
I thought I was the only one that thought the battery riff was like a polka lmao
Happy for you, even if you cut the band names off your shirts.
Hardlore album NOW
Heaviest band of all time; SUFFOCATION
Colin, can you confirm if X flight everyone X actually fought everyone? Apart from. xKill everyonex that was the hardest thing I ever saw on MySpace. From memory a black-and-white photo of everyone crossing arms at least 500 members?
@2:33:10 truest statement
The DJ from Bloodhound gang (DJ Qball) owns a venue here in Pennsylvania right outside Philly. Come through and play sometime! I do the mixing there, could hook it up!
😂
best bassline? howabout Vision, 'in the blink of an eye'?
Prediction for heaviest band: either crowbar, Dying fetus, suffocation, or merauder
Get Karl Willets of Bolt Thrower. He will be up to it, Iam sure!
Need a whole hour of Colin demonstrating Fortnite emotes.
