- Bryony Frost makes history aboard Frodon as she becomes the first female jockey to ride a top-level Grade One Cheltenham Festival winner over jumps on an extraordinary day.
Frost, 23, wiped away tears while a rapturous crowd of nearly 70,000 saluted her dramatic victory in the Ryanair Chase. He's got his day, he's Pegasus," she said of the 9-2 winner, trained by Paul Nicholls.

This was THE moment of Cheltenham for me. Unbelievable horse, Unbelievable ride and a fantastic testament by Bryony after the race. Not often racing chokes me up but this moment did, Never forgotten.
That was one of them events you will never forget. The interview makes me get all emotional. Bryony is such a talent and such a down to earth girl too.
Best race of Cheltenham. So happy for Bryony and Frodon. Both of them never gave up!!

What a ride and what a brave horse so nice to hear Byronys speech after and to see the relationship she has with frodon.
I didn't bet in this one but I sure as hell was shouting on both Frodon and Bryony Frost up that straight. Great for racing to see such a brave, honest horse that jumps so well getting the ultimate reward and Bryony's style makes it such a great partnership.
Love seeing horses who actually want to win...it's admirable....

Bryony is an absolute superstar. She is an inspiration & as a younger Racing fan Bryony is by far my favourite jockey & I absolutely love the passion & intelligence in her post race interviews. Frodon is the perfect partner & the pair go hand in hand. My Festival moment by a country mile, nothing will top that for me. Well done Bryony you are a ⭐️!!!
Absolutely fantastic never shed tears before watching a race.The team tactics of the Irish trio was so obvious Flanagan was thrashing Sub Luitenant to unsettle Frodon and burn him out for his stablemates the whole race....but the gutsy little fighter showed true courage..and what a Jockey Bryony Love you girlxx

I am going to tell you another horse who loved a certain track: Older viewers will remember Twin Oaks who loved Haydock Park during the early nineties. I think the biggest victory at the time was a race now called the Grand National Trial, held every February. The Betfair Lancashire Chase did not exist until after 2005. So Frodon could be just as good, already I am thinking the major Cheltenham prizes before next year's Gold Cup if I was Paul Nicholls. Not sure about the King George at Kempton Park. A terrific race.
This race created is between a champion chaser like Altior or a Gold Cup horse like Native River and Al Boum Photo, the latest winner of the showpiece and already, it has had stars and this, well, equally as good.
What a great partnership. Many congratulations to all the connections of the brave Frodon and to Briony for becoming the first female to win a grade 1 at the Festival.
Yes, that is correct. Lizzie Kelly already had a Grade 1 but that was Kempton, 2015, Tea or Two who ran at this year's Cheltenham Festival but failed to finish, this former Gold Cup participant.
Amazing effort from Frodon, he’s a real star this horse. Great ride from Bryony too, it was a faultless performance from her. She rode the perfect race. So happy they won
Byrony as good as any of the Male Jocks given the right ammo and she proved it again here, superb horse and a superb ride! Bryony a breath of fresh air WONDERFUL!
So hard to make all in a Grade 1, top class ride from Bryony again, she’s a great judge of pace.
Not this race, 90% of the renewals been won by front runners.

I had the privilege of being at the best days racing ever! Frodon's win was the icing on the cake. I'm sure it's Briony's gentle touch that makes her horses respond.

The interview after was the best i ever heard.. made the hairs stand on the back of my neck.
And Frodon is still in training and still full of enthusiasm.

We are looking at a superstar everyone. To make all in a grade 1 of this stature is an amazing feat. Many doubted as to whether he was up to holding his own against the very best, and I think he answered it emphatically. Never looked in much doubt, even at the end when he continued to plug on.
He is a true great horse, and will win many more of the top races.

@Bog Standard The Ryanair is won by a front runner practically every year.
Road to Respect and Monalee really should have run in the Gold Cup Instead, especially Road to Respect who has run well on 3 occasions over 3 miles this season. You get the impression that Gigginstown are more interested in winning the Ryanair chase than the Blue Riband of steeplechasing.

Not sure what was worse, the ride around the Cotswolds on Road To Respect or the idiotic decision to run him in this race rather than the Gold Cup.

They run him three times at 3 miles wins one and unlucky in the other 2 then drop him back to 2 .5 furlong CRAZY

I bet ante post road to respect to win the gold cup and he could of won it if they would have had the sense to run him
What a shame you never rode the horse the same in 2020 if you lead from the front you may have won but the trainer ill advised you
this year .It so sad but i sure when you get more experience you learn the trainers are not the best advisers in riding races
