Orphan is one of the greatest psychological horror movies of all time. It was something new, fresh, unique, inventive, stylish, cool, edgy, hip, and updated such as the concept and themes. The tone and element was scary, creepy, spooky, eerie, dark, gritty, urban, and gothic which works perfectly for the movie. That twist still gives me chills and goosebumps. 😰😱 Isabelle Fuhrman did a phenomenal and spectacular job portraying Esther Coleman as she put tons of emotion and depth into her role. It was decent. To this day I still watch it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old. 😍😎💯👍

Orphan: First Kill has Isabelle Fuhrman return to reprise the Esther role. The production calls for no CGI, Deepfake, or de-aging for the adult Fuhrman. The filmmaker will utilize the practical effects same technique used in the LOTR trilogy of forced perspective to help create the illusion that Fuhrman is a child.

  • @tristenmoore1275

Great job with the reaction. Orphan was an awesome movie even though I haven't seen the recently released prequel yet. I read on the imdb that the original script featured more info about Esther's past. For starters, it was explained that Esther was sexualized at a very early age by her biological father, which caused her dwarfism. When she killed him and another lover, she was sent to saarne. This also explained why she tries to seduce her other adoptive father’s. After escaping from Saarne, she had a stint as a prostitute until she was eventually arrested. To stay out of jail, she kept up the pretense of being a child and was sent to the orphanage, kicking off the events of the film.
Also in the original script, Esther actually succeeded in killing Daniel at the hospital. John's death was originally more brutal.

When kids who are actual kids commit violent crimes, it's profoundly more disturbing compared to adults doing the same acts. Orphan is still a good film, don't get me wrong. I think the opposite. It's neat how Ester blurs that line, though, deliberately. Makes it sound plausible that she meant it in a sweet way, but really it was a back-handed statement meant to cut/hurt her, in retaliation for her phoning about her. It's also at a time where it's plausible she is not the villain, so the duality and difficulty judging it is pretty cool. The bird thing isn't enough to conclude anything IMO. I think the bully-push already had happened, which was pre-meditated. That seems concerning, but it's not enough yet to be sure she is like a horror movie villain.

Okay! I had to point this out, when the kid was flirting with the dad the actor had to take breaks because that is a child actor, and this is also based off a true story, though I don’t know if the murders were real the girl was a criminal and pretended to be a little boy

=) I am not surprised if the young actor who fall from the tree house had some martial arts or at least "falling lesson" if it wasn't a stund double in general. I only took 1 Judo class ages ago and the first thing was "How to fall right!" Basically if you go backwards down try to land on your arms and hands obviously it still can hurt them and would suck but still 10 times better than anything in spine and neck area those are potentionally paralysing if not evne killing for really unlucky onces.
I have absolotuley no clue anymore how to do them, I can't do rolls either nor front or back but I know years after that class it kinda saved my life falling from a small horse (Pony) because somehow muscle memory took over and avoided me landing on my back & neck. So, even if I don't have it in me anymore, I'll be forever greatful for THAT.

It’s how Ester came about. Why she always killed the family members she lived with.
